How important are variations of an exercise ?

I hear a lot "do preacher curls to hit the short head, spider curls to hit the long head and hammer curls to hit the brachialis", and same for chest, triceps, shoulders, glutes, forearms, always two or three variations. And if I try to implement them all, my workouts are gonna last three hours everytime.

Is it that important to do all variation, or do each variation actually hit all of the heads in every muscle group and just picking one is enough ? Or does it depend the case ?

Good youtube podcasts ? As a total beginner

I hate listening to the same playlist when I workout so I'm giving podcasts a try. I don't have spotify, I use a (free) app that lets me download videos from youtube. Been my number one since I'm 10 and I love it like my son. Still drop some spotify podcast in case, if an overwhelming majority of the comments are spotify, I'll subscribe I guess.

My potential interests are (feel free to stretch) :

Anything queer/gay (drag, comedy, history, art, politics...)
Cooking (history, science, geography)
Science/medicine/psychology
Sociology
Art (history, technique)
Fashion (history, technique)

Thanks a lot :)

Beginner runner as a weightlifter ?

So I've always been overweight but never too out of shape. Defended myself during sprint at school. Hold myself with much thinner people than I (not the taller though). Never been much of an endurance runner but I'm not a "run ten meters and stop". I have a minimum of cardio still (let's say there's one type of cardio I do to prove it)

I never took cardio seriously but I'm getting close to the end of a weight loss phase and the wait becomes excruciating, so I wanna speed up the process a bit. I plan on using the treadmill after my workout session.

So my questions are : given I'm considering doing the "couch to 5k" method, and that I wear regular flat shoes for my workouts (more stable) : 1. is it necessary to have a dedicated pair of running shoes ? 2. what's a decent speed to start at ?

Any naturally occuring food that is naturally sweet and fat ?

I heard a guy on tiktok say that the reason fat and sugary foods feel like drug is that food are either sweet (fruits) or fat (avocado, nuts, meat) but not both. The only thing fat and sweet is breast milk and we have an instinct to eat as much of it as possible.

And out of curiosity, I wonder if indeed there's not a natural food that is both sweet and fat

Leg day makes me sick ?

Leg day has always felt worse than the other days, but seeing the memes about it, I didn't worry too much.

But recently, my leg days are almost always cut short because I become lightheaded and nauseous, and I often puke in the 5 minutes after the workout.

It's usually during the bulgarian split squat, so it might be the movement, but I don't have this problem during push-ups (and I don't push myself any less with push-ups). Bulgarian split squat is also at the end of my routine, I could see if it's better if I start with it, idk.

Anyone else feels/has felt similarly ?

How do I do the biceps varients ?

I hear a lot that normal preacher curls do no hit all the biceps muscles and that I should do one variation for the long head, another for the short head and one last for the brachialis...

What they don't say is, given we work in 3 sets of 12, am I supposed to do 3 sets of each or 1 of each to have three sets for the biceps in total ?
