Last night my friends and I were gonna cruise the new Route 66 in ATS. Booted it up a few minutes early and all my bindings were gone so I remapped them no problem. Then realized I was missing a DLC, so I bought it and rebooted the game. That's when the problems started.

None of the wheel buttons are recognized in ATS anymore. I tried

• "configured" ATS in Pit House
• verified game files in Steam
• tested with other USB ports
• deleted and reinstalled MOZA drivers
• checked for Pit House updates, it's on release version
• reinstalled Pit House (which also removed my presets, thanks for that)
• tested both stick modes, d-pad and button, neither works
• "recovered" the wheel in experimental tab
• checked if it still works with FH6, which it does, no issues
• checked if the buttons are shown in the test tab of joy.cpl, which I don't think they are, but honestly not sure
• checked if the pins were bent or greasy but everything looks fine

Wheel base is an R9 and wheel is the TSW. FWIW I have 100+ hours on this setup in ATS and it's never had any issues.

What do?

Jumped on for about an hour yesterday, joined a team and went hunting but did not find any infestations. None.

So I looked up the nuka knights infestations map. After running the route twice I STILL couldn't find any.

So then I just opened the map and waited. After about 10 minutes, this is what happened. It appears for half a second and disappears. How is this supposed to even be playable, let alone fun??

Even though the questline is completed, it apparently unlocked all the skills except this one. Went through all the dialogue options, nothing. Even went searching for him at the testing stations from the quests.

Some posts have a similar issue but not this exact issue. Most of them seem to suggest that maybe I missed a dialogue option, idk. Not having this passive won't kill me but it would be nice to have the option.
