Be careful swimming here - dangerous rock

I was swimming in the sea Saturday evening and my foot struck a rock about 30cm tall roughly where the pin is, and I've had to get stitches in the sole of my foot.

It's pretty much a straight line from the concrete groins.

Getting a box removed from outside flat

Bought a flat last year that the previous owner had Virgin TV G broadband. The main internet cable into the building runs down from above the front door to the Virgin box then back up to the door to go into the house.

Can I request Virgin Media to remove it if I'm not a customer? Or can I ask a sparky to remove it and reroute the fibre cable direct into my flat?

Long OSB cabinet advice

My wife wants me to make an OSB cabinet/shelves to run along the back wall of the living room, with shelves for books and small cupboards to hide DVD player, etc, like the attached photo, but about 3.6m long. The TV will be attached to the wall so no issues there, but the books are pretty heavy. I'm also not looking to attach them to the wall for support so we can take them when we move, and my wife has asked for pin legs across

I've not really played with OSB before.

Is it worth making a CLS frame underneath to distribute the weight a bit, then have a strip of OSB covering the pine?

Are standard wood screws alright with a pilot?

Roughly how many sets for legs for that length?

Would I be better off making 2 sections 1.8m long rather than making one long unit?

Casual WFH opportunities?

I work full-time on a 9-day shift pattern, looking to get some part-time work to help me pay off some debt quicker, however all the roles near me want fixed hours which I can't accommodate.

Are there any WFH areas I can regularly get about 8-15 hours/week that isn't cold-calling.

M 30s, have a BSc, ex-military and some [very] basic coding skills.

Casual work opportunities?

Does anyone have any causal work opportunities going or that they're aware of?

I already work a full-time shift job and most part-time roles want fixed hours which I can't accommodate.

Remortgaging soon - should I clear more debts before then?

My wife & I bought our first property at the start of 2025, however due to delays and me moving for a new job, I ended up having to spend a lot of money on temporary accomodation, storage & cattery fees which mostly went on credit cards. Combined with my wife struggling to find a job where we moved and unexpected house costs, I currently have about £11k across three 0% credit cards, however I also have about £15k in savings at an average of 3.5% (hence my decision to save rather than pay off.)

My pay has recently gone up to £42k so I've got a bit extra to pay off each month. I'm currently paying off £500/month, plus any extras left over at the end of the month. Our mortgage is up for renewal in December, and I'm wondering if I'm better off paying off a large chunk, if not all of it, off by November in an effort to increase my credit rating?

For context, I'll be getting a pay rise to £90k in 2028, hence why I've been happier to hold on to 0% debt and keep my savings going to accrue interest.

Employer failing to pay employee and now ghosting (England)

My partner lost her job at the start of May and picked up some work at a cafe on essentially zero hours, but working about 12 hours a week. She pressed the owner for a contract, but the owner never presented one. She worked there for about 5 weeks from May to June, but asked not to be paid in May as she was waiting for her final pay from her previous employer and didn't want the tax code mess around.

Around mid June, my wife found another job and told the cafe owner she was leaving. At the end of June, my partner noticed she hadn't been paid by the cafe, and asked why not. The cafe owner said they forgot to add her to the payroll (despite every other staff member getting paid, and my partner even reminded her that she would need to include May & June lay) that month, and would she like to be paid in cash or at the end of July. Having not had a full payslip since April, she asked to be paid in cash, but has now ghosted my partner completely, despite still adding stuff to the work group chat, that my partner is still in.

Without written contact, my wife has copied any conversations (written & voice notes) & rosters to prove working hours, etc. Total worked hours is 62, plus a calculated 7 hours of holiday pay accrual.

If she doesn't get any contact by 6th July, I've suggested that we tell the cafe we're seeking legal representation to give her a kick up the arse.

Any other suggestions besides approaching ACAS first?

This, or just VWRP?

M38, emergency funds safe, workplace pension (18% combined) & military pension at SPA.

Currently just holding VUAG (+8%), VHYL (+4%) & IAG (+120%).

Trying to avoid too much tech crossover (hence an ex-US ETF). Haven't had much spare cash the last 4 years due to house purchase & my partner losing her job. Aiming for £300/month until 2028 when I'll be able to put in at least £1,000/month.

Worth the mix, or just VWRP & chill...?

Screen fade - is this the slow end to my Ambit Peak?

Ambit Peak 3, bought 9 years ago and barometer replaced once.

I've noticed the text has been a lot lighter than its normal colour balance the last few days. Is this the start of its full decline at all, or just something temporary perhaps? I was planning to upgrade in 11 months for my 40th birthday.
