There's a reason I try to use FedEx

I just need to vent and my cat is sleeping so she won't listen.

I frequently have clients ship me products and ask me to do some work for their marketing departments before I either send them back, or forward them on to another service provider who will do some work on them, etc., etc. FedEx both ways, always.

Tuesday afternoon (2:41pm) a client had a 5lb package picked up by Purolator (my direct client didn't know why Purolator when I asked when I replied to their 'it's on the way' email, but neither of us figured it would be a problem. lol) in Montreal to be shipped to me over night to meet a deadline for Friday.

It arrived at the Etobicoke sorting facility early Wednesday morning and sat there for almost 24 hours until 4:52am on Thursday when it arrived at a Toronto sorting facility & was "Out for delivery" at 7:38am. Cool. It's a day late, but I can still just hit that Friday deadline if I wait until the weekend to sleep.

Good fucking luck.

Not so much as walking across the street to get a coffee, I was in all day waiting for this delivery. Checked tracking countless times until, at 6:07pm it was updated to "Unable to deliver - new delivery date required" - and a notation that I'm the one who needs to arrange a new date.

I get on a live chat and am ultimately asked if I want them to attempt redelivery tomorrow or if I want them to hold for pick-up. I swear I didn't type-swear at the chatbot, but I absolutely did wake the cat up. I clarified; You mean attempt delivery. You can't REdeliver something you have not attempted to deliver. And....hold for pick-up WHERE!?!? It/they rattled on some more speaking the 'RE' tense and after asking again WHERE? was given two options, both of which are FUCKING CONVENIENCE STORES. The cat is WIDE awake now. Wait. So you CAN'T deliver it to ME, but you CAN deliver it one one of TWO THIRD-PARTY LOCATIONS?? What the actual fuck.

Jesus Christ. You're already a day late. Just bring the fucking thing tomorrow - this time actually make an effort. Fuck, at this point, call me and I'll come out and get it so you don't even have to get off your fat ass.

Anyway, deadline; not a chance. Client; pissed, but understanding. Purolator; Fucking Useless.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Why are you even here...?

M59 & F58 had a first date after a couple of days of messaging in-app. Nothing wild, just an in person drink & chat. Followed up with a txt message saying it was great meeting in person, and asking if she thought we were good for a second date & this was her reply.

Maybe being single isn't so terrible after all...

ETA: Added ages for further context - we're not kids here.

First bass in the new boat…

Bought myself an Aquaglide Blackfoot 130 kayak - in MARCH! - and was finally able to get it wet for the first time today and this solid 2-pounder commemorated the occasion by slamming a spinnerbait I ripped across the top of a weed flat in 4 feet of water. Not remotely a monster by anyone’s estimation, but man did that feel good.

I've been out of the 'game' for a hot minute...

I've been single now for roughly seven years and am starting to feel like it wouldn't suck to have a person again, however am in no rush & am not looking for hook-up dates. I've been on the app for a month, have been on a couple of dates, but would appreciate the hive mind's critique. All images were taken within the past year. Help a Gen-X'er out...?

I had my black & grey koi done in 2011 and decided it was finally time to finish it. My hand was done by a different artist than the original piece 12 days ago, and I think she understood the assignment.

Are graph sunshades worth the money & 'hassle'?

Over the past couple of months I've bought my first fishing kayak and have it all dialled in to the point I'll be ready for launch when the local water temp gets above the mid-40s (I'm on one of the Great Lakes, so it never truly gets 'warm').

I have a Garmin 95SV (running on an 18Ah LiFePO4 battery) and wonder the hive mind's opinion on sun shades (like Sonar Shield as an example), primarily for the ability to run lower screen brightness and ease of viewability. I'll be taking all of my mounted accessories off the boat when I store it between trips, so the sunshade will be a bit of a hassle to keep in a case of some sort with it still on the head unit.

Are they worth the price of admission or are they money well wasted?
