Anyone prefer milk thistle on an empty stomach?

I used to take milk thistle on an empty stomach and I have noticeable improvements in sustainable energy through the day. I recently read that milk thistle is better absorbed with a fatty meal but taking it after a meal but I started noticing the effects haven't felt as sharp and it made me wonder if anyone here prefers to take milk thistle on an empty stomach vs with food?

I haven't done my lab work to compare so I truly am just going by how I feel right now and wanted to see if it worked better for anyone taking with a meal as opposed to on an empty stomach.

Thanks for your help!

The most cost effective Folinic Acid?

Folinic Acid is what I take. I don't know why this took me forever to find out.

I primarily take Source Natural's pills, but I recently came across iHerb's folinic acid liquid drops for around $12 for 750 servings (660mcg per drop) and that is so much cheaper than Seeking Health and Source Naturals too. Them being drops also would absorb more effectively too.

For those of you who rely on folinic acid I figured I'd share because it's a huge cost savings.

Hope this helps someone!

Microbiome shift after oral health shift?

I recently got a water flosser due to sensitive gums in harder to reach spots and found out that after my gums started getting stronger and healthier overall, I had much better oral health overall and gut health. I was already flossing, brushing and tongue scraping before but water flossing really made a big differences. I no longer bleed when using it and my mouth is much fresher for quite a long time.

My gut health is much better now and it made me wonder, have any of you found a huge improvement in gut health following improvements in oral health?

What lesser known supplement had the most profound effects and what did it do?

Out of all the supplements from Nootropics Depot, is there one that genuinely surprised you with how well it worked, but doesn't seem to get much attention? What does it do for you that makes it worth recommending so highly?

Glutamine was the solution to my distressed gut.

If you're the type of person that feels like your anxiety is radiating from your gut, or you feel like you have trouble digesting foods and feel sluggish after (and a various other host of gut symptoms) it's worth giving glutamine a shot. I know there's a lot of posts about it already, but sometimes you need to see things repeatedly before even taking a second to try it out.

I am the type of person that would feel a ton of inflammation that would be accompanied by the status of how my stomach was feeling that day. I started having more bad days than good days. But glutamine leveled it out and it's been so stable. I felt so much calmer each day I was taking it. It felt like some sort of liquid bandage of me and even makes me feel calm and at ease.

I noticed other benefits besides my gut and that was increased wound healing, improved skin and more. I felt like I was actually absorbing nutrients better rather than reacting to various foods. Over the years my list of foods I couldn't tolerate kept growing and it's reversing.

I'm able to also go properly and it looks completely normal.

I remember there was a particularly stressful period of my life that seemed to be the start of these issues.

I am aware that many people have different reactions so it won't work for all but if it does seem to work for you, it's worth it. It's also not expensive to try it out so that's a bonus. This has worked better than collagen for me as well.

The online protocol seems to be 5 grams in the morning, afternoon, and evening in water on an empty stomach.

If this has worked for you I'd love to hear about it!

Collagen is really working, would it be necessary taking glutamine too?

I've noticed that incorporating collagen daily (around 30 grams) has really helped my symptoms big time.

For those of who that it did work for, do you also take any glutamine as well? Was there any added benefit that you've noticed from it?

Please wash your re-usable water bottle with a scrub brush and soap every day! It may be harming your gut health.

This took way too long to catch on to, but if any of you use a re-usable water bottle daily, I implore you to wash your water bottle each night thoroughly.

I use hot water, dish soap, and a scrub brush. Rinse with cold water to get the suds out, and dry overnight. If you have any nooks and crannies, get in there, remove anything that can be removed.

Or however else you prefer to scrub and sanitize your bottle that works for you.

I used to simply rinse it out and not air dry it for a few days in a row. It's incredible how much bacteria and mold can grow in a dark damp environment.

If you have something you sip out of, get a straw brush and ensure that is cleaned too.

I noticed immediately what a big impact on my gut health it had when I was consistent!

It's even worse when you add things like electrolytes or anything other than simply water.

This is just a little reminder to be consistent for those who care about their gut health.

What are the differences between 99 Ranch and JustGo supermarkets?

With them being so close to each other, it made me wonder, what are the biggest differences between them? Does one contain something the other does not? Is one better for pricing and availability on certain items? I'd love to know from your experiences!

Thanks!

EDIT: Meant to say Jusgo, not JustGo.

Do you make your own electrolyte formula at home? It's so much cheaper.

I notice how popular electrolytes are, but do any of you make your own at home since the formula is effectively listed on the packet?

Simply looking at the nutritional value tells you the type of each mineral used along with the amount used per serving.

For example LMNT uses Potassium Chloride at 200mg, salt at 1000mg, and Magnesium Malate at 60mg, along with some caffeine.

You can buy each of these are powders and make your own and tweak it for your own needs. For instance, I need more potassium so I add a little more, reduce the salt, and up the magnesium and remove the caffeine since I already have enough earlier in the day.

If you already have another brand you like, look at their ingredients and get those powders.

I also had a bad experience with Amazon with powders so now I just use iHerb since their facilities are temp controlled as well.

Do any of you do something similar? I've saved so much and was curious about any of you do the same.

Looking for a Great Local Photo Print Lab

I’m a photographer looking to hang some of my work in a local business and am currently looking into printing options. Do you happen to know of any local print labs you’d recommend in Houston?

Are there any recent documents regarding the validity of the Phoenix Lights UAP?

Growing up I remember seeing the Phoenix Lights UAP on live TV. With all the recent files being released, or even with documentation from the last few years, is there anything in there regarding more information on that case? I'd love to learn more. I've seen the documentary online about it and interview with the governor at the time, Fife Symington III. But I wonder if there's even more information out there that you thought would shed more light on that.

I notice a sharp improvement in mental alertness and focus whenever I have beets and beet powder. But I don't know enough about which products are the best. From personal experience or your own, do you recommend a brand? I am a bit confused with so many options out there and which ones work and don't.

Thanks!

I've started to be more active but I noticed on leg days when I incorporated squats, my mental health was better and I am much sharper. So out of listening to my body, I am just doing body weight squats daily and it's changed my life around.

What's the mechanism there on why that would work? It's not the same with other exercises, it's just squats that seem to trigger the switch in my brain.

Is there a connection between leg muscles and brain growth? Or is it because the legs are a larger muscle group so there's more activation somewhere down the line?

I'd love to learn more.

With how readily Fish Oil often is susceptible to spoilage due to storage, processing etc, is there a possibility Cod Liver Oil would be less susceptible to rancidty due to the additional A and D within them? Or would they be identical in terms of potential issues?

Hello!

I have found incredible success including kefir into my diet and it's easier for me to buy it from the store.

However, when I switched to Chobani it didn't do much for me in comparison.

Is there a reason for that? I know Chobani has less strains than the Lifeway kefir does. However, is it the amount of bacteria or is the difference in strains?

Thank you for any leads in information!

I'm curious how many people can handle one vs the other. I know it's common for people not to be able to handle both, but is it common for some people to be able to handle methyfolate and not methylcobalamin?

Thanks for your help!
