Do you get a closer leg shave with a safety razor or a cartridge razor?

I got a Henson AL13 in 2022 and have been shaving my legs with it every week or so since (swapping the blade every few shaves). I like using the Henson, it didn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin, and it seemed like it got a pretty smooth shave, but recently I forgot to pack it before traveling and bought a disposable Gillette Venus razor to tide me over at my destination. I hate to say it, but I feel like I got a closer and smoother shave with the Gillette over the Henson. It was also way faster, even with my longer legs and thick body hair. It has me feeling a bit mad about it, honestly, especially considering the price for cartridge razors. I'm very curious if you folks have had similar experiences, or still prefer safety razors above all.

[Routine Help] AzA gel causing shiny skin patches?

I started using Altreno earlier this year (was using Differin previously) and added azelaic acid gel 15% alongside the tret because I heard they work really well together. But I feel like it's making the general condition of my skin worse. I have used different retinoids (RetinA Micro, Biacna, Differin and Differin XP, Altreno's my latest) for many years with success, they work great with my face and especially for clearing up acne, but I just can't get azelaic acid gel (generic or Finacea) to work.

My latest try with azelaic acid gel has left me with shiny dry (?) patches of skin all over my face (added it to my routine 3 months ago). I know it isn't the tret because tret on its own doesn't do that to me. I once tried Finacea gel on its own for a few months daily and it also left me with these shiny dry scar-ish patches that didn't go away the whole time I was using it (and I think it also chemically burnt my skin). My skin now is better but I still just can't get AzA to work.

So what gives? Does AzA just not work for some people? Should I just drop it? I was using it for the toning/hyperpigmentation help but I think it's making everything worse!

Skin type: sensitive, acne-prone, combo-oily af

Routine:

Morning: La Roche Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Face Wash, Vanicream Enhanced Moisturizer or CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Gel to damp skin, Banana Boat Kids SPF 50+ Lotion

Night: La Roche Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Face Wash (sometimes 2x, sometimes washcloth), dry off, Aquaphor to protect eyes/sides of nose/lips, Altreno tretinoin 0.05%, 5-10 minutes later Taro generic AzA gel

(AzA used to be in my morning routine before moisturizer, moved it to night a month ago because it was making most of my sunscreens/moisturizers pill)

Red bumps that flare on my fingers every month or so, what are they?

I get these red bumps that kinda itch/burn on the tops and sides of my fingers, they show up every month or so and sometimes appear on my big toe too. Opzelura has been the only thing that makes them go away, but dermatologists and doctors I've seen don't know what it is. What are these red bumps?

Looking for a hair stylist that is familiar with curly/textured/natural hair (but is not a curly hair specialist!)

I'm looking for a skilled hair stylist in Redmond or anywhere else on the Eastside, or even in Seattle who has experience cutting curly/textured/natural hair but is not a deva curl or what-have-you curl specialist. Basically someone who is well experienced cutting hair of different lengths/textures. Not a "curl specialist" because all they do is those round choppy curly cuts that cost $200+, I just want someone to evenly cut my hair while it's wet.

Thanks!

Finger bumps that have been flaring every 1-2 months the last 2 years, cleared up with Opzelura but what could be their root cause?

First set of pics from May 2024 (when they started), then Dec 2025, then Jan 2026, then March 2026 (covered in Tacrolimus), and today (after a few weeks of Opzelura 1x daily).

25F, non-smoker, non-drinker, seem healthy enough. Had lots of bloodwork done in October 2025, everything seemed okay and normal, besides cholesterol and deficient Vit D and B12 (which I have since remedied). Can screenshot and share if needed.

Been getting those bumps only on my right dominant hand fingers since May 2024, they appeared overnight out of nowhere, and they've been flaring on and off since. Haven't noticed a pattern with my period or anything I eat. Just had a patch test done, allergic reaction to textile dye mix and irritant reactions to sodium metabisulfite and fragrance mix I. Been switching my products to fragrance free. Primarily wear natural materials anyways but eliminating all synthetic materials. Suspicious of some nylon bags I used to use all the time (bought in April 2024) but have gotten rid of them since.

I'm so confused about the bumps and why they keep happening and what the reason could be. The doctors and derms I've seen are confused too, but don't seem interested in finding out why they're happening, only in treating it. I've been prescribed clobestol, tacrolimus ointment, and Opzelura, only the latter has helped, but still don't know the root cause. Worried it may be indicating something systemic or worse, but how do I find out if the doctors I see are also puzzled? I'd really appreciate any help, I'm so lost about this.

additional info:

- Opzelura has been the only thing that's cleared it, but stopping use because I'm scared of a rebound effect (and the root cause of my bumps is still unknown)

- taking oral antihistamines like Allegra, Claritin kinda helps

- developed pollen allergies in my late teens/early 20s, one type of mold, Red Alder, and sweet vernal grass

- family history of eczema, allergies and asthma (mom has eczema, sister has asthma, both have allergies)

- vaccinated, but got infected with COVID 2x. funnily enough the bumps showed up for the first time a few days or so before I came down with covid a second time (did it fuck up my hand?)

- been staying on top of moisturizing, using Opzelura nightly, handwashing with fragrance-free hand soap or dove bar

- if relevant, both sides of family have a history of diabetes (type 1 and 2), heart disease (father), hypertension, high blood pressure, stroke (father's sister)

- I seem to have very sensitive skin, more than most people I know

- bumps once happened on ring and pinky fingers too, but these days they always flare on my pointer and middle fingers. have never flared on my thumb. right hand only, never elsewhere

- I struggle with fatigue that comes and goes through the day these days, I sleep a lot if I'm able to (10-11 hours), but maybe that's because of inconsistent sleep and being too stressed to sleep sometimes.

- think the most recent flare was triggered by a bad case of short stress (like, an hour at most) but I'm not sure + stress isn't a pattern, bumps will show up even when I'm feeling generally ok day to day

Is there any lab work I should do? Should I get checked for autoimmune diseases? Should I insist on a biopsy the next time the bumps show up?

Thank you
