As the title says: (Canada) Do I go and get a third dentists opinion and change dental offices again?

Two completely different dentists knowingly and purposely were/are too eager to want to pull out very back molars, they are strongly convinced they are wisdom teeth (I had them taken out years ago by another dentist where I'm originally from in the country). Unfortunately I don't have the x-rays.

I hope this makes some kind of sense because both of the

Could someone kindly please explain to me why some dentists are so strongly convinced about some teeth looking like wisdom teeth when they clearly are not.

Before anyone asks. Yes both dentists looked at the most update x-rays. But still feel extremely uncomfortable about how both dentists were staring at the x-rays (on decent sized screens, could see everything), looked at my teeth, was convinced very back molars "had to be wisdom teeth and have to come out."

The first dentist refused to listen and kept trying to convince me "No no, those are wisdom teeth, not regular teeth. They need to come out." Staring right at the x-ray blown up on the huge screen, they barely looked at my teeth as it is.

The second dentist at another dental office at first wasn't hearing me but towards the end they finally did. They said how I (snuggle) was right they are not wisdom teeth, they are your back molars. How your back molars are shaped they look like wisdom teeth and got mistaken as them. The whole time they were looking at x-rays and even the scan (for night guards, etc). The dentist went on to explain about why we had wisdom teeth and why we don't need them.

Both of the places I have left thinking "What the heck is going on?! They both automatically jumped to conclusions." Reason why I'm saying this is because I've had dentists in the past before the recent two. In the past with other dentists they have always been thorough in not mistaking other teeth for wisdom teeth, also asking questions while working with the patients, and clear communication so everyone understand what is going on.

If you got this far. Thank you taking the time to read this post, it's much appreciated.

Genuinely concerned. Shit hit the fan. Confronted neighbours who were and are being reckless yet again.

Helps to read the entire post to get the full picture. I feel horrible and could have handled things differently. This happened early in the morning 2:30-3:00am (Saturday, June 27th). This was and is a build up from over time. Had to confront next door neighbour and their friends, which they then denied everything. They were on the roof yet again smoking and whatnot. If any of them took one wrong step, it's a drop down of being seriously injured or worse. They could even go through the roof walking to and from the area they were going to because of how unstable it is. The way how the building is, it's oddly shaped (it's old and has a weird layout) some of the apartment balconies sit right on top of the businesses roofs.

In the moment when watching all of this was happening. I didn't want to startle them by catching them off guard, causing them to fall and injure themselves. I did wait until they safely got back into their place before confronting them. Could tell something was off because couldn't tell if the neighbours were/are sober, drunk and/or high on something. But their eyes looked glossy, sort of glazed over, and they seemed spaced out.

For anyone who says why did you confront them? Well because the building owners and property management company (who the building owners hired) refuses to do anything whatsoever, doesn't take anything seriously until it's too late, and the damage is already done. I even followed what the property management company said the last time when this happened and to call the police. This time I did call the police and they said talk your property management company. I told the police what the property management company said. The police said "Yeah property companies say this because they don't know what else to do." I did apologise to the police for wasting their time and they did seem to be understanding about all of it.

Every day I always wonder while opening the curtains, will this be the day I see and find someone passed out or worse. Also my mind did think maybe people being on the roof were casing out the place.

But what you do when the building owner and the property management company they hired doesn't do anything and continuously refuses to. They both are shifting blame and not taking responsibility. Also blaming all of us in the building because they don't care, they care only care when it comes to money. The whole building is always being reprimanded for one neighbour and their friends not following the very simple rules.

If you got this far. Thank you for reading the whole post, it's much appreciated.

Made a post last week about looking for a new dentist. I wanted to thank everyone for the helpful, kind, and thoughtful suggestions. Found one which fit everything I was and am looking for.

Edit: I understand the weather isn't ideal today, so maybe this is why some not so polite people in the comments are being crabby(?). Also I can't believe not only do I have to say this but have to explain. Everyone has different standards in what they are looking for. My standards are going to be different than what another persons is. Not to mention a lot of us carry around a pocket computer which we can look things up on.

Made a post last week about looking for a new dentist in Esquimalt or in downtown Victoria. (Deleted it since then) But I wanted to thank everyone for the helpful, kind, and thoughtful suggestions. Found a dental office which fit everything I was and am looking for.

I won't say which dental office but it's somewhere in the downtown Victoria area.

I have zero family and friends I can put down as an emergency contact. I'm completely alone and there is no one else.

Edit: Unfortunately and sadly the comments being made when I first posted this post were not at all helpful. So I left the emergency contact part blank. But when they do ask I'll than give an explanation which I feel comfortable with giving as to why.

Hypothetically speaking: If I did know someone or anyone, they would be over 3,500KM-4,500KM away or more.

I was filling out forms, had to stop and think for a moment "I have zero family or friends who I can trust to put down as an emergency contact. I am completely alone and don't know anyone else. What do I put?"

What do I do?

I think I've been severely depressed all my life

I think I've been severely depressed all my life a long with anxiety and panic attacks. I'm trying to come out of it, but it's a constant battle everyday. I've tried talking to councellors and therapists before but hasn't worked out. Also financially speaking can't afford it anymore, even when I thought I could it was a struggle scrapping together what I could to able to afford it.

Looking for suggestions on dentists in Esquimalt and downtown Victoria who are accepting new patients with severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks.

Edit: Added more. I'll take a moment to look through them all but keep the suggestions coming, the more the better. Also it will help others too.

The post is broken up into paragraphs. Not sure if this will make sense. It's just swimming around in my head. I should add.

Unfortunately, I don't have a car (have to walk or take the bus) and financially speaking I have no benefits of any kind. I checked and do not qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan. I have to pay for everything out of pocket. I'm sure I can't be the only one who feels this way but gets tiring having to repeat yourself about not having benefits every time when asked.

I don't have a fear of the dentist or even anything associated with it (but after this most recent appointment I probably do now). I did apologise and still feel embarrassed from randomly breaking down and crying in front of them because I felt (still do) disappointed in myself and about not taking better care of myself (it's a constant struggle everyday). In the most recent appointment there was a lot going on and what didn't help was not being heard. There was no consistent answers to the questions from them and the answers were all over the place, starting from the most extreme option first to the less extreme, and a lot of assumptions were being made as well. What I have noticed over the years but didn't think much of it until now is they are the type of dentist who breezes in and out, and also has other dentists who will fill in for them when they are busy or are away.

Preferably a dentist and staff who are genuinely and consistently calm, patient, kind, and understanding. But also a dentist and staff who is consistent when taking the time to explain when a patient does ask questions to help themselves better understand what is going on. Also taking a moment for themselves are looking at the most up to date information, x-rays, talking to the patients like a person so nothing is missed, not rushing through and jumping to conclusions.

It's been almost one week since switching and have no complaints.

It's almost been a week since switching over. The only regret I have is not doing this sooner. Can already notice the difference.

Had the hardest time trying to port out from Koodo (aka Telus/Koodo/Public Mobile) Loyalty department was clearly not happy about another person leaving.

I hope this post makes sense. (Broke it up into paragraphs so it's not a wall of text)

My anxiety was and still is through the roof, even with just thinking about what had happened on the phone call with Koodo. It was probably a 5-10 minute phone call but felt like an hour had gone by.

Before anything I want to say feels like a huge weight has been lifted with Fizz (so far) because only switched today. The Fizz representative on the chat was very helpful, patient, and understanding. Feels like a human was talking to another human, which is good. Even the chatbot was more human compared to what I had to deal with on the phone call with Koodo.

I was dreading having to make the call today with Koodo. Reason being had to get the port protection lifted to be able to transfer to Fizz. My decision to leave has been a long time coming because the prices keep going up. For reference was with Koodo since 2016 (10 years but never planned on staying this long, it sort of just happened because you know how life is sometimes. Time can fly by in a blink of an eye) and up until this very day today.

From the start to end of the call Koodo's loyalty department representative was far from positive and I could barely hear anything. They let out a big sigh so I could hear as if I'm the one being difficult. I did listen to the offers they mentioned, I knew none of them came close to what Fizz has. Tried to answer the questions they were asking, was met with major push back. They didn't want to hear anything unless it was what they wanted. I don't use these words lightly, not only was the representative twisting my words around. They were also trying to gaslight, manipulate, and guilt trip me into staying (which didn't work). They kept being pushy about why I was leaving and talking as if I pulled everything out of thin air.

They said "I've been in this industry for 20 years. How you do know the carrier your going to won't just rise the prices" and they said "The plans are affordable. When I heard them say "it's affordable", this is when I knew I was done and just wanted to leave. I said "The plans may be affordable to you, Telus, Koodo, and Public Mobile. The plans are not affordable to me and the rest of us in the country." After I said this they backed down because they knew what I said had truth to it.

Then they finally said "Okay let me make a call to the other department to get your port protection lifted so you can leave." They put me on hold and purposely took their time doing it though. They were still pretty aggressive at the end of the phone call, especially when I said no thank you to them when asking if there was anything else they can do.

I will say this. No one should ever have to pick between buying groceries and an outrageous unaffordable phone bill.

If you got this far, thank you for reading the whole post it's much appreciated.
