Making a vehicular combat game inspired by the original Carmageddon (1997)

I'm currently making a game inspired by the original Carmageddon. The first time I played it was back in December 1997 with the XMAS Splat Pack demo. For me, the best Red Eagle will always be the one with the Christmas decorations!

One of the main differences in my project is that you mainly drive trucks across multiple racing modes. And of course, no weapons here, only the heavy weight of your vehicle to crush opponents!

I’m planning to launch the Steam page in a few weeks, but for now, I’m focusing on the "Software Mode" aesthetics and the overall mood. What do you think of the look?

Making a vehicular combat game inspired by the original Carmageddon (1997)

A few months ago, I tried Terrain3D to make a Daggerfall inspired demo just for fun and shared the video here. I liked using Terrain3D so much that I'm now making a real game, a post-apocalyptic one with big trucks!

Right now, I'm focusing on the aesthetics. I'm planning to launch the Steam page in a few weeks. Anyway, it's been a lot of fun playing around with all the WorldEnvironment settings, especially using a gradient for Color Correction.

Making a vehicular combat game inspired by the original Carmageddon (1997)

Hi everyone, I'm currently making a game largely inspired by the original Carmageddon from 1997, but with trucks! No weapons here, only the weight of your impacts. I’m going for a dark, gritty atmosphere with a "Software Mode" visual style.

I'm planning to launch the Steam page in a few weeks, but right now I'm focusing on the mood and aesthetics. If you want to see more updates later, you can check my X account link on my profile.
