Surgery in 2 months

Surgery in 2 months

Having djs in 2 months, for breathing/airway issues, UARS diagnosis, slight nasal deviation and snoring when sleeping. This is gonna be a big relief for me to finally breath and sleep right, hopefully through the night without waking or daytime drowsiness.

Getting big movements 10mm maxilla, 15mm mandible, with genio and ccw rotation. Also having a 5mm expansion. I have a low body fat percentage at 155lbs, so I'm interested to see the physical results. But just ready and excited to get this process behind me.

Have my preop next month, anything I should discuss with the surgeon?

What did Sutton say about Heather mcdonald and/or her son for Heather to bad mouth Sutton's son on patreon?

Like the title says, Heather mcdonald went after Sutton's son on patreon after Sutton allegedly said something about one of Heather's sons.

What are your thoughts/opinions on working nights at a hospital?

I just completed my certification, applied for and received an offer to work nights at my local hospital. Large trauma 1 hospital in Southern California. What are the pros/cons of working nights in a hospital setting?

I used to be a caregiver in a retirement home and grew tired of being under staffed, under paid and unsupported, so I left the industry for a bit to work in food service. Coming back now in a new setting and working with a cna certification for the first time. Pay and benefits are good in job offer. I will be in med/surg, surgical acute is what I'm told.

Is 6 weeks enough time off work for someone who works on their feet all day?

I average about 15-18,000 steps per shift and need to be able to speak to people in my line of work. I wanted to know if 6 weeks was a reasonable amount of time to take off work for recovery?

I'll be having a splint for maxilla expansion, and double jaw surgery with some pretty big movements

Maxilla: 10mm, Mandible: 15mm with a genio & ccw rotation.

Should I request more time?

Got the job offer letter, but need 6 weeks medical leave in September

So I just got my job offer letter, but I have long standing surgery scheduled that will require 6 weeks recovery. I don't necessarily care or expect to be paid during my leave because I have saved and budgeted for a year leading up to it.

Should I bring this up to them now when accepting the offer? Or wait till it's closer to the surgery date and act like it's something that just came up?

Job offer dilemma concerned scheduled surgery in the fall

So I just completed an interview for a job and everything went really well. So much so that I was all but offered the job, but have to wait for hr to reach out with the official offer letter. My dilemma is that I have a long scheduled surgery this fall in which I'll need 4-6 weeks to recover.

Should I reach back out to the hiring manager and let her know that I have this surgery scheduled? Or should I say nothing about it and act like it was a surprise and just deal with it later when it comes up? It would literally be within 3 months of starting. The honesty might cost me the job or endear me to them, but let's real (more than likely they would pass me over)

I'm torn because on one hand, don't feel like I owe them health information, but it also seems deceitful. I don't know what I should do, because I see a future for myself here in the short term (1-2yrs), but not a career-career.

Help! 😭

Does Allied Universal provide health insurance for part positions? California

I've seen some part time positions posted that are 2 days a week, some 3 days a week. Does Allied provide health insurance for those positions?

Anyone find it weird that 2 major powerball jackpot wins in California have gone unclaimed?

I haven't seen a single news story, article or press release from the California Lottery about these two unclaimed jackpot tickets:

Arleta,Ca (near LA) $204 Millon, May 31,2025

Anaheim, CA (OC) $ 515 Million, March 30, 2025

It just strikes me as odd that, one someone would buy tickets and just be so careless, but more importantly that no effort was made to bring awareness to the deadline to claim the tickets. I remember that several times the California lottery did use servailance video to find winners who purchased the tickets.

If they actual winners don't know what they lost on, I hope they never find out and remain blissfully unaware. Because that would eat me up inside to know what I've missed out on.

15mm mandible advancement with 10mm maxilla advancement, how much with ccw rotation?

My surgeon is doing the above stated movements on me with a ccw rotation for sleep apnea and breathing issues. How much mm does a ccw rotation generally add in movement from the pog (chin)?

He's also considering a genio, but letting me decide on whether I want it as I did mention that I would like one for asthetic reasons. He said it would help with my breathing a bit too as well as being aesthetic.

Though if I decide no on the genio and if he feels that I would benefit from it while I'm under, he will go forward with it.

Is tretinoin more for wrinkles than for acne?

3rd month on tretinoin

I'm seeing improvement in diminished fine lines, particularly on the forehead area. Overall softening complexion using 0.025 cream.

I use the Actavis brand tretinoin so, I'm not sure if this is related to my concerns below. (Because the Actavis brand is very creamy, glides easy across the face, it may have added emollients)

However, I haven't seen any real improvement in my acne. I never had a "purging" phase and haven't seen much of a reduction in ance or texture at all. I'm now at nightly application of tretinoin but expected some little improvement by now.

Am I just being impatient and rushing for results?

Generally speak, I've read on here that people who get forward movements can sometimes look younger due to decreased nasal-labial folds and more eye support. I've also read that some people feel they look older in a mature way(not elederly). I know some women have felt their results make them look masculine/square.

But wouldn't a large forward movement make someone look younger, with less jowling as the skin and tissue is "stretched"?

I think for me, oddly enough, that is the most worrying part of surgery. 😬 It would seem like that would uncomfortable, even if placed/taken out while asleep.

Do they use the condom style catheter for men when doing surgery?
