upcycling i7 980x to a linux htpc that i can run steam (hopefully)

The replacement

A long time ago, I built this as my Maya workstation.

Parts that changed over the years:

PSU: SevenSteam 750 > CoolerMaster 750

GPU: ATI Radeon 5870HD > RX580 8gb

Air Cooler: Stock Intel > CoolerMaster Hyper 212

Storage: 256gb HDD > 1tb ssd

Big ass fans: CoolerMaster > Bitfenix

My current workstation is an r9 3900x with a 3080ti. I need a new workstation & saw a good bundle at MicroCenter so I pulled the trigger.

I'm gonna keep this case... they don't make cases like these anymore. I don't care for the weight & fragility that comes with TG cases (except for beQuiet's light base series). I'm gonna mod it by:

removing the floppy drive cage

update pop up io panel

vinyl wrap in satin black

3d print front intakes

thinking of moving the front 230mm fan higher to where the floppy drive cage is or adding another 200mm above the 230, idk

also thought about using the bottom intake to feed air to gpu

what do you guys think?
