how to transition into an original property?

hello fangan nation! i just had an epiphany.
i really love this fanproject i've been working on, but lately, i've realised something.

in my narrative, the characters themselves matter more than their ultimates. additionally, its themes and inspirations have grown beyond danganronpa and align more closely with the denpa genre. [i l
i also do not think it'd be financially feasible for me to do this large sprawling fanproject completely unpaid. so i want to transition my work into an original work, while still maintaining a consistency to it.

i am slightly worried, though. considering the backlash danganronpa-inspired games get for the "crime" of incorporating murder-mystery aspects to a death game, i really want to broaden my scope. any ideas/suggestions would be welcome.

Alternate Idea: Argument Arrangement

Heya! This is my pitch for an alternative to Argument Armament; the Argument Arrangement.

I like Armaments as they are... but I'd be lying if i said they were my favourite minigame. Don't get me wrong, I really like them, and they're the most unique final-showdown games by far, but I want to add to it.

What I propose is essentially a mashup of Armament and the MTB/PTA mechanics from THH/SDR2.
Argument Arrangement comes from a musical "arrangement".

You have the same structure as Armament of dismantling the opponent bit by bit. But instead of playing to the same theme, it could be an original composition [or remix] rhythm game segment. It could even be something like Friday Night Funkin where you use the arrow keys or something. This also makes constructing the final phrase ">!MEAT ON THE BONE!<" more connected to the fight.

It's not really a brand new idea as much as it an amalgamation of all prior minigames. It works the same way, except rhythm and consistency are more essential than ever.

What do you think of it?

Gonna have to switch colleges and join hostel because of external problems. Was I born to suffer?

So I’m transmasc but since I am very deep in the closet, I am attending an all girls college. This is something I am perfectly fine with. I love my major I love (some) of my professors, but most of all I love the friends I’ve made here. And two of my old friends are also studying here.

And all that is just going to get ripped away from me because god forbid I actually be at peace for once. My grandmother is doing mother-in-law bullshit to my mom. She was consistently complaining about “knee pain” when my dad (her son) was here. The evening he left her pain magically disappears, never to be mentioned again. Not to mention that she’s in her 70s and still insists on doing things like cooking and cleaning despite having arthritis and a bunch of other health problems. AND she’s taking offense to us hiring a cook!!

Additionally, my parents feel like they’ve been shortsighted with my college choice and want to switch me to a better one. I really don’t want to because it’s 10 hours away from the old one, which makes interacting with friends from there IMPOSSIBLE. Plus I’m an amateur voice actor and staying in a dual-sharing dorm will totally ruin any shot I have to record anything.

But the option they have is the best in the state. And co-ed.

I’m totally lost and I have no idea what to do. I can’t help but feel distraught that all this seems to be happening only AFTER I actually feel comfortable and happy. I can’t help but feel like I wasn’t born to be happy in any way. It’s just not fair at all.

how do i [18] tell people i don't wanna hang out without outing myself??

for context, i've got moderate autism and pretty high ADHD. besides this, i have pretty extreme mood swings. some days i just wanna get out of the house and explore and hangout out with my friends! but on others, i feel very low and just don't wanna. i figure my social battery[?] isn't too high.

like yesterday i hung out with my friend and it was great! but today i didn't wanna, so i called her to say i wouldn't come because i wasn't feeling too well. she kindly offered to simply hang out at my house, but i said i'd prefer not to since i'm in the mood. i did assert that we could meet tomorrow. she responded with a flat "oh" and i reassured her we'd meet tomorrow, before cutting the call. i felt so shitty afterwards. i just don't wanna hang out today, not forever!

as for why i can't tell people about my AuDHD, it's because i've moved back to my home country for education. here, i can't tell anyone about my diagnosis. everyone in the country is VERY ableist, as is the government.
so i'll have to be creative about things, i guess.

any advice??

what grinds your gears in a trial?

hello all! i am brainstorming for a fangan of mine and wondered to myself; what would annoy me if i saw it in trials? i have my own personal preferences, but since i plan to (eventually) release this to the public, i figured i'd need your opinion on it!

i'm talking last-minute ass-pulls, unnecessarily long arguments, ridiculous and downright impossible murder plans, the whole lot. give me your worst!

PLAY/WATCH REWRITTEN PLEASE PLEASE

Rewritten Act2 came out recently and it is great. Lots of characters get development and you get to see ur faves at least thrice before the Big Bad.

This fan is very interesting to me because it follows a wolf game system. There are 12 lambs (innocents) wolves (must kill in 72 hours or they’re dead), assassins (must kill someone and make crowd vote their kill) and joker (must get majority vote)

Lambs who kill become wolves.

While the goal of the game is to get rid of all the wolves in the student body, you don’t actually have to vote the blackened of the case when someone is killed. This poses a very interesting question about whether you could sway the votes to just kill whoever you don’t like.

I really love the cast because they are dysfunctional as all hell and it never fails to make me laugh. the trial was very well constructed.

Additionally, it seems the minigames are quite fair (cough cough hangman’s gambit) and the gameplay —especially in trials— is smooth as fuck.

If I had to give any negatives/things to look out for….

It feels like characters trauma dump too easily? Idk if that makes sense but yeah that happens

There’s also a lot of ship bait (the zesty kind) which I really don’t mind but I know some people do

Sometimes the characters make quirk chungus dialogues and you just gotta accept that.

But yeah, I had tons of fun with Rewritten and I’d definitely check it out if you want a unique fangan!!
