What do you do when place isnt as clean as you’d hoped? [USA]

Ive had 7 years on air bnb my husband and i travel extensively for his work. We keep having issues with Georgia… its like this everywhere here. Just a different standard of clean I guess. Theres hair dirt bugs smashed on the walls and carpets. A dead roach a dead possible brown recluse just feeling creepy crawly for something that we paid premium price and are not feeling very premium..

Its from the two entryway doors. They are kind of rotted around the edges leaving gaps for critters to crawl in.. its right on a lake and going to be thunder-storming essentially the entire time we are going to be here leaving me nervous we are going to be a refuge spot for those looking for shelter.

I just dont know how to go about this with the host. If i just grin and bear it or if i talk to them about my concerns on the condition of the home- not trying to be nit picky but we just came from a gorgeous home in Alabama so i know its possible to offer a nice space in the south these homes just are not being maintained well :(

Things to do with small children in Montgomery?

Online makes it feel like we are in Compton or downtown Detroit… lol

We decided to tag along with my husband for work. Anything we should avoid in this area? A coworker said he witnessed a robbery already (gas station) and truthfully our hotel has had a few iffy folks

Where can I go with 3 littles that isnt going to attract any unnecessary attention? Im sure it has to be safe, families live here. I am just unfamiliar with the area.

We just came from huntsville where a shirtless man approached my husband outside of a pawnshop asking him if he could go in and try and sell his gold chain for him🙂😬 Alabama has been different lolol

We love being outside! Any fun attractions to explore? We love cafes and local spots. Kinda crunchy momma. Children are all toddler or baby aged- thanks in advance

Air bnb we stayed in for less than an hour had roaches falling out of the air vents

I have it on video so pictures were hard to shoot. We think the door was too drafty and let them in. Fully refunded by host but worst experience of my life.

Georgia 😭

Luxury hotels ?

We just stayed at the worst place ever in Tennessee. We need some where with comfy ass beds and some place that feels nice. Price isnt an issue we just want something that is actually good and not just expensive for expense sake. Looking in the providence or meridian area but open to anywhere if its actually worth it!

Two adults and 3 littles under the age of 4
(We are all well seasoned travelers but have never been to Alabama!)

Staying in air bnb and freaking out

In Appalachian mountains tons of no see ems outdoors so trying not to panic but this keeps happening at night. Its always exposed skin or my legs. Checked bed seems and nothing alarming other than the occasional black speck in bed but i have 3 toddlers. It’s affecting my sleep bc i know ill wake up with more but have no proof thats what’s actually happening. Tempted to sleep in the bed downstairs and see if we still get them. I did see a gnat sized winged bug flying around right before bed but this arm was under my pillow 🥲

Genuinely just curious. I am at the start of a pretty big cut after losing 10 lbs (yay)

very easy to stay in my calorie deficit most days but sometimes a girl just needs a maintenance day 😭😮‍💨 (breast feeding mom of 3 littles)

Fully looked at that homemade pumpkin chocolate chip muffin and said SCREW IT. (148 cals logged into my fitness) I didn’t go over but I am right at baseline. Its still early so I am thinking maybe a super high steps day will balance me out a bit (already had a great strength training session)

But I am curious what others do when they fumble their deficit for a day- whats the mindset of the subreddit 😆 how do you handle a day like today for yourself?

Why do people need to try and touch my baby? I am noticing this trend and its pissing me off. I ask before I pet someones dog but people feel entitled to just come over and touch my young infant? While i am baby wearing her. I don’t know how to say “don’t touch my child I don’t know where your crusty ass hands have been.” In a manner that’s socially acceptable. Either way its an awkward interaction but i don’t find it appropriate to just come over and physically be all up on my baby. Don’t touch her hands don’t lean in and smell her head. People suck. How do you handle this? Shes my 3rd and I am finding myself swallowing my voice at her and my expense when who tf cares if I make Karen feel awkward do not just feel entitled to come over and touch strangers babies.

A woman we barely know gave her a stomach virus about a month ago just not keeping her hands to herself. Why do we need to touch ? We ask permission before petting peoples dogs but just feel entitled to touch someones whole child. I hate it.
