Any need-to-know mountain/creek photography tips?

I'm heading up to Jersey Shore, PA (lol), and there's a photo comp where the winner wins a free vacation. I'm pretty good with photography (the pics above are just from my phone, not my actual camera) but have always neglected landscapes. Are there any need-to-know tips i should know? I'll include some pics of what the general area looks like, and i'm also going up w/ 2 adults and 2 children. There will also be a balcony with a firepit overlooking the creek.

$840 for a crew to come and splice a cut propane line?

Hey yall

I made a post earlier today in this sub when i cut my neighbors propane line. My day hasn't gotten much better, but the knowledge that everything's taken care of and nobody went boom lifts my spirits a good amount. Plus i'm going fishing tomorrow after using the mower and weedwacker that i had to replace 2 parts on today unexpectedly, so i have that to look forward to.

We were originally told that it would be $1500-2000 to fix the line. However, they came out and did it the same day for $840, which seemed to be a lot more reasonable until my dad told me that all they did was splice the wire, not move it, bury it, replace it, protect it, or even re-coat it. They were done within an hour.

For more info that may be needed, we called around 11:30 and they came around 4. My zip code is 19056 and i live in bucks county, PA
....Wtf? is that a fair price?

Cut my neighbors exposed propane line while cutting back a weed tree for my other neighbor. Apparently it's gonna cost $2000 to replace. I have $132 to my name, but i don't want my parents or my neighbors taking a financial burden for my fuck up.

I (16) got a call from my neighbors asking to take care of their lawn. It was overgrown, weedy, basically an illustrative example of murphy's law. When i got to their back i saw a weed tree probably about 12-15 feet tall and offered to cut it back for them as far as i could because it was growing through a fence.

They accepted and i got to work. i trimmed it back very far, then put my cutters in the opening beneath the fence (it had gaps that was part of its design, and the opening was probably 8 inches high by 16 ish inches wide), and tried to get a little bit more. When i did, i ended up cutting my other neighbor's propane line, which was hidden from virtually every angle right behind the weed. I took care of everything (made them aware, shut the valve, told my parents, etc). I also asked in the Propane sub for info, and i was given estimates anywhere from $150-$600 ish. Annoying, yes, but with a few odd jobs and time i could cover it.

However, when i came back home after doing the lawn, my mom told me that she was told it would cost $2000. She wasn't mad, and she said that as my parents her and my dad were responsible, but that honestly just makes me feel even worse about the situation. What should i do? I'm fully blanked and stuck, and know not enough about anything related to this to make decisions on it independently

How to get involved w/ local news as a high schooler?

(please remove if not allowed! tried searching to see if this was asked before but couldn't find anything)

I am a photographer entering my junior year of high school next month. I have shot close to 100 games between different sports and leagues, all without issue besides one high school; i was told (by a very nice man, if somehow you're reading this i'm not dissing you!) that to get sideline access, i needed to be with a local news station because of \[something insurance related\]. I understood and shot thru the chain link fence for the remainder of that school's games, but with the next season coming soon, i'd like to be on the sidelines and get the shots that i know i could.

However, i'm completely lost as to how to even begin. Does anyone have any advice? Anything is greatly appreciated!

How to target somewhat decent bass on a 6wt in a creek filled with dinks and panfish? (and what to throw for snakehead)

I fish the Neshaminy Creek in bucks county PA pretty often, and have a ton of fun catching dink smallies and panfish on a 0/1wt. However, i have been dying to try out my 6wt, but i have no clue how to do that without only catching panfish and >0.5pounders.

Any tips/advice on how to target specifically bigger bass that'll give me some fight on my 6wt?

also, if anyone has some ideas/advice on what to throw for snakehead please do let me know as well, it doesn't have to be a fly but it can be, i just know there's a good amount in there and they seem like a ton of fun to catch.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

How to stop myself from naturally hitting to the opposite field?

I was at a tryout yesterday and was making great contact. The machine was pretty fast and i've only hit off a machine once before that point, so i was pretty happy with myself only fouling off or rolling over on 2 or 3 balls with the rest being solid line drives to left/left center (I bat lefty).

However, during my second round, my would-be head coach got annoyed because i was hitting everything opposite. He tried 'fixing' my swing to make me hit up the middle, but all that did was make me roll over or pop up almost every pitch.

I'm not a hitter, or at least i've been a PO for the last 2 seasons and have gotten a combined 4 at bats. So maybe he was giving good advice, but i just had no clue what he was talking about. He mentioned something about angles being made and playing pool, but i dont see what that has to do with the sweet ass stingers i was hitting.

So.. any tips? anything and everything is greatly appreciated!

First film scans came out off; user error, bad storage, or scanner issue?

I recently picked up a Canoscan 9000f for $35, and figured i'd test the film scanning on it for the future. I have shot quite a lot of film, most of it last year for a school course (i'm too broke to consistently shoot it when i'm paying for it.)

These are some of the scans from a roll i shot around april of last year. They're acceptable, but definitely flawed. Is this me not knowing how to use the scanner correctly, me storing the film like a stunod, or a scanner issue?

If it's an issue with how i stored the film and the pictures are damaged, i won't lose sleep over it. Just figured i should know what to do for when i do shoot rolls of film i want digitized well

Games/things to do while cleaning to keep yourself in it?

This is like my 4th or 5th post i've made while in the process of deep cleaning my room. I'd like to thank everyone that's helped me so far, i still have a lot of work to do but i've come a long way with the advice ive been given.

One of my biggest issues is getting and staying motivated. It's especially hard for me to start; i'll get up and see so much i could do that i can't decide. I've never truly been able to just *START*, no matter how hard i force myself to

Are there any games, mental tricks, strategies, etc y'all do/could recommend? Any help is, as always, appreciated a ton!

Any bats similar to the Easton XL1 bbcor that aren't expensive?

I have been using my old easton XL1 bbcor for the past 3-4 years now. I love everything about it, but that thing's bound to break sooner than later.

I love everything about it, it has great pop, swings light as a feather, has a massive barrel, and is forgiving on
miss-hits. However, they're pretty hard to find online, and my parents said they want to buy me a new bat (i've gotten all my bats up to this point second-hand, completely optionally).

Are there any bats like this that yall can recommend? They don't have to be new or popular releases.

What to do when you have too many clothes but don't want to get rid of them?

I've made a few posts on here in the past asking for help on a messy room, which is something i've dealt with all my life. I've come to the realization that my issue is clothes.
I have a lot of clothes, too many. I already went through and donated everything that's too small or that i just don't wear, but that still leaves me with many more clothes than can fit in my dresser and closet.

I don't want to feel bottle necked by my clothes anymore; it leads to messes that lead to more messes until it's a gigantic, matted mess that leaves me completely overpowered when it comes time to clean or simply live.

What should i do? Any help is greatly appreciated!

How do i go about doodling on the body of my acoustic guitar?

TLDR: i wanna doodle on an acoustic guitar, how should i go about that without messing it up?

Recently, i came across a guitar at a flea market for $10. It's nothing good; an "Ashthorpe" that is from a cheapy beginners kit, but it plays good enough and has become my default guitar for when i'm out with friends and am too inebriated to trust myself with an expensive one.

however, I have another cheap acoustic that has the same color way, but i consider that thing to be my baby (it's also nothing good but it's my first acoustic) and refuse to modify it anymore after i cut a kenny rodgers vinyl into a pick guard.

I want this guitar to look different than the other. I want to fill it with just general doodles and stuff. Some ideas have are some thought bubbles with the guitars thoughts (ex: "i hate playing this song" or "someone tell this moron i'm upside down" [im a lefty but gave up on finding a lefty acoustic so i just play a righty but hold it like a lefty])

But i also want it to be a place to just hold different aspects of my life or whatever comes to mind; inside jokes, angry birds, a tally mark chart for the amount of times i've dropped a pick into the hole, etc.

Essentially i want to doodle on that thing to the point that it looks like a brisk iced tea can. How do i go about doing that? do i need to sand it? are there certain markers i can and cant use?

Any tips are greatly appreciated!
