Dexcom G7

First time using a CGM and not a big fan of needles, but I’m used to using the finger sticker. Unit failed during warmup after three minutes. Is this a common occurrence? If it is, I think I might pass.

A1c 9.4

I just want to post this for the folks out there that have a high A1C and are afraid all is lost. I had labs done in the US for the first time in years and I knew my T2 wasn’t great… 9.4 is what I got. Talked to the doc and the dietician… no changes to my meds, just started focusing on my diet (high protein, low fat, low carb) and in 7 days, I’ve moved my average from 256mg/dL to 164 mg/dL.

I still have a long way to go, but I put off taking care of myself for so long I thought I was a lost cause. Turns out, you can do it.

ANR Headset Choice

Hey guys. I have a set of DC 13.4s but want to get back to a set on ANRs. I had some Bose A20s but sold them a while back when I discontinued training when I shipped overseas.

I’m trying to decide between A30s and Zulu 4s. I don’t need TSO’d headsets. I fly for fun not money.

Should we start removing advertisements?

We are getting a lot of posts for phone apps, websites, etc. Does the community see value in these discussions or do you not like it? Seems to me there’s a lot of reinventing the wheel type things being flogged.

Question: What do you guys do for eye protection in the cockpit?

I’ve had mixed luck with sunglasses being able to reduce glare in the cockpit when flying in the direction of the sun. I’ve been using Randolph aviators, but they’re not my favorite and pinch with a headset on. Interested in your experience.

Pope approves creation of Interdicasterial Commission on Artificial Intelligence

Pope Leo XIV approved the creation of an Interdicasterial Commission on Artificial Intelligence in a rescript dated May 12, released on May 16, and signed by Cardinal Michael Czerny, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

Considering “the development in recent decades of the phenomenon of Artificial Intelligence and the most recent accelerations in its widespread use; its potential effects on human beings and on humanity as a whole; the Church’s concern for the dignity of every human person, especially in relation to their integral development; Pope Leo XIV approved the establishment of a Interdicasterial Commission on Artificial Intelligence,” the text reads.

The Pope approved the creation of the body following an audience with Cardinal Czerny on May 3. The Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development will coordinate the work of the Commission for the first year.

Moving to MA from Germany

I took the class and applied for my LTC over a month ago and MIRCS has the status as "PENDING LICENSING OFFICER REVIEW" for like a month. Does this mean it's with the State or is it still at my local PD?
