Moving to Richmond became moving to Chesterfield

I’m relocating my young family to the area, but I was set on living in Short Pump pr Glen Allen for the schools. After being seriously disappointed with the apartments and the high prices, we landed much farther away in Chesterfield. It’s a 25 min drive to everything. Do you think I’ll ever make it to downtown where all the fun is?

Thoughts after week one

Hi everyone! glad to be here. 👋🏽

I never weighed myself before starting this journey. I tried not to fixate on the number, so my last weigh-in before starting was about 6 months ago at 244. After my first week on the GLP-1, I weighed in at 232. I know not all of that is from the medication, but 12 lbs down still feels major.
I’ve watched so many people on glps succeed, but honestly I never believed it could happen for me too. It’s wild that it’s actually happening now.

The night before my next dose was rough. I slept poorly and ended up snacking late like I used to. I woke up this morning to a half empty bag of cookies I’d gone through before bed, and it was a good reminder of why I’m doing this. I never want to go back to being that person who can’t sleep, binge watches TV, and eats everything she held off on all day. The shot really helps quiet those cravings.

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.

Learning to love all of me

Loving all of me. Not just the person I’m becoming, but the woman I am today and everything I’ve survived to get here.

Anyone here have professional kitchen experience?

I’m curious to know how many of you were amateur chefs with a dream vs. professionals who wanted to branch out and do your own thing.

I’m a fine dining chef and I want to work for myself. I’m in the planning phase right now, but I think having restaurant experience will be a huge advantage. No shade to the self-taught folks, but if you’re not professionally trained do you think it was harder to find your groove?

Bag Check Policy

Has your store been checking your bags before you can leave? My store said failure to cooperate could mean termination. So I stand there waiting for someone to scan my badge; which cuts into my already short 30min break. And sometimes it takes 10 minutes for someone to come when my shift is over.

The other day, I literally had to pull up my digital receipt as proof. I bought a snack that was in a shopping bag and I’m at the register!

If there’s theft in the store, treating your employees like criminals is not the answer. I’m never spending another dime at my store again. I can get the same stuff for cheaper right across the street! No discount needed. 😤
Anybody else think this is a dumb policy?
