Looking for advice on fall aeration/overseeding vs Weed Control

I’m in Delaware and looking for some advice on my lawn. I have about 10,000 sq ft total. The front is probably around 75% grass, while the backyard is closer to 50-60% grass, with a decent amount of weeds, especially in the backyard.

I’d like to improve the lawn rather than completely start over. My plan was to core aerate and overseed this fall with a good turf-type tall fescue. I’m considering paying someone to do the aeration and then spreading the seed myself to save some money.

A few questions:

  • Am I too late to aerate and overseed? It’s currently early October.
  • What soil/air temperatures should I be looking for before doing it?
  • Should I deal with the weeds first, or is it better to get the seed down ASAP and deal with the weeds afterward?
  • There are quite a few weeds in the backyard, but I still have a decent amount of desirable grass. I don't want to kill off the existing lawn.
  • Is dethatching necessary? I could have it done, but I don't think I have a major thatch problem.
  • Would you recommend paying someone for core aeration and doing the overseeding myself?
  • What seed blend/cultivars would you recommend for this region? I'm leaning toward turf-type tall fescue.
  • If I miss the window this fall, is spring aeration/overseeding a reasonable alternative, or would it be better to wait until next fall?

I'm mainly trying to figure out the best sequence and timing rather than just throwing seed down and hoping for the best.

My biggest question is whether getting the weeds under control should be the priority, or whether I should prioritize getting the seed down while conditions are still good.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What Are the Best Dynasty Resources in 2026?

I have my dynasty startup draft coming up and pick near the top of the first round.

I've been playing dynasty for a while, but I'm looking to expand my process beyond the usual rankings and consensus advice.

What dynasty resources, rankings, podcasts, analysts, websites, or subscription services do you find most valuable?

Right now I use things like KeepTradeCut, FantasyCalc, and various expert rankings, but I'm curious what everyone else is using in 2026.

What resources have genuinely improved your decision-making and results? Any hidden gems or underrated analysts that deserve more attention?

3-Day Full Body Split That Balances Strength & Hypertrophy – Feedback Wanted

I’ve been experimenting with full-body splits lately trying to blend strength and hypertrophy without spending forever in the gym. My goal is to get stronger on the big lifts (squat, bench, deadlift, etc.) while also putting on some size. I'm a relatively novice (around 1 year) but I feel I get a bit of analysis paralysis at this point and not making as good of gains and I should/can. I've also tried more traditional novice programs like Starting Strength and StrongLifts. I understand why they're recommended and they definitely have their merits but I get bored doing the exact same lifts every workout and eventually lose motivation.

Here’s the setup I’ve been thinking about running and it’s essentially a 3-day program with a 4-day template (A/B/C/D) rotated over 3 days/week. I did multiple types of days to alternate the large lifts to 3×5 and 3×8 on the other day that week like Ivysaur 448.

Week 1: A → B → C
Week 2: B → C → D
Week 3: A → B → C

Day A

  • Bench Press 3x5
  • Barbell Row 3x5
  • Squat 3x8
  • Dips 3x10-12
  • Lat Pulldown 3x10
  • Lateral Raises 3x12-15
  • Hanging Leg Raises 3x10-15

Day B

  • Deadlift 3x5
  • Overhead Press 3x8
  • Pull-ups/Assisted Pull-ups 3x8
  • Incline Bench 3x8-10
  • Chest Fly 3x10-12
  • Cable Row 3x10
  • Cable Crunch 3x12

Day C

  • Bench Press 3x8
  • Barbell Row 3x8
  • Squat 3x5
  • Dips 3x10-12
  • Lat Pulldown 3x10
  • Lateral Raises 3x12-15
  • Hanging Leg Raises 3x10-15

Day D

  • Romanian Deadlift 3x8
  • Overhead Press 3x5
  • Pull-ups/Assisted Pull-ups 3x5
  • Incline Bench 3x8-10
  • Chest Fly 3x10-12
  • Cable Row 3x10
  • Cable Crunch 3x12

I feel like this program would get me to go consistently but am I overthinking this? Any advice or tweaks would be super appreciated.

Best Golf Instructors in Delaware or Southern Philly Suburbs?

I'm looking for recommendations for a golf instructors in Delaware or the southern Philadelphia suburbs (Media, Newtown Square, Springfield, West Chester, etc.).

I'm less concerned about finding the cheapest option and more interested in finding a great instructor with a strong reputation and a track record of helping golfers improve. Bonus if they use technology like TrackMan, Foresight, video analysis, or other modern teaching tools.

Has anyone worked with an instructor in the area that they would highly recommend? I'd like to hear about your experience, what you liked about their teaching style, and whether you felt it was worth the cost.
