I finally decided to bite the bullet on 8x32 or 8x64 for a TR Pro build

But you cant really get that at the local Microcenter, and eBay server pulls are scary at that price (for transaction itself, warranty, etc). Vcolor is pricey.

How do you guys do it? Where do you get your DDR5 ECC?

I'm debating between a slightly slower 6400 1.1V kit and a faster 6400 1.4V kit on WRX90.

One is the safer bet, and the other.... well I'm not sure just how risky it is?

How challenging are (for instance Vcolor's) 6400 1.4V kits?

I'm currently registered under Lite / non-Pro, and I get the cheap data (couple dollars a month, waived if I generated enough transactions).

It would be ok but I'd like to toy with some API features.

If I switch to Pro, what does the Level 1 cost become? If I remember correctly from my Bloomberg account it's around $100/month. Does that get waived/lowered if I generated transactions costs? It seems I can't check that without switching to Pro, which I don't really want to do at this stage (reverting takes time and would interrupt my current data feed)

With outdoor temps reaching 105F/40C, what are your tips? Idea is to not make it even more difficult for our A/Cs, and has the nice corollary of being easy on the power grid at a time of stress.

I personally turned off the Threadripper machines entirely, put the AM5 CPU in low power mode, and set some zpools offline and had the spinners idle.

I had it happen a month or two ago, and again today.

Symptom is my fans go to 100% even though CPU and GPU temps are mild (say machine at idle).

I have to do ipmitool mc reset cold and things come back to normal after a couple minutes when the BMC has restarted. My understanding is it could be due to a sensor not being captured by the BMC anymore, triggering a panic 100%.

Anybody encountered similar issues? How did you solve it?
