8000 speed check

Hello all. Just had the upgrade to 8000. The chap told me I didn’t need a new wall box. This is WiFi but can I check that looks like the right speed? I get confused with all the mbps stuff 🙃

Also, he failed to bring new mesh pros. My old non pro ones work but assume they are not WiFi 7?

Hermex and Nous Cloud?

Hello all. Can you use Hermex with Nous Cloud? Hermex seems to want a password and if I log into Nous Cloud, it logs in through Google? I'm not sure if I can connect the two?

Northern British accent

Hi all. I don't know if it's just me but I find Wispr does miss probably one in 30 words I say. I've got a fairly thick Northern British accent. Is that normal?

Anything I can do to improve it? (Having said that it's just got all of this right!!)

Nous Subsciption?

Just getting into Hermes, I noticed that Nous offer a direct subscription - does anybody subscribe? If so how do you find it?

I can't even find what models are included. If you got something like the ultra plan, how does that compare to getting an ultra plan from a single provider?

Does it include Hermes desktop and cloud? Currently running it on Windows and I assume the cloud would allow me to connect my account and have it connectable all of the time?

I built a Higgsfield alternative

I was a pretty big Higgsfield fan but I was getting increasingly fed up with all the ads that I had to close every time I went in to render an image. It was like a casino upselling everything and considering how much I was paying, I was getting really fed up with it. Then last week they changed the terms and I thought, 'That's it. I don't want this any more.'

So I built Renderfield - it's a bring your own key from fal.AI and has all the features that I need personally need to create AI imagery and video. Maybe others will find it useful?

https://renderfield.online/

Fun fact: as well as building the Base44 version, , I also built it in Claude directly alongside. The feature set is slightly different but essentially the same product. I just wanted to see which I preferred and which was easier. I actually feel the Base44 version is now better. Let me know if you have a preference!

Gifted printer won't print

A friend gifted me his 8020. I've tried setting it up 10+ times on different devices and it will not print. I've reset it, done a dance, and still nothing. Tried everything I can find on the web. As far as I can tell it is setup and linked.

Is it because its his ink cartridges, and I really really hope thats not the case.....

Loveable to AppStore

I expect this has been asked a million times but what’s currently the best way to get a pwa to App Store.

My app uses supabase, ai and google/apple login which I think may complicate things? Due to running costs of the ai I’d really like to add some kind of iap to try and cover the ai costs.

I looked at despia but it’s not cheap to get going. Any other solutions or thoughts?

Mobile phone order silence....

Hi all. Ordered a phone at 3pm in Tuesday with an estimated 1 business day dispatch as a new customer. That's all fine, got an email with an order number.... Then... nothing. Doesn't seem to show on my account, the order number tracking says error and no other evidence of it!

I don't mind when it comes but how do I know I even passed the credit checks?

Yes, I could phone them but I'm allergic to big company phone processes. I can't understand why there's no evidence of it in my account.

Newbie(ish) questions

My manager questioned me yesterday on why I frequently exhausted my Pro tier account limits and had upgraded to Max. His argument was that I was promting wrong, and AI is never wrong - its the way we prompt.

Now, I've not coded traditionally but this leads me to some questions:

  1. Is that right - if I prompted better, I wouldn't hit limits as often/at all. I guess I am a little chaotic bolting features on but I am using it 50% of most days. I am a natural language coder, nothing exotic!

  2. I feel AI is often/frequently wrong requiring correction

  3. AI cannot do anything and everything yet - are some things impossible to vibe code even with experience?

  4. For a basic (lets say a client rates app, takes in data, spits out things) and something more advanced (lets say gantt chart job planner), what kind of timings are we looking at? I feel apps can be coded in a few hours but that testing and refinements takes a lot of time?

Orca sync?

Hi all, is it possible in standard Orca to sync the filaments from the U1?

I'm finding my workflow to be cumbersome - if I have 4 filaments loaded on the U1 already, I load a model into Orca and the slots are the wrong way around, I need to manually unload filaments on the U1 and move them around!

Or is there a better way? I'm used to Bambu just remapping the colours for me!
