Blower door test, and insulation

I did an insulation job on my 1973 home which showed at was at 9.8ACH after they sealed, put down insulation in my attic and a portion of my crawl space it went down to 7.2.

I will saw after this all happened I did replace my sliding glass door which was extremely leaky. It let snow in.

Anyways --

I was kind of expecting something better.

The other part of my basement is full size and there is no sealing or insulation at the the rim joist. Would that make a big difference?

My windows are also from the mid 90s but from what I can tell with my thermal camera they're fine.

I dunno I guess I'm a little annoyed.

I got this installed today, to drain my humidifier. It's not at an angle is that ok?

I'll be sticking a condensing pump down this pipe. Will gravity be able to work it's magic through that p trap?

I just found this crushed bug in my living room. Is this a winged subterranean termite?

Plywood under bay window looks wet

I was checking in the basement for moisture around the bay window area. It looks like in the past there was some water issues. So I went outside and looked under my bay window and I saw that there was plywood and sure enough it felt a little wet. I got my moisture meter and it read 9.6% which I think is within reason. We had some heavy downpour yesterday in the day before.

Is this something that I should be replacing with OSB board or something?

Is this black mold? Found behind door trim going down to basement.

https://imgur.com/a/BzGpbW5

This is a door jam/ stud. It's covered up by drywall and the drywall does not have mold on it.

There isn't any other mold in the basement. I looked underneath the staircase. No water stains. There's no water source either in the area.

When I open the door to the basement there is an earthy smell to it but I chalked it up to the carpet being from the 80s/early 90s and it gets humid down there.

The other studs on the door jam don't have mold.

Cleaning hardwood floors with satin finish. Bona natural w/ traffic hd.

Cleaning satin finished hardwood floors

Looking to clean my satin hardwood floors. They're new bona natural with traffic hd. I tried using bona cleaning and left a white residue. I have been using water but I want to leave a nice clean smell in the house.

Is there anything out there that I can use that won't make it shine too much, won't make me slip and kill myself and also I can use on tile (nice to have for tile)

Thanks!

Hvac company came in to do air balancing today and was here for like 5 min. I told them about the dead vent and they said they couldn't do anything about it because my insulation is covering my joist.

After they left in busted my thermal camera out and saw that they must connected one of my flex ducts to the wrong trunk and it's blowing air down the wall where old registers used to be.

I was told I'd get a call in the morning with a plan of action to get this fixed with the original installer. I'm really pissed because I was told to get everything balanced and fixed after my insulation job.

I was also told that air balancing is a long job and they just opened the dampers to max.

Hey new home owner here. My attic is 103 degrees today. It seems to only get hot when the sun hits it. My attic fan is going and it seems to not really cool it down but stop it from getting hot faster.

I'm assuming I have a ventilation issue.

I had insulation put in a week ago, my soffits cleaned out and baffles put in. Sealed the attic too. I tested for negative pressure for the attic fan and it read -4 on the mano meter. The attic fan before the sealing and insulation work was causing really bad negative pressure to the point it was blowing air down my boiler venting pipe(goes threw the chimney flue)

I have 2 gables but unsure if I have a ridge.

My roof (shingles only) was replaced like 4 years ago. Anyone deal with this before and who was trust worthy to look at it and give them guidance and next options. Not sure if this is something that is serious or what.

Pretty old to be doing this. Dentist just advised me if it's not bothering me not avoid it. Never told me it would be a problem when I was older with age and potential risks.

Anyways now I have a cavity on one, small, still don't bother me but I need recs for oral surgeon that's good and know how to circumvent the risks that come with operating on an older dude with pulling wisdom teeth in the area. I'm in the Smithtown area. Saw one guy and he seemed confident and it was a walk in the park. Not sure I trusted him. Treated the place like a factory.

I feel like my options are a futon or a very luxurious air mattress. This room is going to be the future of my child so I really don't want to put something that's relatively heavy like a latex bed or a foam bed in there right now and they're only visiting again for 3 weeks.

I also want to make my parents feel comfortable.

What can I get at a queen size to make them feel comfortable they're in their '60s and '70s so a Japanese futon won't work here. I need something relatively on the medium to taller side. They're in good shape though. But not getting off the floor good shape.

Which company out there that do this? Might need some pavers to be reset too.

Got this installed in November and finally getting to use it noticed there's morter and glue everywhere. Installer didn't clean up afterwards. Had them come back a few times and they keep doing small fixes instead of full fixes. So I'm cutting my losses and just gonna take care of this myself and get it cleaned.
