Taylor swift songs that make you feel badass and invincible

After dealing with heavy criticism and hatred, it had deeply affected my mental health and made me “scared” to say the least. Taylor’s song was the only gateway to regain who I really was and put into perspective that people are MEAN and you just have to keep your head high. They really helped me.. the songs that make you feel badass and wronged, but.. badass and ultimately, help you not give a fuck. She made me feel not so alone. Reputation is exactly how I feel lol. Songs like, “this is why we can’t have nice things”, “Elizabeth Taylor”, “actually romantic”, “look what you made me do”, etc. made me feel empowered and not so alone. Any other songs that hype you up after heavy criticism and are exemplary towards everything I stated here?

mysterious, poetic short captions to post on post ideas? Nuance like.

Like how Lana Del Rey does it. Low effort it just is. Maybe even niche or created.

Lana helped me gained confidence

You could say, based on my overall vibe and appearance from the OUTSIDE I would be considered “cool and trendy”, and accepted into the popular girl table. After all, I’ve trie for so long to emulate what I thought was cool in my realm - the it girl stuff, ya da ya da ya da. Sitting at a table with girl friends, yes I was at that table, but I could never feel so different deep inside. And that’s what will never change. Even after achieving what I had considered “desirable” I still felt like I wasn’t as cool or trendy as them, like the need to buy this, buy that. But Lana had taught me to be comfortable in my, well, “darkness and deepness.” Introspectiveness was once seen as a weird thing, and her being her confident self, she made it into something cool. Great now another trend to follow, yet this I had already achieved. I had mastered all the trends actually - the new one - to be yourself, weird, and different. And that weirdness is hot and you’ll never be able to keep up.

Anyone else felt like Lana help them gain a strong confidence in themselves and who they are? Really encouraging you to “march to the beat of your own drum”. I think about that as I switch between Kylie Jenners Instagram feed and Lana’s.

Why do people flex?

Don’t know if this is necessarily the right sub for this, but -

My friend is extremely ostentatious. Why? He (as in his parents) recently bought an Alfa Romeo, which isn’t even a Rolls Royce or anything fancy. However, he constantly tells me about it and reinforces it to me that he has one. He even asked me to look up the price of it! Additionally, he posted on his Snapchat private story, showing off him eating caviar. He even shared this with a close circle friends, even those who are very close to him

Taylor songs for sleep?

Other than Lana songs I have on my sleep playlist, “Lanaby”, what are some Taylor songs I could add? For Taylor, I already have happiness, champagne problems, cowboy like me, and epiphany!

Songs to add to this playlist about just terrible men. (My dad). Or terrible in general

Illicit affairs

Shamefully, under particular circumstances, I’ve been in the “worst”, and most destructive kind of an illicit affair. I love how Taylor describes it, because though it could be about any illicitly related thing— it’s universal and accurate. In my situation, I was what you may consider the “mistress”, unfortunately, and though it could be about any wrongful relationship, every word is somehow so accurate! I was wondering if anyone else felt like that? I automatically assumed she was coming from a similar position that I was in because of her great description, then I realized it could really be anything; she just has a way of describing things so well that it’s universal. And if it was the case she was in a similar situation, I appreciate her honesty and pride for falling for it foolishly for the cause of love. So if you’re ever wondering whether to engage in an illicit affair, take my word, which is exactly hers— verbatim.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else felt similar or experienced a similar thing.

I mean these lyrics…

“And that's the thing about illicit affairs, and clandestine meetings and longing stares, It's born from just one single glance, But it dies, and it dies, and it dies, A million little times”

“Take the words for what they are, A dwindling, mercurial high, A drug that only worked, The first few hundred times”

“And you wanna scream
Don't call me "kid"
Don't call me "baby"
Look at this godforsaken mess that you made me
You showed me colors you know I can't see with anyone else
Don't call me "kid"
Don't call me "baby"
Look at this idiotic fool that you made me
You taught me a secret language I can't speak with anyone else
And you know damn well
For you, I would ruin myself
A million little times”

Am I overacting?

I want outside opinions because this has been bothering me for almost a year.

Almost a year ago, my dad asked if I wanted to go to a concert with him. I excitedly said yes. About a minute later, I told my mom, who reminded me she had already bought us tickets months earlier for the exact same artist, just at a different location. I didn’t want to see the same show twice.

I immediately called my dad back, apologized, explained the situation, and told him not to buy tickets because I was already going. He insists he had already bought them, but I know he hadn’t. He bought them anyway after I told him not to, and it honestly felt more like an impulsive, angry reaction than anything else. Then he spent months trying to make me feel guilty for not going.

The concert itself isn’t even the issue anymore.
Ever since then, he has brought it up every chance he gets. If I mention another concert, music, or even if that artist comes on in the car, he’ll shame me or guilt-trip me over that one decision. I’ve literally started skipping that artist’s songs just to avoid hearing another lecture about it.

Last night I went to a concert with my mom. Tonight, I simply told him I had a great time. Somehow, he managed to turn that into bringing up the concert from almost a year ago again (TOTALLY DIFFERENT ARTIST) and started shaming me over it.

What’s especially frustrating is that during a completely different argument a while back, he told me that instead of getting frustrated with him, I should “just tell him when something hurts my feelings.”

So tonight, that’s exactly what I did. Calmly. I told him that constantly bringing up the concert hurts me and that I’ve explained this to him over and over again. I’ve even asked him to stop in the past and made him promise he wouldn’t bring it up anymore. He broke that promise. His response? stonewalled me for the rest of the night for sticking up for myself and telling him that had really become extreme.

This isn’t an isolated incident. He has a lot of his own issues, and I’ve noticed a pattern of guilt-tripping, has a almost tick of saying things or mentioning things from the past, rewriting what happened, ignoring boundaries I’ve clearly communicated, and making me feel like I’m the unreasonable one for reacting to behavior I’ve repeatedly asked him to stop.

At this point, I’m not upset about the concert. I’m upset by the fact that he keeps using it as a weapon almost a year later, despite knowing exactly how much it bothers me.

Does this sound emotionally manipulative and immature, or am I overreacting?

Went to a concert last night..

It was a big win, because although I was nervous, I didn’t have a panic attack in a big stadium and loud noises! Concerts are a big exposure. However, is it possible to feel shortness of breath, light headedness, dizzy, trouble swallowing, etc. the next day? Even if I didn’t feel anything day of? Like an aftermath?

“Queen of empathy” - Fingertips

“I can’t help but feel somewhat like my body marred my soul, handmade beauty sealed up by two man-made walls” - Did you know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard?

“All roads that lead to you as integral to me as arteries, that pump with blood that flows straight to the heart of me” - Arcadia

“Will you still love me when I shine from words, but not from beauty?” - Young and Beautiful

“Lay, lady lay, on that side of paradise in the Tropic of Cancer” - Tomorrow Never Came

“…said he’d fix my weathervane” - Blue Banisters

“It wasn’t my ideas the cocktail of things that twist neurons inside, but without them I’d die” - Fingertips

**“**Life rocked me like Mötley, grabbed me by the ribbons in my hair, life rocked me ultra softly, like the heavy metal that you wear” - Her01n

Any Taylor songs for a "better man"

I know there is "Better Man", but that's not what I'm talking about. Are there any Taylor songs that specifically reminisce of one man while being with another, like when the current guy your with does something and you sigh and say to yourself "John would've never done that". Can't think of any right now. Thanks!
