Delonghi Dedica Rancilio Steam Wand Mod

Hi everyone, I just completed the steam wand upgrade using the Rancilio Silvia V1/V2 Steam Wand. When screwing the nozzle tip onto the wand, there's this rubber O-ring squeezing out, which I can't squeeze inside. I've checked the product image and guides on YouTube and don't see the same. Is this supposed to happen?
