Would you join an app where you get paid for hanging out?

Would you be comfortable with an app like this?

I’m building an app in India that connects people who want company for specific activities with people who are willing to spend time with them and get paid for their time.

For example, you could get paid to accompany someone for a movie, shopping, coffee, dinner, an event, exploring the city, playing a sport, or simply hanging out and talking.

It would be strictly non sexual. Both people would be 18+ and identity verified.

This would not be a random booking system. The person requesting company would have to clearly specify the activity, location, date and duration beforehand. During the meetup, live location tracking would be available for safety, along with reporting and emergency assistance.

I want to specifically hear from you guys:

Would you personally be willing to join something like this and get paid to spend time with someone you don't know?

What would make you feel safe enough to try it, and what would make you completely uncomfortable with the idea?

I’m looking for honest opinions, including criticism, before taking the idea further.

If your ninja there is no point in waiting for joining letter

I believe there’s no point in waiting for a joining letter for months if you’ve already been selected through the Ninja profile. You’d be better off actively looking for opportunities at startups or other organizations and joining somewhere sooner.

First of all, there are many companies offering packages in the range of 3.5–5 LPA, and they’re relatively easier to crack compared to some of the larger companies/package.

On top of that, you’re losing valuable time and experience. By waiting, you could have already gained around 9 months of work experience by now.

Also, keep in mind that the initial two months at TCS will most likely be training, and after that, you may not know which project you’ll be assigned to. There’s also a possibility of being on the bench, so the amount of practical learning and experience you get isn’t guaranteed.

I personally believe that early in your career, you should focus on learning and gaining as much practical experience as possible. That’s something you can actively work toward by joining an organization where you have a clearer opportunity to contribute and learn, rather than waiting indefinitely for TCS.

[JOB SEEKING] Deployed 4 Apps worth 1.5 lakhs each , But struggling to Get job Interviews - Please help

Enhanced with AI

I recently moved from Indore to Bangalore to look for a software developer role, but getting interview calls has been much harder than I expected.

I'm a Full Stack Developer (MERN + Next.js) with production experience. I've built and deployed 4 apps on the Play Store with 500+ users, each project was worth 1.5 lakhs also I'm confident in my skills I can crack interviews if I get the chance.

I also came here with a lot of hope. My parents have put a lot of faith in me and believe moving to Bangalore will help me build a good career. I don't want to let them down, so I'm trying everything I can.

I'm looking to join a fast-paced startup as a Full Stack, React, Next.js, or Node.js developer.

If anyone knows of any openings or can offer a referral, I'd be truly grateful. Thank you!

People Who Moved from other Cities to Bangalore/Pune/Hyderabad: How Did You Land Your First Good Tech Job?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 passout currently working as a Full Stack Developer at a small startup in Indore. My tech stack is MERN + Next.js, and my current in-hand salary is ₹18,000/month.

My goal is to move to one of the major tech hubs (Bangalore, Pune, or Hyderabad) and land a role paying around ₹40k/month (₹5–6 LPA). However, I've been struggling to get interview calls.

So far, I've:

  • Applied to a large number of jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed
  • Tailored my resume for different roles
  • Built projects using MERN and Next.js
  • Gained some real-world startup experience

Despite this, I'm not seeing much traction in terms of interview opportunities.

I would really appreciate advice from people who have successfully made a similar jump:

  • Is ₹5–6 LPA realistic for someone with my profile?
  • Which job platforms are working best right now besides LinkedIn and Indeed?
  • Should I focus more on referrals, cold outreach, or improving my portfolio?
  • What skills are companies currently looking for in MERN/Next.js developers?
  • How would you approach a job search if you were in my position?

Any resume, portfolio, networking, or job-search tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance! 🙏
