Any cactus experts in here? ☹️

Long story short I thought I found some scale on my cactus so I followed instructions on how to kill it. I sprayed with insecticide, picked off the scale, hosed her down with water, then sprayed again at night so she wouldn’t get scorched during the day. A couple days later I come outside to see this! Did I completely destroy my cactus? What should I do? I took her out of her pot she came in, roots look perfectly fine as far as I can tell. The weird bumps took over before the black ensued shortly after. Thanks in advance 🙏🏽

How often do you water?

How often do you add water to your self-watering reservoirs for your starter alocasias? Do you top pour then leave the rest over in the reservoir? Thanks in advance 🫶🏽🌿💓

Fungus gnat toying with death 😂

I’ve been watching this fungus gnat fly everywhere except for the sticky parts of my drosera inside my terrarium and it’s been so frustrating 😂

Variegated frydek 😭💫🤍🌿

An Etsy seller freaking gifted this beauty to me with my order! I don’t have space in my terrarium though… guess I’ll just have to buy a whole new one 🤣

Ahh so excited! 🌿💓✨

Had to convince my bf this would make cute decor and he eventually agreed and helped me put it together 🤣 caught him staring at them earlier! 🥰🌱

What is this? 🥲🌱

Hi, I’ve noticed these gold-ish specs on the top leaves of my rubber tree. Are these bugs? Some of them look completely flat or just like stains but I can’t be sure. Tried my best to photograph them well. Thanks in advance 🫶🏽

Are they black spots of death? 😭🌿

Seems like so far, it’s only on this specific leaf. Picked her up from Lowe’s and noticed one little patch of that black. But over the course of 2 weeks I’ve noticed it spreading. Is it fungal? Thanks in advance 👋🏽

Just to add, she was completely water logged when I picked her up. The soil was so soaked and dripping. She lost a really pretty leaf from moisture, it just fell right off and was soggy at the joint. I’ve let her dry out and repotted her in my chunky mix. And one more note-roots looked great which was my initial concern.

Stingray Alocasia! 🌿💫

Found this gorgeous specimen tucked in between the monstera madness at Lowe’s. It’s the size of my bf’s torso and was $24!!!

Ants are in my greenhouse!

Just spotted 2 ants in my little terrarium greenhouse. What should I do? I’m quarantining a few because I found little crawlers, I’m assuming spider mites. ☹️ Chatgbt is saying it’s because I’m creating humidity with LECA tray? How do I maintain humidity for them without one? I just removed all the LECA and put it outside.

What is this? 🤔🌱

I noticed this tiny little shoot on my black velvet. It popped up and now it’s been like that for about a week or so. I thought it was a leaf at first but it looks harder than a new leaf. Is it a corm? Should I be excited? I’m new to alocasias so looking to ask the experts. 😊

Is this normal? 🌿🤔

Purchased this Silver Sword Philodendron from a local nursery about 2 weeks ago. Curious if all of these spots, tears, and holes, are just natural aging? Are they sun burn? Bugs? Just a sassy guy? Thanks in advance 😊

Need help identifying 🌱

I was told that the left was an alocasia sanderiana and the right is a new wentii but they don’t match the photos I’ve seen of both plants. I’m happy regardless but just curious if anyone in here would happen to know. Thanks in advance 🤗

I am convinced that plant people are the best people… 🌱

I bought a pink polly from a gal on fb marketplace. She then welcomed me into her home, gave me 4 more alo babies for free…… and her hubs handed me a bottle of wine on my way out. Made 2 new friends faster than I ever have in my life. Plant people are the best people ever. 😭🫶🏽🌱

Day 1, day 4, day 6!

I saw this sad little guy at my local Ace hardware last Thursday. Leaves were crunchy and dry, and I had no idea what kind of plant it was. The guy at the counter just gave it to me for free (he probably thought I was a weirdo for wanting it LOL). I cut its stem at a bent point and unleashed this cutie leaf. Had absolutely no clue this would happen!

Advice needed 🏜️🥀

I watched a YouTube video on how to plant and propagate your first desert rose. It arrived in the mail seemingly in good condition (photo 1 before propagation). I followed every instruction to a T (photo 2). For the propagation part, he said to cut the top, wait a week for it to dry out, then replant. By day 2, the cut stem was getting soft so in a desperate state I repotted early (photo 3). Both the main caudex plant and propagated stem aren’t doing too hot. Not sure what to do or where to place them. The main plant is losing all leaves and the propagated stem in the other pot is sagging.☹️

Newest family member 🌱🤍

Can’t stop looking at her! Just bought from a local grower for $60 and grabbed her the instant she popped up on fb marketplace. The mother plant was unbelievable. I have her placed in almost same setting/conditions as the seller had hers. Any albo tips? 😊

Is this princess orange or pink?

Whichever she is, I’m obsessed! Bought her for $24 from Ace hardware 😭
