Hey yall! I’m toying with the idea of writing a short story about the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The issue I’m running into is that of the races of the characters. I want my story to be diverse, but I’m worried some people would take offense to the races matched with each horseman. For example, if I made Famine have darker skin would people think I was hinting at the “starving kids in Africa” stereotype??

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but what races would you “assign” to each character that wouldn’t offend people? Hopefully yall understand what I’m getting at here😭

Hey yall, it won’t let me add a video here, but we recently brought in an abandoned kitten from our backyard about a month ago. He’s been doing great! But starting last night, he’s been walking kinda funky and I can’t tell if it’s just a kitten learning to walk, or if something is wrong.

His back legs sorta splay out and he doesn’t seem super stable, but he’s still playing and when I touch his legs it doesn’t seem to hurt. He’s around 6ish weeks old if I had to guess. I’ll try to add the video in the comments, thanks!

Hey again! Sorry for so many questions, I’ve never had a kitten this tiny before and yall have been giving me great advice! The baby (Bambi) has finally started suckling the bottle and taking the proper amount of formula for her size. Shes starting to (try to) groom herself and walk, but I’m struggling to get her to poop.

She’s been peeing with stimulation just fine before every feeding, but she’s been in the house with me for over 24 hours and I still haven’t been able to get her to poop. I’ve tried wipes, warm q tips, a warm dish to soak in before stimulation. Nothing seems to work and all she does is cry and wiggle around.

Unfortunately the vet isn’t really an option as we just spent $700 on our other cats, and we can’t surrender her to a shelter due to full capacity. I do want to keep this little baby Bambi, but I can’t get her to poop! Any advice would be appreciated :)

Hey yall! I’m the user that took in the little kitten yesterday that was outside in the Texas heat. We brought her in for the day and put her back outside for the night in a little cat house. On the camera we watched the mother come and take her out of the house (around midnight) and stay with her for a few hours, before leaving at 3am. She left her in a patch of dirt and never returned. I brought the baby back inside around 11am since it was getting warmer and we were working in the backyard (it’s a very small yard).

I had the camera on the yard the entire day and saw no sign of the mother coming for the baby. When the baby was outside in the morning she was constantly mewing for her mother but there was no sign of her. She’s been inside with me all day and has been taking formula well. Is it wrong to keep her inside away from her mom? I know you shouldn’t separate kittens from their mom, but the mom is basically a kitten herself and leaves her alone for 8+ hours uncovered and exposed.

I really worry about a possum or some other critter hearing her crying and coming to eat her, which is why I’m inclined to keep her inside. She’s been gaining weight and is starting to crawl and groom herself more. Any advice?

Hello! My partner and I just found a very tiny kitten in our backyard, they have their eyes open but can’t really walk around just yet. I’m in central Texas where it’s 100+ outside right now, and the poor thing was panting very hard and was super hot to the touch. We brought it in but I’m worried about separating it from its mother. What should we do? We have 2 cats already so we’re not inexperienced there, just inexperienced with a kitten.

Edit: we got PetLac kitten formula and weighed the kitten at 331 grams and are going to feed 2.5 teaspoons every 3 hours (according to the instructions). It was hard to get her to drink from the bottle but she was drinking from the palm of her hand

Hey yall! I love making quilts, but I have no need for more in my house lol. Do yall know of any organizations nearby that would take quilt donations? I just want them to go to a place where I know they’d be used and would be helpful to the recipient :)

I tested positive for the flu today which is awesome and sooo cool since I have my last final tomorrow! Perfect timing🙃 I got a note from the clinic excusing me from classes until Thursday and I don’t think I’ll be well enough tomorrow to take my test (and I don’t wanna get anyone sick obvi) but my professor isn’t responding to my emails and I’m getting worried. I emailed him at 9am and haven’t heard anything, and I know he doesn’t check his emails every day. My final is tomorrow morning and I’m scared he won’t let me make it up since it’s the last day of finals. Is he required to allow me a retest/some grade substitution due to being sick? It’s not like it’s my choice to have the flu and I genuinely would go to class if I could!!
