My existence is why I’m agnostic

I truly don’t want to believe any higher power would be cruel enough to create Black women and put us through this. ill never understand why so many of us are religious and see suffering as some proof of closeness to God. it objectively doesn’t make sense. He gave the “white devils“ the most success, beauty, love, respect and power over us because…we are his children?

I assume Black men that date white women hate Black women (and I’m usually right)

my experiences have taught me that they consistently compare BW to other races negatively. I’ve genuinely never encountered one (in person) that treated or spoke of BW normally while dating WW. All of them had offensive things to say about BW, including my male relatives that date other races yet are close with the women in their family.

I don’t have any issue with interracial relationships and Black men aren’t my preference whatsoever, but this is still always in the back of my mind when I see or am forced to interact with them. To the point where I just simply can’t see them as a viable romantic choice despite being a Black woman.

People getting mad when Black women are complimented or praised in any way

Go under any top/very liked post of someone calling a (full) Black and especially darker skinned woman beautiful and there will be several people disagreeing or accusing the person of lying for “social points”. this doesn’t happen with any other race of women

It never fails to astonish me how people genuinely get angry at even the idea of someone liking Black women. I noticed men in particular (especially some Black men) are guilty of this and will get upset if a guy they’re friends with or admire likes Black women. It’s not enough that they personally don’t like us, they want everyone to feel as they do.

I hate men constantly announcing they don’t like Black women

This is a common trend all over social media. it’s always Black women, never any other race getting constant unprovoked rejection or insults from men.

We get it already. Everyone is entitled to their preferences, we know how most men feel about us. Nobody is forcing anyone to date Black women, and nobody would care if you didn’t feel the weird need to announce it or rub it our faces.

Focus on women you like and leave us undesirables alone please. This has been a PSA 🙏🏾

We aren’t our own race’s beauty standard.

ive realized that when a fully Black dark skinned woman is seen as beautiful it’s only despite her skin/race, never because of it.

As we all know the beauty standard in the Black community is half white. women of other races can meet their beauty standards with small modifications or surgery, while it’s physically impossible for the average dark skinned woman to meet even the Black community’s standards.

I hate how fandoms treat Black female characters

There aren’t a lot of mainstream media with prominent Black female characters in general,  but when there is, you can bet they’re going to be controversial. It doesn’t matter how they’re written or presented either, just existing is enough for hate, and if they aren’t hated than they are typically ignored or dismissed by the fandom as not as interesting as the white characters

they are also demonized a lot for their flaws in ways other characters with the same or worse flaws never are.

Please don’t bring up race swaps because the SAME happens to original Black characters, and they are criticized and mischaracterized constantly.  And a few tokens like Storm are outliers that are popular because they aren’t really associated with Black identity, they just happen to have dark skin. Its almost like Black characters have to make people forget they are Black in order to be accepted

Since people don’t seem to believe Black women face a disproportionate amount of hate in fandoms of popular media, please take a look at this: https://stitchmediamix.com/2019/02/25/what-fandom-racism-looks-like-misogynoir-black-women-in-the-way/

“We need more flawed female characters” you guys can’t even handle Jada and Persephone

Orlock loves liquor more than his kids, Noel doesn’t respect consent, Brooke is a bigoted asshole, and Ludo is a manchild, but let’s hate on the old Black lady that likes yoga and astrology and the neurodivergent Black girl that thinks vampires are cool…..

What online games did you play growing up?

I was obsessed with MMOs and dress up games from the ages of 7-14, most of the ones above I played at some point.

Now as an adult my obsession takes the form of cozy games, life sims and RPGs, but I miss how free everything was (for the most part) and you didn’t need to pay to enjoy the full experience of a game

(if anyone can recommend games that give this feeling I will be eternally grateful)

[Controversial Trope] Supernatural Black characters

I love seeing Black characters that get to be supernatural and mythological beings, despite the outrage that occurs whenever they exist in media. Fictional creatures can be and look like literally anything and it takes a deeply miserable and unimaginative person to think otherwise

  1. Louis de Pointe du Lac and Claudia: Vampires from Interview With the Vampire

  2. Bonnie Bennett: a Witch from The Vampire Diaries

  3. Live action Ariel from The Little Mermaid

  4. Iridessa: a fairy from the Disney Fairies franchise

  5. Clawdeen Wolf, a werewolf from Monsters High

Wide noses on women?

I always hear that large noses are the biggest flaws especially for Black women but here are some women with wide noses that I find beautiful, I think in some cases it balances their face.

What does “Go where you’re loved” even mean?

I always see/hear this said when Black people complain about discrimination even within our own communities, but such a place quite literally does not exist.

Even African countries are plagued by anti-Blackness, colorism, xenophobia and brutal misogyny. As a dark skinned BW there is nowhere in the entire world I will be loved, valued or accepted the way women of other races are. i do not feel safe anywhere, and. I feel like I do not belong in any society. Its extremely depressing and that expression just feels like gaslighting.

[Loved] Privileged/Rich Black people thriving despite discrimination

  1. Dominique Deveraux, a wealthy, glamorous singer in the 1980s show Dynasty. portrayed by the iconic Diahann Carroll and known in television history as one of the first prominently featured Black roles on an American prime-time soap opera

  2. The Banks family from the hit 90s show, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (and the modern reboot). They shattered standard TV tropes and stereotypes by showcasing an affluent, highly educated, and successful Black family living in a Bel-Air mansion without losing touch with their culture.

  3. Peggy Scott, a main character from HBO’s The Gilded Age. She’s an educated writer from an upper class Black family in the 1880s, navigating a prejudiced society and the small community of the Black elite in New York City.

characters like these are all very important and refreshing to me as a Black woman that grew up in an upper middle class, suburban household. They show that our life experiences are not all poverty and struggle

Characters you dislike/hate?

I’m always mean to Orlock because he’s a drunk and shitty father, and Winston because he’s a bigot and coward lol. I enjoy giving them things they hate 😂

also Kim is my rival because my character is in love with Samael, so it’s on sight with her lol

everyone else is great and my friend

Curious to see what enemies others have made in the game
