I’m looking for a partner/co-host/co-creator for a recovery podcast I’m putting together.

I came into the rooms of AA around eight years ago. I don’t have eight years sober, unfortunately. I’m a slow learner and needed to conduct more experiments before I became convinced that I was truly powerless over alcohol.

I love AA. The people in the rooms saved my life and introduced me to my higher power who I now rely on to guide my life. I’m looking for someone who understands and loves AA like I do to create recovery content with.

Of course it won’t be affiliated with AA as a group and we can talk about other recovery programs as well but I’m a 12 stepper and a lot of the content will be focused on that because it works.

I really believe the right person or maybe a couple different people will find this post and reach out. I have some exciting ideas to share with you. DM me or preferably email me swishermedia@gmail.com.

I’m looking for a partner/co-host to do a recovery themed podcast with me.

I have a bunch of ideas and I’ve done a lot of work already but I really want a partner that believes in the project. I want someone to brainstorm with about content. I don’t want to do it alone.
There’s a lot more to say but I’d rather just do that with the right person if they see this post.

Anyone here in AA? DM me on here or email swishermedia@gmail.com if you want to hear more about it.

Best all around shotgun mic for 2026?

I’ve been saving up and am about ready to invest in a good shotgun mic. I want one that is excellent for recording environments but also great for voice. I’ve had my eye on the MKH 416 P48 and that’s what I’m budgeting for. Is there something better I should keep saving a little longer for? Let’s say under $1,500 to keep it reasonable. Also sometimes the 416 uses the P48, P48U3 or nothing after 416. Is there a difference?

Update:
I should have added more info so everyone could get an idea what I’m looking for. I currently use a set of Roland binaural mics for my field recordings. I was wanting a shotgun mic to pick up more specific things in the environment if I hear something I want to isolate more. I think it would pair well with the binaural mics I’m using that capture everything around me. I threw the idea of recording voice in there because that would be useful as well sometimes. I have plenty of other mics that are great for spoken voice in indoor/controlled environments. I will be getting the whole shock mount, blimp, dead cat, boom pole setup as well.

There’s been several instances where I was monitoring my binaural setup and heard something interesting farther away and would like to be able to point a good shotgun that direction and capture it better.

Does anyone have a voucher they’re not going to use?

I was wanting to get something off their store and figured I’d ask if anyone has a voucher they’re not going to use before it expires. Thanks.

Should I put out a much longer episode than my normal or split it into two parts? I need advice.

My typical podcast length is 40-60 minutes. I did an interview that ended up being two hours because it was really good conversation. I’ve cut a lot of fluff and tightened everything but I’m still going to hit about 1.5 hours after the edit is done.

Do I go ahead and put out an episode that’s twice as long as my average or split into two parts? How do I handle it if I split? Release both parts at the same time? I’ve never had this happen before. There’s a lot of good stuff in part two so I would hate for people to miss out on some of that but I don’t know if people will really click on it to hear another 45 minutes of the same guy. I need advice. Thanks ahead of time. I’ll update with my decision after I read what you guys have to say.

UPDATE:
I really appreciate all the thoughts everyone shared on my issue. After reading through what you all had to say I agree that it’s better off for my show to just have the occasional longer episode. Having a part two wouldn’t make much sense in the context of my show. I’m going to let some friends listen to it ahead of time and see if there’s some less-interesting parts I could trim down some more to get closer to the one hour mark instead of 90 minutes. Thank you all again. This community has been great for me getting started to quickly get answers to some of the problems I’m having as they arise.

Switching my podcast from weekly to bi-weekly. Should I let listeners know? How should I do that?

Basically what the title says. I’ve been releasing a 40-60 minute episode every week. It’s a heavy workload for one person. To prevent burnout I’m switching to a bi-weekly (I know this term is ambiguous) release schedule.

Should I just do it and not say anything about it?
Is it something I should tell listeners? Should I just tag it on the beginning or end of the next episode that after this one I’m making the change?
Should I put out a separate quick update episode to make people aware? There’s probably a couple other things I could add if I did a separate thing.
What are your thoughts?

Update:
I appreciate the advice offered here. I decided to let them know by adding a quick piece mentioning the release schedule change at the beginning of the next episode. Making that change will relieve a lot of the pressure I was feeling. I’m sure you all understand how time consuming this gets. I really do enjoy it and want to keep doing it. I just have to slow down a bit or I’ll burn out. Thanks again.

Still looking for guests for home-production podcast.

The mods here gave me permission a few weeks ago to post that I was looking for producers to be guests on my home-recording podcast. I got a lot of emails asking about it but then people never got back with me to actually do it. I got a few that followed through and I’m happy to say the podcast is out on all major streaming platforms and slowly growing in listeners.

To keep the podcast going it requires a steady stream of people willing to come on the show and talk about their music, creative journey, tools/gear, software and whatever else about their production process. It’s a lot of fun and I’ve been having great conversations with other people passionate about making music like I am.

This is a great sub with a lot of talented people. I’d love to talk with more of you and keep making episodes. If you’re interested please email swishermedia@gmail.com and I’ll give you all the details.

I’m not here for self promotion. Just trying to keep the podcast going. Episode 4 will be out this Wednesday and I’ll be switching to a bi-weekly schedule after that. Look up Producers Chair wherever you listen to podcasts and you can get a feel for what I’m making. The basic outline is:

Silly intro segment that’s slightly different every week.
Listen to one song by guest
Talk about the song and ask questions
Listen to one more song by guest
Keep talking about production process
Wrap up

The interviews have been around an hour by phone, discord or whatever you prefer. I edit that down to make it a tight, fast moving show. I provide all the links to music and socials of the guest so listeners will see those when they hear the podcast.

If you’re passionate about creating music or sound design I’d love to hear from you. You’d be helping me keep the podcast alive and hopefully get some new people to discover your art. All genres and styles are welcome. I hope to hear from some of you soon.

Can Macbook Neo handle editing a podcast?

I know the Neo would struggle with any heavy multitrack sessions with software instruments and such. I need a mobile computer for editing a podcast. I’m not recording the podcast. Just opening a 24/48 template and dragging files in to edit.

Two mono voice tracks imported as WAV files. Usually 1-2 hours long. Hundreds of edits with region fades. Plugins can include EQ, noise gate, leveler and compressor on each track. Editing these is the must-have.

Optional
One stereo track for imported wav files of background music. Possible plugins: EQ, compressor.
One stereo track for imported intro/outro pieces.

Project is typically 40-60 minutes after tight editing.
Some volume automation on background music track.
Master out usually has compressor, EQ, multipressor, adaptive limiter.

Does anyone have the Neo running Logic? Any thoughts on how it would hold up for my specific use case? What would cause the most issues? My main rig handles all this with ease so the most important thing is being mobile for editing the two imported voice tracks. I’ll also be responding to emails and small things like that while the session is open. I know memory capped at 16 GB is the biggest issue. Trying not to overspend buying anything that has a lot more power than I will need. The Neo looks great for battery life, portability and budget. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

What can I add to make my interview podcast more interesting?

I’m basically asking the guests the same questions. The answers are different to an extent but I’m not convinced this format will continue to work. Eventually a lot of the answers start to sound very similar. Kind of like listening to a bands third album within three years. If they don’t take time away to grow, mature musically and come back with something fresh the music sounds like a continuation of the last stuff they put out.

I try to shake things up with anecdotes and curveballs but I’m not sure that will be enough unless people are listening for my personality rather than their interest in the guest. What else could/should I try to make it feel different. I need some ideas for adding variation I guess. Thanks for reading and hopefully a few can give suggestions.

How to get the highest quality audio for remote interviews?

I just launched a podcast where I interview people around the world. I’m using phone or zoom right now and recording that into my mixer.

Today I had a guy record himself through a mic/interface that he had and send me the audio so I could swap it out for the phone audio. It sounds soooo much better. It sounds professional. Not everyone has a setup to do that though.

Is there another way to get really clean audio over the internet live that you guys are using? Having them record their part separately and then combining is perfect when they’re able to do that but I’d like a better way than what I’m doing when that’s not an option. Thanks!

Looking for guests for my home producer podcast

Hey guys! I love seeing all the posts of people setups on here. I’m starting a podcast to bring attention to all the bedroom producers who work their craft will little recognition. We’ll talk hardware, software, inspiration, process and everything else that goes in to making your music. If you’re ok with it we’ll play a song or two you’ve done and talk about what you used to make it.
I’ve put in a lot of work getting everything set up. I have a YouTube, Facebook, instagram to push the episodes once they’re done.
I made a trailer and it’s live on Apple, Spotify and most other podcast platforms. Just look up Producer’s Chair.
I don’t have time to read reddit DMs so email swishermedia@gmail.com if you’re interested and put “Producer’s Chair” in the subject line and I’ll send you details.
