Any lawyers or litigants here who frequent the Madurai Bench of MHC? - I built an app and need some feedback!

I’ve been developing an app to help people navigate and track cases at the Madras High Court. I know how complicated keeping up with court listings and updates can be, so I built MHC Court Pulse to hopefully make it a bit easier 👉 https://mhclive.nammamap.in/

[Website] MHC Court Pulse : a real-time Live Board and Cause List tracker for the Madras High Court

Hi everyone,

I’m not a lawyer myself—just a techie who stumbled onto how the Madras High Court currently displays its cause lists and live boards. Honestly, I couldn't believe you all have to constantly refresh PDFs or a clunky website just to figure out when a case is going to be heard.

So, as a weekend project, I built MHC Court Pulse (https://mhclive.nammamap.in/) to modernize the experience.

Here is what it does:

  • Live Board: Shows exactly which case is being heard in each court, updating automatically every 2 minutes. No refreshing needed.
  • Instant Search: Search the entire day's cause list instantly by case number or party name (for both Madras and Madurai benches).
  • Push Notifications: You can tap the "bell" icon on any case. The app will send you a browser notification when your case is about 5 items away from being called.
  • Order History: Tap any case to instantly pull up its previous daily orders with direct PDF links.

The tool is completely free, mobile-friendly, and has no ads.

Is it finally time to switch to Solar?

Over 40 section offices across 20 districts have planned maintenance scheduled for today. That means a huge portion of Tamil Nadu will be coping with the heat during an all-day power cut. 🥵

If we take the unannounced intermittent powercuts into consideration, the number will be higher than this. Look at the attached image — nearly the entire map is lit up with disruptions.

With the recent reports of an impending El Niño bringing even higher temperatures and drought conditions, our grid is going to face massive strain. Relying heavily on hydroelectric power means that when water levels drop, power cuts are bound to become more frequent. Honestly, investing in solar energy right now feels like the smartest move we can make

Crowdsourcing TNEB power outage section mappings

Quick context: TNEB (Tamil Nadu's electricity board) publishes scheduled shutdown notices, but the raw data is unstructured and doesn't map cleanly to geographic locations. I built a scraper + AI geocoder that plots these on a map, but a lot of entries end up with approximate or missing location data because the upstream info has inconsistent spellings, missing section hierarchies, etc.

What I need help with:

If you know which TNEB Section Office covers your area, you can verify the mapping directly on the outage cards at outage.nammamap.in. Each card has a "Verify Section" button (for unmapped/approximate entries) or "Mark Incorrect" (for wrongly mapped ones).

Verifying with your consumer number's first 5 digits auto-confirms the mapping instantly. Without the consumer number, it goes into a review queue — still helpful, just slower.

The more local verifications we get, the fewer entries show up as "Approximate" or "Unmapped" and the better the map works for everyone.

No account needed. Takes ~30 seconds per verification. Every small town verification is especially valuable since the AI geocoder handles metro areas okay but struggles with rural/semi-urban circles.

About 2 weeks ago, I shared a simple prototype of NammaMap with just TNEB data (Original Post)

From the feedback + that exploration, one clear problem stood out:

>We don’t know which authority actually covers our area.

So the core idea became:

Tap anywhere → see who covers that area
(police station, ration shop, local body, etc.)

Not a contact directory — just a clear
