Would you give a chance if you know the communication skill isn't a match?

F/40 M/55

The guy that i just talked to, he asked me this question "can you tell me about yourself?".

It feels like a job interview really, or am i wrong to feel this way?

Before this, i asked him questions (one step at a time) instead of saying "can you tell me about yourself".

I expressed this feeling to him that i feel like i am in a job interview. And his answer was like "i am sorry i feel like i keep puting my foot in it".

And i replied "i get you, i know it wasn't mean badly".

Then he replied "it's up to you. I think your sick is taking on toll on you. You need to rest and bla bla".

I feel the communication skill didn't match at all? Or do i expect too much?

This miscommunication happened before he asked me "tell me about yourself" (which made me super confused about what he was trying to get from me).

HIM: For me messaging like this gets tiresome after awhile and repetitive , adults should be able to communicate with each other

ME: What do you mean?

HIM: I’m actually a good communicator and enjoy talking to people face to face on FaceTime

But for me most people think it’s pushy to ask for that ?

ME: I don't have facetime.

I don't think so

HIM: Ah ok 👍 I mean on video chat

ME: Sure we can do that later don't worry

HIM: Relax 😎 also you have to understand the cultural differences too

ME: Not sure what you're trying to say

HIM: I just mean I like chatting and talking it super healthy I think 🤔 Nothing crazy

Which dating app is easy to register these days?

I just found out today that Tinder, not only they required me to provide an email and phone number but also a biometric (facial video), it's mandatory.

And another dating website required me to attach my id card picture. Not only that, they asked me to pay just to see a message that i got.

I think that's crossed the line. We pay to submit our personal data to a company we didn't work for or own.

My nanny kid always holding a grudge towards me and it's taking a toll.

At first i was not sure but now i see the pattern.

I have been working for this family for about 8 months. I am taking care of a 3 year old girl.

What should i do?

It really drained me mentally. Now it's difficult for me to go to sleep and to get up in the morning as i feel the anxiety kicks in every time i think about this kid.

Every single time, since the beginning, i try to set my boundaries and discipline her, and every single time I don't follow her words, she will punish me the next day and cause scenes for WEEKS. To the point it doesn't make sense anymore.

Example :

# Yesterday, when her Mom was trying to put her nap, the kid said she wanted to nap with me. Later when we were in bed, she changed her mind and asked for her mom, and later asked for her dad also (this happened a lot, she changed her mind every second and her mom already explained to her that she can't change her mind like that, like it's nothing. And she always ignored it when she was with me). And i know if i let her escape her room for mom/dad, her parents wouldn't be happy with it. So i set my boundaries, and I stick with her mom's words. I stayed with her until she fell asleep (it took a lot of negotiation and "discipline tone" for her to follow my words).

# Then the next day, when i came in the morning, the kid told me about the pizza dough that she took from the fridge and i asked her "oh you're gonna cook a pizza?" And she yelled on top of her lungs with an angry face "NOOOOO!!!!" That was our 1st convo in the morning and it's already that bad. Following the day, every time I say something she will yell and hit me. Like if i say "Hi girl" her reply was "NOOOO!!!" then hit me with her hand.

And her parents think there's something wrong with me. It's like i have failed to be a professional Nanny for this family.

I feel like i am being punished for doing the right thing for this kid.

#'UPDATE : Imagine being that self-righteous over a stranger asking for advices online. Using 2nd, 3rd, and 4th accounts for stalking and spamming my post just because I didn’t agree with you is actually insane. Relax, ANGELs! 😂
