This is not our first rodeo. We already have a few staff in different states. A lot of payroll and HR obligations falls on me (I’m cofounder of sorts), not a dedicated payroll provider yet. We could potentially start hiring in California in the near future, though for starters I’m not looking for a fulltime employee just yet. For those that have experience with California compliance laws, what are the chances that we’d be able to keep up with the compliance laws, at least until we begin hiring there full time to justify a dedicated payroll provider? Also payroll provider recommendations are welcome.

Been trying to connect Deel and Payoneer with no success. The issues seems to be on the Payoneer side of things (something to do with verification, but I've literally spend an hour digging around their platform - both app and browser - and I haven't found a single verfication/ pending items related to this.
Of course, I reached out to Deel and Payoneer support and Deel was very forthcoming, explaining that the issue is sitting with Payoneer. I've had a somewhat mixed experience with Payoneer support, they did not reply to my request and the ticked was closed, somehow.
So, for those that have successfully connected Deel to Payoneer, was there another layer of verification that you had to do.
Context: Being paid in Deel. Residing in Africa. Open to other payment options.

I am not an economist in any way shape or form, but what does this mean for our country? If the situation is as dire as the critics are saying, then there’s real danger to excessive inflation. And what does that mean to young masses of people who are investing their hard-earned money in mutual funds and stocks if the local currency really collapses. We are a small startup and I am trying to understand the payroll rules in the state of California and wow! How do you guys keep up with all those hoops. Some of our part time staff work remotely in San Fransisco and Los Angeles and I’ve only discovered each of these has its own min wage. I won’t be doing payroll but I wanted to be across what’s happening and damn, sorry I poked around.
Guess in addition to other things that may keep me up at night is hoping my payroll software + HR don’t miss anything.
