I am new to meshcore. I have a couple devices like a T-deck and a couple Heltec v4 working as companion and repeater.

My Heltec v4 with phone was making my watch buzz every 20 seconds announcing new repeaters mostly, then after an hour or two it told me the contact list was full at 350. I went into the settings and stopped auto-adding repeaters to the contact list - but why do I even care about all these repeaters in my list at all?

Is it a bad idea if I delete all the repeaters from my contacts and keep auto-add repeaters turned off?

I have a new T-deck plus. I installed ripple 10.1 firmware and configured it for USA MeshCore. Initially I used the build that stores data on the micro SD card, and added some alternate sound effects.

It basically works fine for an hour or two then stops showing any new messages in Public channel and stops showing new or updated advertised nodes.

Google tells me there can be SD card conflicts with SPI bus. To debug I have removed the SD card altogether and reflashed it with the no-sd-storage version. It it still stops receiving RF date and doesn’t seem to recover.

Any idea what might be going on here?

Sorry for what seems like a dumb question: I am new to meshtastic and just got a T-Deck Plus today (with UBlox meshtastic firmware 2.70) . I turned it on and configured my short and long names and after a bit sent a message on LongFast saying “15:42 testing - anyone there?” And didn’t get any response initially. I actually fell asleep for a couple hours and then woke up and the screen was off and I pressed the trackball and the screen woke up and immediately the speaker chirped and a response came on the screen “883f 18:02 [MeshADV1W BOT] is online: responds to ack/test/testing when received via radio.”

This happened so fast I was confused, did the message arrive at the exact instant I woke up the screen or was the message already received and it waited until I woke up the screen and then squawked? That seems like quite a coincidence but the timestamp on the response (18:02) is when I woke it up.

Also, it seems like the responder is telling me to send test messages to some automated system [MeshADV1 BOT] - can I do that? Enter a new device name and send it a targeted message? I can’t seem to find a way to do that.

Recently (prior to 2026.20.3, not sure what version was last) my car doesn’t seem to realize when I reach a destination. Like I tell it to take me home at the end of the day and it does, then the next morning I pull out of my home and onto the road and engage FSD and it immediately turns on the signal and wants to navigate back to the house. Or FSD takes me to the store, then after shopping I get in the car and start driving and engage FSD and it plots some U-turn route and turns on the signal. I have to manually press “End Trip” after every trip now, never had to do this before unless I was at the end of some large parking lot not close to the store door. Anyone else seeing this?

My sister needs a new car and she wants to get an EV. I visited her last month and installed a 50A 240V NEMA 14-50 Leviton EV plug in her garage in anticipation of charging at home. Her parking area is small and budget won’t accommodate a new vehicle so she is looking at second hand smaller EVs like 2017-2018 BMW i3 or Fiat 500e. She drives less than 100 miles a week so range isn’t a huge deal but the 500e seems very limited. I thought the i3 was the way to go but I’m reading conflicting information about charging at home, can the i3 charge at L2 from the 50A 240v outlet? Will the car include an appropriate charge cord or would she need to purchase one?

I live at the bottom of a slope on a relatively moderate lot, about half of the property is a hill that is mostly greenbelt. At the top of the slope is another house that’s part of a neighborhood. The house uphill from me has what I believe is an undocumented / possibly illegal connection to the sanitary sewer on my property. I have a proper documented side sewer connection that runs between my house and my next door neighbor (not the one uphill). I was not aware of this uphill sewer until recent construction. The sewer goes uphill toward the house at the top and is at unknown depth and most of the slope is greenbelt but I would like to build a garage at the bottom of the slope or make other improvements. Their domestic water also follows probably the same route and their water meter is on a corner of my property, possibly in the utility easement. Recently I came home and some (non-city, non-water company) worker was frantically poking around my property looking for the water meter shutoff for the uphill house. I moved some things and showed him the meter box and he tossed a lot of stuff around and ultimately there was no leak there and it was not necessary to be on my property at all. There is no easement on my property for the lines that cross up the hill. I am also concerned about liability if there is a water line break or a sewer problem that would require clearing or work or damage to my property. The house uphill has recently changed owners. The other houses in the uphill neighborhood are not connected to this one’s water or sewer. How can I approach getting this sewer and water supplies off my property, or moved so they don’t infringe my land use rights? Is there any chance I could get stuck with a prescriptive easement - the lines have probably been there for 40+ years. I only became aware of the sewer within the last 2 years. At a bare minimum I want to be indemnified from having to pay for any remediation or damages to the protected part of the hillside and I want to be covered for any losses I might incur as a result of anything going wrong with these lines.

I want to make some environmental sound recordings of things like frogs (croaking and peeping) and crickets. I need some nighttime sounds, away from traffic.

I have heard frogs over the years near some creeks but I’m not sure where to find any right now (or if it’s even the right time of year).

Also interested in other nighttime and daytime nature sounds besides these.

I have had my model S for years but haven’t taken many road trips until the last couple weeks, I took a trip about 700 miles each way. Several times I would be in the left lane in a line of cars matching the traffic speed and there would be some 18-wheeler in the center or right lane going slower and as I am passing them the truck veers into my lane about 1 foot over the lane divider without any signal. It’s not like I was camping in the blind spot, there’s cars ahead of me and behind me and most of the way trucks are not even supposed to use the left lane. It happened too many times to be a coincidence.
