Happening now on 17th in White Center

One of my corn plants was chewed up on the walkway. So I took the corn plant back to my garden shed where the squirrels have a nest, held it up and asked, "Did you do this?" Maybe I'm over-anthropomorphicizing, but that squirrel sure looked like it had that "Busted!" expression on its face.

Then I checked the security cam. Sure enough, guilty as charged.

I spread some coffee grounds around the remaining corn patch, added a small fence, and drizzled peppermint oil on the fence to reinforce my stern admonishment to the squirrel. They are very lucky to be so cute!

I went over by the trees, she finished eating on the other side of the yard from me, then cautiously went back and grabbed one more snack.

The rain didn't seem to dampen the party!

Look left-right-left before entering roadway. And maybe don't cross a double double yellow line.

These unexpected rocks made me smile on our morning walk.

Having read that squirrels like to sharpen their teeth on deer antlers, I decided to put one out next to their food dish and see what they do with it. Judging by this squirrel's body language, I image it saying, "What is that?"

Driver in straight-through lane stops with a green light, waits for left turn signal, then stops in front of cars in the left turn lane before doing a U-turn.

A couple months ago the squirrels made a nest in my garden shed, which they use only when it rains. It has been dry for a couple weeks, so the squirrelnestcam had not detected any motion until last night when it finally rained. Here is this morning's meet and greet.

Dish was empty when one of our squirrels stopped by. Then it looked up at our kitchen window where we sometimes watch for them.

Some squirrels moved into my garden shed, so I installed a security cam on their nest. I interpret the high pitched sounds as alarm calls made by the two squirrels on the left as the third squirrel on the right enters. I'm not sure, but the low pitched sound might be made by the third squirrel.

They seem to only use this nest when it's raining outside The security camera did not record anything further, so I don't know what happened afterward. The weather has been drier lately, so I haven't seem them in the shed. But they definitely still know where the plate is by our front door where we put nuts out for them!
