19 year old philosophy student returns with a nice little evening steak dinner and good conversation carry

A little more going on than my last post..

Got a Glock 40 gen 4 with Trijicon RMR and X300 turbo B. Running SLR mag extensions on the primary and backup mag, each holding 20 rounds of underwood 200gr XTP.

Still got the Microtech UTX-85 and Benchmade SOCP for the blades

Chapstick, cheap Walmart light, random notepad, and waterman fountain pen

And a leatherman from the 90s or so, I think, was my dad’s… snatched it and been using it ever since.

In my last post I got many comments about my rolex being fake so it’s staying at home. It was a gift so I cannot attest to the authenticity and as such did not address any comments, but I got enough comments to convince me it’s probably a fraud. I’ll be keeping it anyways since it was a gift from a family member, but I plan on going out soon and picking up a new watch that I can stand behind

Obviously foregoing the keys and wallet for this one,

HK VP9cc, carry it in a holster from Great Lakes Concealment with a Hellhound arms pillow. 10+1 on tap and a 12 rounder in the pocket. Gonna end up throwing a TLR-7hlx sub on it and I think it’ll be perfect.

Microtech UTX-85, carried for a couple years now, not sure I’ll ever have reason to replace it till it doesn’t go anymore.

Benchmade SOCP dagger… I know it’s not the best knife and there are other close defense daggers I’ve been looking into, but I took a SOCP training course that makes me a little more content with carrying it over something I’m unfamiliar with.

Rolex Submariner 126610LV

Carry the HK at 1 oclock, Benchmade at 11 IWB. Rolex on the wrist, Microtech left pocket with keys, wallet back left pocket, phone front right.

Wanting to add a light to the set up, any good pocket life recs?

Saw 2 G40s on this sub today.. you know I have to throw mine in the hat.

My plans are to swap the RMR out for an Acro, get her ported, maybe the SLR magwell… then some X300 mods like a gas pedal and carbon cover.

I absolutely love shooting this thing. One of my favorite guns right now.

Red dot and light revolver?

Every so often I see a nice wheel gun with a X300 and red dot mounted. I want one. Can’t figure out the best way to get my hands on one.
I’m thinking ideally .357, 6 or 7 shot, maybe 3 or 4 inch barrel.
But how do you get these to work with the lights and optics?
Looking for info and suggestions

Should I get a Bodyguard 2.0?

Pretty much, I have the opportunity to get a decent-good deal on a BG 2.0.. $300 out the door new

I have only ever carried big-ish guns. 4 inch PDP compact being the smallest. Also have carried a Shadow 2 compact, Glock 40, and Walther PDP pro sd full size.

I have a sig p238 I hate. It’s just too small, hard to draw and grip. Very smooth but just not functional for me.

Is the BG any bigger? I do want a smaller carry gun, but for me that might just be a 3.5 inch barrel compact 9mm. Just wondering how people that enjoy shooting big guns like the BG and if it is a reasonable option

Picked up a hellhound arms Apollo competition for my PDP Pro SD full size

Not much to be said here. Great gun, great holster. Would recommend both.

Hellhound Arms Apollo Competition: The CCW Maximalist’s dream. (Holster Review.)

This is a Hellhound Arms Apollo Competition, carrying my Walther PDP SD Pro Full size with a X300 and Holosun. It is the best holster I have ever touched. I am a big fan of carrying full sized and a bigger fan of holsters that make that convenient.

The hellhound grid system is so flexible that the mag carriers disappear. I only notice the firearm. The pillow makes the firearm extremely comfortable, and allows for carrying it at such a position on my body that would be uncomfortable without it due to jabbing.

The holster came very tight, to the point I could not get my gun in. The pillow was also very filled, large, and stiff. This is not a con to me. This shows that HellHound is giving the user the option to customize the product to what works best for them.

This product may not be the best as a first holster due to its orientation towards adjustability and modularity. I plan to EDC it for the foreseeable future, as well as shoot competitions with it. I will provide an update if there is any notable failure.

Anyone carry a big Glock? Show build and Discussion.

I recently got a Glock 40 and I’ve been playing around with EDCing it. Threw an X300 on it so I can use my T1C MSP. I haven’t had any major discomfort with it yet. Planning to get a SLR magwell and mag extension and ports eventually.
I’m making this post to see who else out there carries a big glock. 20, 24, 34, 35, 40, 41?
Show off your build, holster, and give any tips/advice.. or general thoughts on carrying a large Glock.

First Glock- where can I get a Wadian Wamjet for this thing? It’s just a little too easy to conceal and I need something to spend money on that isn’t ammo

In all seriousness— it really is my first Glock. I’ve shot a 48 and this. It was $820 all said and done, and I put about 100 rounds down range today. I don’t know that I’ll ever love Glock more than Walther for 9mm but this beast handles 10mm better than anything I’ve shot.

The all too forgotten child of the early striker fire era

My Steyr M9-A1 with a surefire x300, carry it appendix daily. Hard to beat 19 rounds on tap, fun sights, low recoil, and great reliability for a gun you can sometimes grab as low as 300 bucks

Best self defense hot 9mm?

Got a 5” 9mm all steel 1911, shoots like a dream with my regular ammo (147gr HSTs) and wondering about some +p or +p+ to try out in it and maybe carry. I’ve looked at Underwood’s 147gr +p or Speer gold dot +p. Any recommendations?
