Got diagnosed with SSHL a week or so ago, did the prednisone, and have done 2 ear shots so far,(got 4 more to go) So far no change. I wish it was just lesser volume but it’s straight up weirdness. Voices sound like they’ve got a pitch shifter on them tuned a 5th below. Quite demonic, and while I have a great loss in low frequency response, there’s a constant 110hz tone/pressure in my right ear.

So I start hyperbaric oxygen therapy tomorrow. It’s one of those acrylic tubes they slide you in and while at least it is at the hospital, I am absolutely dreading this. I don’t even think it will help and I’ve have done the treatments for nothing. Fuck.

I wish this never happened.

I woke up one day with extreme hearing loss in my right ear, serious distortion, and loss of low frequency response. I am a musician with perfect pitch, I played a show the other day and man, I struggled. I was wearing in ear monitors, one in my good ear, and an earplug in the other. Music is my life, and in my right ear is sounds like a cacophony, especially instruments like pianos or other that are harmonically rich.

This is by far, the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I have to wear an earplug in my right ear. If I whistle, I hear a harmonic overtone (lower undertone?)

Got in to see an ENT, and she put me on prednisone, heavy taper dose, and day 4, no result. In fact it's almost worse. I had no other symptoms but now I seem to have caught a sort of cold / cough, so maybe it is viral? I really don't know what to do.

I don't see how a hearing aid could possibly even address this.

The next steps are either steroid injections into my ear drum (I'm really not keen on perforating the ear drum) - or a hyperbaric chamber...

Has anyone seen any immediate relief with a hyperbaric chamber? Any thoughts on anti virals, or maybe even anti fungals (internal - anti fungal ear drops did nothing for me). Thanks..........

I started Pristiq just as Covid pandemic really kicked off and I was struggling with anxiety and some depression. I think I got that licked after 6 years and have started the process of coming off. Was on 50mg and dr has suggested going one day on one day off.

Did one day off, I could feel it a bit by end of day, next day took my dose, then next day was off. Today I’m supposed to take it but man, I don’t want to extend this and kinda just get it over with….this is rough! Had a rough night (wild dreams). I’m a little agitated today but the “zaps” have subsided somewhat…but are there…

Gonna try just kicking this cold turkey….

Argh. I hate this screen. I often will tap just before I hit the delay so as it’s as up to date in tempo, but I can’t access stomps while this screen is up. I have to tap the tempo, then press UP button to close this window. I really wish I could just tap tempo and not have this screen. That, or the timeout on it be a -lot- shorter. Frustrating!

Removed my resonator about a year ago and….. it doesn’t really impress me. It’s a -little- louder. Cold start is fairly rowdy but that’s it.

Any recommendations for some more deeper mufflers? Something not toooo drone-y but at the same time not as quiet as the factories. I kept the resonator in case I need to put it back on. Thanks!

Been using a Helix LT for many years... gigged it hard, and it held up ok, but the preset knob is buggered, the volume knob is broken, and it was... tired. I seriously considered the new Stadium, but I've been using Neural's plugins for a while and was impressed so I pulled the trigger on the QC today and... wow. Just dialling in some fairly complex 3 input (Guit/Mando/Harmonica) for a zep thing I've got coming up, and it just eats it up. I will mostly use it for bass though, been a bit of a learning curve but it's really straightforward and has some decent advanced features. Looking forward to festival season with this!

Been in 50mg Pristiq since 2020. Managed my anxiety very well. Depression? Eh. Gained a shitload of weight over Covid as well so I imagine that’s not helping. But the sexual dysfunction. It takes an almost Herculean effort to climax. I don’t dig this. Will adding Wellbutrin help this? I’m due for a checkup soon and will talk to my doc about this but wanted to see what any other men thought.

My Helix LT got banged around just now, and when I powered it up, I got :-7 on the top of the screen and it was reporting "Updating UI MCU Firmware, please wait. Do not power off the unit!"

I opened it up (if you choose to do so, do so at your own risk and unplug first! There is live AC mains in there!) after unplugging, and noticed that the display controller is connected to the main controller as a daughter card sandwiched with a header connector (no cable) - this board had become dislodged and was not fully connected. Pushed it back onto the main board, reassembled and it is working fine.

Just wanted to post this for future reference for those who may see this issue.
