Hi all,

I recently made discord server specifically for like minded people (mostly over 30 & queer) who are leftists & would like to game together. I’d like to continue building the server. I am 37/F and would especially love to have other femme people around my age join. Our general etiquette is mostly be “be kind but also be able to shit talk and/or get roasted on the regular”.

Some standards to be a part of the community:

- Politically conscious, on the left spectrum. No centrists or apoliticals.
- Socially and eco conscious. No ai using big data bros.
- No surveillance police state apologists
- No incels, MAGA, racists, homophobes, misogynists, etc. of any kind

Some games we are playing lately:
-7 days to die
-slay the spire II
- chivalry II
-Overwatch
- hearthstone

We have about 25 members currently!
Most of us play PC but there are some crossplatformers. Lots of different nationalities and time zones.

Around a month ago I stopped at a business on Freret, the sign outside said Mac Repair, and dropped off my Powerbeats Pros and a $50 deposit to have them repaired. They said that the $50 was the cost of the repair and then gave me a second form with their frankly insane policies stating that it was only a deposit and that if I decide to text them for an update I get moved to the back of the line and charged $10, a phone call or a drop in is a $25 charge. I immediately started panicking and looked up reviews seeing that they scam people and keep their electronics.

I unfortunately at some point lost the slip of paper they gave me, so I reached out to them to request they send me a new copy and they would only send me a photo of the one I filled out, so I do have proof I dropped them off. They refuse to respond to my request to return them along with my deposit since they are way over the time limit stated in their own policy.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to proceed? I really cant afford to lose them right now or drop another $300 for a new pair. I have sensory issues and is affecting my ability to tolerate certain scenarios like going to the gym. How are they allowed to basically lie to customers up front and then steal their property?

I’m writing here because I can’t afford the diagnostic fee right now, let alone repairs at the local dealership.
Here’s what I’m dealing with: 2023 Subaru Outback Limited, 80k miles

1. For about 3 months the trunk sensor was beeping constantly even though the trunk was firmly shut.
2. About a month ago I didn’t drive the car for 2-3 days and would not start without jump. When trying to start all warning lights flashed and brake and steering wheel locked up with brakes jerking as well as a thumping sound in the back of the car.
3. July 4th the car shuts off when I brake at a stoplight and takes maybe 3 minutes to turn on again.
4. The following day it cuts off at a red light again and will not turn on again, doing the same jerking and flashing, until some strangers help me jump it, I drive it to Pep Boys and they run full diagnostics and say everything looks fine and suggest it could be the auto start/stop system and recommend turning it off when I get in the car.
5. Running fine until yesterday when I turned car off at a wash to use the vacuums and same scenario, had to get someone to jump me again.

Any recommendations or insight appreciated as I cannot afford a rental right now either.
I feel stuck in this car with an insanely high monthly payment +insurance draining my bank account.
As a single woman with no family anywhere near me, this is making me deeply anxious as I have to drive 45 minutes one way to a job twice a week.
I did get a portable jump starter and AAA membership as backup.
I opened a case with Subaru of America, as well. Waiting to hear back.
