American celebrities on Uk traitors

This isn’t an American-hating post! I just have found that there’s a really clear ‘jarring’ effect from the few American celebs in amongst the others. Maybe it’s the manner of speaking/ accents sticking out, but it just felt like they didn’t quite fit in. Wondering if anyone else felt that or if it’s just me? The moments that stuck out most were Jerry Hall walking in in the morning and shouting about Richard and being met with blank/confusion, and Myha’la talking over people a lot (I know it’s par for the course in this game but it feels more noticeable- again maybe it’s just a volume/accent thing). I will add I felt horrible for Myha’la in the round table where she got emotional, she seemed so young and ganged up on in the room (again, I know it’s a game and it’s not that deep but bless her).

carrot buttons

Seen these called various things- “carrot mochi” / “savoury tang yuan” / “button noodles”, but they’re very easy and fun to make.

Pureed some cooked carrots and mix into a dough with glutinous rice flour (easy to find in most East Asian supermarkets. I added miso paste, garlic and ginger to the dough because otherwise they’re a bit bland.

basically pinch bits of dough into balls and press the centre with your pinkie to make a little dent. add them to boiling water until they’re floating.

Made a miso glaze to toss them in because they’re sticky!

One of those days today when I wanted to cook something that felt a bit more “involved” with some steps lol! 🥕

He’s hand-feeding!

When I adopted him, he was petrified of all humans (with good reason, poor thing). Now he knows his name (pebble) and has gone from tentative sniffing to taking food from my hand, to perching on my palm with his snack. Proud mother right here.

Adopted today. Meet Pebble

Previous owner ditched him because he had a minor skin reaction to something, (and they had kept him in a tiny cage in an environment which stressed him out so much he started chewing his own fur…)

6 months left in a tiny tank in a pet shop, with no one wanting him because he wasn’t a baby anymore and has a few allergies.

Went into the shop to get some treats for my mum’s dogs, came out with a new son <3333

He’s a robo dwarf hamster, and already so friendly and curious. I’m in love.

Favourite act 2 openers?

Based on a post I just saw about favourite act 1 endings, what are people’s favourite act 2 openings?

I love A Night We’ll Never Forget (Carrie) (funnily enough, “in” is one of my favourite ensemble openers, too)

to be fair… they were becoming rather scruffy wee buggers and needed a good trim, but this is pitiful. Still adore them though, but can’t wait for their fluff to grow back a little 😂😭
