Refinishing Oak Coffee Table

I’ve been telling myself I’m going to refinish our poor coffee table and I finally decided today was the day. I haven’t done a lot this type of stuff so wanted to make sure I’m on the right track.

I only did the top today and am actually wondering if I should just leave the rest of it alone? Also, does the top look okay? I know there is some water damage that have left marks & I’ve been reading about using oxalic acid to get them up (hopefully).
(I also read about not using steel wool on oak, so I won’t be doing that again!)

New stove vs kitchen drawer. Stove is winning.

We have recently purchase a new stove. Did all of the measurements and it fits in fine…we didn’t however, take into consideration this poor little drawer. What can we do here? The drawer is not a necessity but it did hold potholders. Could it be turned into a little shelf? Some cool feature I’m not thinking of? Thank in advance!

Sister (68yrs) wants me to find her daughter

My sister is 68 yrs. She gave up a baby when she was 19. It’s a long story but was essentially forced to give up the child by our parents. She has told me she wants me to try and find her. She’s pretty sure it was a girl but not positive because the baby was taken from her so quickly. She says she doesn’t want to meet her because she has nothing to offer her. I know this is her way of protecting herself from rejection . She really just wants to know she has had a good life and is healthy (medical issues in our family). I came back to add, she has done a DNA test and has no match so far.

Here’s my question, (I’m sorry for being so long winded), I have absolutely no idea how to go about doing this. I know what hospital she was born at and I know it was a closed adoption. I’m thinking that something called Catholic Charities may have been involved.

I’ve read through so many posts here, I know there are many knowledgeable people who may be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks so much if you’ve read this far!

Roving

I came across this ball of roving at a thrift store. I couldn’t leave it but I’m not actually sure what to do with it. Originally i thought I would use it for stuffing for crafts because I thought it was synthetic.

Now, I’m not quite sure it actually is synthetic. I did the lighter test and it definitely didn’t smell like plastic and didn’t really melt. I’ll add the pic of the end I lit.

I do have a drop spindle, which I haven’t really mastered yet. I guess I could try that?

Little free pantry w/refrigerator

Several weeks ago I saw a posting somewhere regarding a little free pantry in the River Rd/Santa Clara area that had just gotten a small refrigerator. I should have written down the street name and I didn’t. Would anyone have a clue as to where it could be?

Could this be a full niece?

UPDATE: Found her! She is actually a 1st cousin. Just one that is much younger than me 😂 so I wasn’t really aware of her. Have to be honest, Im a little disappointed, I got excited thinking it could be my sister’s daughter.

I received this match last week (see below). I really don’t know much about the cM’s and segments. It does say 1st cousin or half niece. My question is, could this be a full niece? My sister gave up a child for adoption in the 1970’s and I am always checking for that.

I know all of my 1st cousins, (I mean, I thought I knew all of my 1st cousins?) and if it’s truly a half niece then there’s a half sibling out there I know nothing about 😬.

Trailer tire 12 inch, 4 lug

My daughter & husband were hauling a utility trailer over the mountain from Sisters to Eugene. Had a blow out on top of mountain. Looking for a wheel & tire. 12 inch, 4 lug. Nothing in Sisters. Tried Les Schwab, BiMart, all tire shops and Ace. Any other ideas for Sisters?

Best low cost vet

We’ve had a stray kitty hang around for about a month. It’s been coming into our garage and eating and i finally got it closed in a crate. Not sure if it’s a boy or girl or if it’s got a microchip. It looks to be a bit beat up & a little sad. I’d like to get it into a vet and have it checked out and get any medicine it may need. Any advice for somewhere that won’t completely break the bank?

Advice

I wasn’t sure about the flare, so hope the one I chose works okay!

First off, thank you everyone who shares their stories here! Because of you, I learned I could go to Amazon Pharmacy, chat with a provider and boom 💥 Estradiol cream in my mailbox. Here’s where I need advice.

I am post menopausal & had a partial hysterectomy in 2014 ( have ovaries). Currently on a 0.06 mg once weekly estradiol patch and 2 x weekly estradiol insert (pill). I have been taking these for about 1.5 years. Was unable to get my patch for a month. Been back on patch for 2 weeks. Was still taking the insert while unable to get patch.

Lady bits ( and my brain), went into a tail spin while without patch. Realized while reading here that lady bits could feel so much better with estradiol cream! (No, Dr didn’t suggest this 🤷🏻‍♀️). So, here’s the advice needed:

Is it harmful to my body to be taking all 3? Dosage listed below:

Mylan Estradiol patch-once weekly: 0.06 mg per patch.
Glenmark estradiol insert: 10 mcg per insert
Padagis estradiol cream: 0.01%

This was a little all over the place, I hope it’s understandable.

Thank you for reading!
