all last semester i did many assignments with this fancy all-girls private school in my city, and lo and behold they still remember me and requested me for several days tomorrow through the next two weeks!

my question is, who has advice on the process to get full-time hired somewhere you already have a steady "in"? I've met many department heads and have been given leads on openings. however, their website states "at least three years teaching experience" as a requirement for hire; i feel like subbing counts, but even at that point, I've only been a substitute since January/ February of this year, i'm really early in my career.

how serious is that time experience requirement for most schools? this school would be shooting for the stars, but i want to have an idea of a path.

so I've never watched live streams of ANY game until the past week or two; now I've watched two full playthroughs of lis1 by two different streamer pairs doing it for their first time, and I'm having so much fun experiencing it again vicariously.

so, does anyone have recommendations for a playthrough on YouTube they find entertaining? keeping it to lis1 or bts because that's all I've personally played so far (hopefully to change very soon) and i don't want spoilers

i didn't agree with sooo many choices of these respective streamers, BUT that was part of the fun because i got to see results that I've never seen on my own playthroughs!

i haven't watched this episode in ages so i can't remember how any of the rest goes and paused it now so this is truly only about the part i just saw: when Kevin is on the roof and said he couldn't breathe/ couldn't get any air inside...... I'm feeling really emotional about it.

I'm also diagnosed bipolar. it's been many years since i had an acute manic episode, but last time i did, i spent a week straight sleeping in a field outside the town i was living in. "camped" with friends in the woods (taking psychedelics and staying up all night) several times that summer. i was so high on manic psychosis that i was scared to be indoors, to shower, to have artificial lights in my eyes.

i don't know if I'm really asking anything here, maybe just ranting cos that particular line really shook me. he's standing there on the roof, just like i used to take naps on cliff faces and hang my head over them, and i get how invigorating that feels. i recall what it's like to be that kind of sick.

anyone else relate? or just also affected by that scene? no need to reveal too much, maybe i just wanted to get this out. thank you for reading.

i was thinking last night about how we never get to see Stuckey's trial or sentencing, ofc it's implied he went to jail since he killed/ attempted to kill five people (and frame another).

however, no matter how cut-and-dry a case is, we know that everyone gets a defense attorney at trial. i realized what his theoretical lawyer would likely go with.

there's a very specific subset of PTSD known as "battered wife syndrome" (self-explanatory) and that has been used as a defense in the cases of women who attack/ kill their abusive partners.

there's a contemporary author i love, Jodi Picoult; one of her novels "nineteen minutes" showcases the trial of a school shooter. his lawyer employs a similar defense, coining it "bullied victim syndrome" as a sort of parallel (also pretty self-explanatory). my thought is that this is the one possible defense to use for Stuckey's case.

Stuckey knew everyone on the force pretty much hated him and ragged on him from the start; when he's tying Stabler up he even says "you shouldn't have been mean to me" which is wild as a motive, but that's what made this defense come to mind.

do i agree with it or think it would work in his favor, NO, but i thought I'd share this little thought project. again, everyone in the court system gets a defense, so that's what i think his lawyer would go with.

had anyone else ever wondered what a followup to Zebras (the finale of season 10, Stuckey's rampage) would be like?

hi all, life is strange (1) is an all-time favorite game, since around when it first came out to now! i also played before the storm in the past year, loved that too. however, beyond the intoxicating storytelling and incredible characters, i really love Max's powers in the original game. the concept to reverse/ jump through time has me thinking about it in real world application a lot, and i love a game with any surrealist/ magic abilities.

I'm getting curious to branch out into the rest of the series. of course a big part of why i play it/ show to friends is Max and Chloe (and Rachel in bts), but i'm not against trying LiS2 and learning new characters.

could someone please clue me in on the similarities, particularly does it involve the same time rewind abilities? any special "magic" at all? that would definitely make me want to try it next.
