New AGB Max screen.

Hello, just ordered an AGB IPS MAX for the GBA from HandHeldLegend as I was in the understanding that it’s the best available. I been flooded by bad reviews from the menu, screen tearing and everything inbetween .

Have these issues been resolved?

Thank you to everyone who helped with romhackguides.com. A lot of the site came from your comments: the wider guide pages, the area and fight dropdowns, the team builder, the help pages and two of the guides. I made a page that credits each of you and what changed because of it: romhackguides.com/thanks/

If I missed you, tell me and I'll add you.

Update: added way more ROM hacks and built the team builder you asked for

Hey everyone, thanks for all the feedback on my last post. Two updates.

A lot more ROM hacks. The site went from 47 to 83 hacks. I went down the Hackdex most-popular list and added everything I could find real documentation for, so Crystal Inheritance, Low Budget Crystal, Valiant, Peridot, Poke47, Hoenn's Last Wish, Emerald Squared, WaveBlue, Classic, Wishes of Tomorrow, FireRed Reignited, Platinum Redux and a bunch more now have full guides: encounters by route, trainer teams, changed stats and moves, TM locations, level caps. Hacks with no published data just get a listing page that says so honestly instead of guessing.

The team builder. A few of you asked for one that actually works with ROM hack Pokémon, not just the official dex. I spent the last few days on it and it was not fun. Some hacks change Pokémon completely: new types, new stats, new movesets, fakemon that don't exist anywhere else. So the builder reads each hack's own data. Pick the game, pick your six from a picture grid, set levels and moves from that hack's learnsets, and it shows your type coverage, weaknesses, and how you match up against every gym leader and boss in that game with their real teams. It also suggests Pokémon that fill your gaps, and you can export to Showdown. With no game selected it just uses the National Dex.

Try it here: https://romhackguides.com/team/

I think I got it to a decent place, but I know it's not perfect, especially on the weirder hacks. Please break it and tell me what's wrong or missing, and let me know what you'd want me to work on next.

Every wild encounter, trainer and boss for 47 ROM hacks (Unbound, Radical Red, Elite Redux, Soulgold, Infinite Fusion…) — no ads-wall, no ROMs

Hey all — I run romhackguides.com, a guide site for Pokémon ROM hacks and vanilla. It's a one-person thing , so I figured I'd share it here now that it's got real coverage.

What's on it

  • 47 ROM hacks with route-by-route wild encounters, every trainer's full team, gym leaders / bosses, TM & HM locations, and level caps where the hack has them — Unbound, Radical Red, Elite Redux, Emerald Kaizo, Infinite Fusion, Soulgold, SoothingSilver, Renegade/Definitive Platinum, Blaze Black 2 Redux, Emerald Rogue, Yu-Gi-Oh POKeDUEL and a lot more.
  • All 16 official games (Red/Blue through Ultra Sun/Moon) as guides too, and every hack links back to the game it's built on.
  • A National Pokédex (1,256 entries) that shows what each ROM hack changed — new typings, stats, abilities, evolutions, custom sprites — next to the official numbers. Pick a hack and it becomes that hack's dex.
  • Step-by-step walkthroughs and a "where are you in the game?" checkpoint so the site only shows what you can actually reach yet.
  • Pick a Pokémon → side panel with its stats, level-up moves and where to catch it, without leaving the page.

How you can help

If you're a hack dev and want your game on here (or want something changed/removed), just say so.

If you find a wrong number, tell me the hack + route and I'll fix it.

If there's a hack you want covered next, drop it below — I go by what people ask for.

I built a free guide site for ROM hacks and would love to feature yours (big or small)

Hey everyone,

I'm Bryan. I recently launched romhackguides.com, a free site where players can look up the info that's usually hard to find for a ROM hack: where to catch each Pokémon, trainer and boss teams, TM and item locations, move tutors, plus a Pokédex, a moves list and a compare tool.

You all are the ones doing the real work, so I want to be clear about what this is. It's not meant to replace your threads, Discords or docs. It's a single place where the average player can find the info. Every guide credits the creator and links straight to your official download page. I never host ROMs or patches.

There are 25 hacks on the site right now (Unbound, Radical Red, Emerald Rogue, Elite Redux, Polished Crystal, Renegade Platinum and more). Browsing this sub, I keep finding great projects I didn't even know existed, so I'd love to add yours. It doesn't have to be a big release. Small hacks, betas and competition entries are all welcome.

HOW TO SEND IT

Use the form at romhackguides.com/submit or email Bryan@Romhackguides.com a zip file (preferred)

WHAT TO PUT IN THE ZIP

A file called info.txt with:

- Hack name and current version

- Base game (Emerald, FireRed, Crystal, etc.)

- Your name the way you want it credited

- Official download link (Hackdex, PokéCommunity thread, GitHub, etc.)

- Your links (Discord, Reddit, YouTube, X, Patreon, website)

Any documentation you have, ideally spreadsheets or text files (CSV, XLSX, TXT or JSON; PDF works too):

- Wild encounters by area, with levels

- Trainer and boss teams (Gym Leaders, rivals, Elite Four)

- Item and TM/HM locations

- Move tutors and what they teach

- Changes to evolutions, stats, types, moves or abilities

- Starters, level caps and any new features

If your hack is a decomp with a public repo, just send the link. I can pull the data from the source.

A few ground rules:

- Please don't include ROMs, patches (.ips/.ups/.bps/.xdelta) or install files

- Name the zip after your hack, for example HackName_v1.2.zip

- Keep it under 10 MB

- Only have part of this? Send what you have. A name and a link is enough to get started

If anything about your hack on the site is wrong, or you'd rather not be listed, email me and I'll fix it or take it down.

Thanks for everything you all make. Feedback on the site is welcome too.

I built a free site with proper guides for Pokémon ROM hacks (Radical Red, Emerald hacks, GBA, Game Boy and more) because I was tired of digging through spreadsheets

Hey everyone, I built something I've wanted for years and figured this sub is the place to share it since you guys are basically the whole community.

https://romhackguides.com

The whole reason this exists is I kept running into the same problem. I'd be looking for a new hack to throw on my handheld and there was nowhere to actually compare them. Which ones are GBA, which ones are Game Boy, which ones have Gen 1 through Gen 9 mons, which ones are hard mode like Radical Red versus something more chill. Then once I picked one, finding info on it was a whole other fight. If a guide existed at all it was usually a Google Sheet or an Excel file that's miserable to use on a phone or a handheld mid playthrough.

So I made the site I wished existed. Every hack gets its own guide with the stuff you actually need while playing: wild encounters by route, trainer and gym leader teams, level caps, TM and tutor locations, evolution changes, that kind of thing. All laid out so it's easy to look up on a small screen. You can browse by system and generation and compare hacks before you commit to one. Right now it's got hacks like Radical Red, Sinking Sapphire, Heart & Soul, Modern Emerald, Uranium, Kanto Expansion Pak and more. Every guide credits the original hack author and there are no ROMs or patches hosted on the site, it's purely guides.

Honestly it started as a little guide just for Sinking Sapphire and it snowballed lol. Took me a bunch of weeks and a pretty penny. I'm kind of shocked nothing like this existed already for a community this big, so if I'm wrong and there's a site I missed, tell me.

It's still a work in progress and I want to make it the go to spot for everyone here, so I'd love input. Which hacks should I add next? What info do you always end up hunting for? Anything wrong or missing on a guide, let me know and I'll fix it. Eventually I'll add the bare minimum ads just to cover hosting and that's it. And if it takes off I'm open to a partner to help keep it updated, maybe a Discord down the road.

Put a lot of love into this. Hope it's useful to somebody.

System down policy

So what happens? It’s been down for a while. Do we get a refund if we invested in a game while it went down? Do they let it play out?

What if we’re winning. Do we get our winnings?

Apple Care Plus or case

I already have Apple care one. Nevertheless it’s only like 3 bucks a month. Is it worth putting a silicon case over the headphones? If I’m reading this subreddit they just replace it if I have Apple care for any little reason?
