I rma'd a evga psu that I bought a few years ago after it kept making insane coil whine. Evga sent my rma back, which was pretty relieving given there current situation. Though, they didnt send any of my cables back or replacement cables. Where can I get replacement cables? Any cables will do, dont really care about the colour or anything other then just working.
saw a few alienware psus on ebay and locally for super cheap, 1000W for 30 dollars cheap.
I was wondering, are they compatible with off the shelf motherboards? I've seen a few case swap videos but they always reuse the mobo. Them being modular and atx already is good hope. If it is or not, please let me know
A friend of mine wanted to make a PC for his son and himself. Only issue is that his wife is very annoying and doesnt approve. Therefore, I thought of a solution that I used myself. Albeit, I have no wife and I just did it cause I thought it looked cool 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Thermals were terrible, especially on the cpu as I couldnt fit a tall tower cooler and there was one intake fan that was blocked by the front panel.
The case I had in mind is the rosewill srm-01. I was wondering. Is there anyway that I can improve the thermals on the case without conpromising on the sleeper look? Its suppose to look like a 2010s office pc.

Just bought a used 3080 xc3 ultra. Cards legit but in honest truth it seems to be a mining card, atleast I think so cause the rust on it but its plausible that it might not be as me and the seller live near the pacific coast.
Anyway, the card runs extremely hot. Even after adding on the deshroud mod with 2x 120mm case fans and a repaste with arctic mx6, it still runs at 90C and 100C on the hotspot and on memory and thermal throttles down to 1560mhz. Whats strange is the idle temps are really solid 35c on the core and 45c on the memory and hotspot.
From what I can see the card is still using the stock thermal pads. Is there anything else I should change? Any recommendations?

I bought myself a 5500x3d for a nice price and now its time to find an am4 motherboard. I figured that its likely that if I were to buy one used it would might need a bios update.
My roommate has a 1600 that I could use incase if the bios isnt updated but my question stands there.
If flashing a new bios tends to remove gen 1 ryzen support, would that brick the motherboard since it wouldnt be able to detect the 1600 anymore? What should i do in this situation

Bought a used 3080 and I dont have the 2nd pcie cable for the PSU. Built my pc 4 years and threw out the cable; either that or its my parents house 3000 miles away. Is it safe to daisy chain? Im currently running a 2080 super.
Where do I even get a replacement pcie cable?
A friend of mine got his rtx 3060 fried after one of our other friends turned off the power strip in which his PC was plugged into.
On start, the rest of PC would turn on, fans spin, RGB lights, but the GPU wouldnt display video and the GPU light on his mobo would flash
I confirmed it was just the GPU as I tested in my system and it same issues.
Any chance of fixing it? Sounds like a 12V short but im not that qualified for GPU repair.
