People with EBF 7/8mo can you share your last WW activities and bed time routine?

Ive posted before that Im struggling to get bedtime right. No matter when we start the wind down and have the routine, LO is always irritated. Its like the witching hour never stopped and I thought it would be now? She falls asleep just fine once on the boob but the last 90min before including the routine (nappy, pjs, cream, sack) she just grumbles through annd if Im not fast enough full meltdown.

Can you please share your timestamp and activities of the last bit of the day so I can get some inspiration please?

Is this 4m regression? EBF baby comfort nurses ALL NIGHT

hi everyone,

this sub is amazing so I firstly want to thank everyone who posts and comments. Such great communit.

Now my 4.5mo was before sleeping 8pm-1am, 1am-4am, 4am-8/7am, nursed to sleep at 8pm and then big feed at 1am and 4am. From 4am she was always in a very light sleep so I had to actively keep her asleep (cuddle, hand on chest, boob for comfort). We bed share.

For almost two weeks things have been changing and I believe it’s the regression I just need some reassurance as I’ve been good with sleep deficit so far but it’s starting to get me.

She fights bedtime. She is definitely tired, the last wake window is 2.5h and she shows all the cues but when I actually try and nurse her to sleep she takes even 1.5h and then we have a false start. Then she is up every 60-90min, sometimes even after 5min. I tried putting her down in a different way and she did not like that.

She wants to comfort nurse constantly but I can’t sleep like that as it gives me pelvic pain when I’m on my side for so long. As soon as I move she wakes up. What works sometimes is that I cuddle her but even then I can’t move at all as she wakes up immediately.

I’m just trying to understand if this is the regression or something else I may have caused. Everywhere talks about how they are up between cycles but she also struggles with sleep during the cycle so I’m just confused.

Additional info: day time naps are around 3h normally 30min, until recently she was an exclusive contact napper but with the heat we’ve had I pushed for more independent naps as we were cooking each other in the carrier.

Husband help sometimes from 5/6am but he struggles to keep her asleep which then creates more problems. He can’t help more, he is a medical professional and needs to be fresh, sleeps in the guest bedroom.

Any advice or reassurance is welcome! Thank you

MA didn’t receive my KIT days - I got a declaration to sign in the post - normal?

hi

so I’m self-employed and I returned to work earlier in June.

I tried to call to report any changes but the waiting time has always been more than an hour and a half so I always send a letter instead.

I reported return to work with renaming KIT days but I noticed they still paid me so I called, finally got through and they told me that they still paid me because they didn’t know that I’ve done all my KIT days. Apparently they didn’t get my letter (stupidly I just used stamps from home and not signed for !) from a few months ago where I updated them on my KIT days. They told me to call back and confirm the dates as I didn’t have them on me when I was on the phone with them so I did that the following day and now I got in post a declaration that they want me to explain why I haven’t told them about my KIT days before returning to work.

This is basically because the letter was lost, but obviously I am worried that I’m in trouble has anybody else received this? Thanks.

4mo baby - which potty?

My 4m LO and I have a lovely morning routine - I change her nappy, we do skin on skin in bed while she is still sleepy and as she is resurfacing I sit her on my belly in somewhat of a squatting position and she always poops. A friend who does EC suggested I sit her on a potty to get her used to it as it’s a perfect opportunity since she poops 99% of the time when we do that.

can anyone recommend a potty that used with such a small baby ? thanks

4m sleep regression- do I really need to stop nursing to sleep?

So we’ve hit the sleep regression, LO is up after every sleep cycle ftom 11pm. She has one longer stretch from 8pm-11pm.

there’s a lot of advice about sleep associations and that you should stop nursing to sleep at this point and try other soothing methods.

But I don’t get it. For context I’m EBF, she is 15w and e we also cosleep. When she wakes up, giving her the boob is the easiest thing. I can feed her side lying and often she is asleep after a few minutes because she was just comfort feeding back to bed. It seems much easier than patting her, getting up and rocking her or anything really. Feeding is the least energy consuming option for me. I don’t need to leave the bed, I don’t even need to sit up.

In my understanding it’s just replacing one soothing mechanism with another. So is the advice mainly for bottle fed babies? Or non cosleeping? Am I missing something?

Can I just have some validation and reassurance please?

I deleted the IG app when I was in the third trimester and redownloaded again once baby was around 5weeks to follow certain baby groups in my area etc (real social stuff) but of course I get all these ads and reels about newborns etc.

I’m sure there is the odd unicorn baby but for the majority of us….its brutal, right?

I am super resilient and flexible person, everybody says how I make motherhood look effortless (lol) and how strong I am and I agree because I have a positive mindset and kind of “get on with the hard stuff” personality BUT it’s effing brutal, it’s not like I’m thriving - like some of the social media posts and accounts want you to believe.

Is motherhood beautiful? Yes. Would I change anything? No.
Are the newborn cuddles the best ? Yes.

But those are fleeting moments that alright keep you going they overall make it brutal and survival mode. It’s the best but also the worst… all these posts make me feel like it shouldn’t only be “the best”.

So I’m not only right? Most mums don’t get 8h sleep every night, easy breastfeeding journey, baby naps independently, has no colic, has no reflux, has no gas…?

Right?

As the title says, I have a major contact napper and we go out for walks 2/3 times a day so she sleeps. I also take her hiking. My feet are hurting as. I still carry some extra pregnancy weight and she is getting heavier every day.

I wanted to get the Anacapa breeze but then I was worried the might not be spongy enough and I also though they might not be ideal for when I walk to town on pavement?
Then I was looking at transport 2...

I am new to Hokas, my husband buys them but for different purposes so cant help me lol

Thanks
