1987 constitution/Cory constitution sets us back.

Throughout history, there's no such thing as limited terms.

Nations prosper by 1 vision = 1 leader.

250 years ago, United States was born. They have become so powerful that scholars think it's an anomaly.

Why 6 year term never work for a developing nation.

  1. This system was imposed by the United States to all nations to keep them from prospering making sure no rivals will arise against the United States unless the nation is willing to become a US vassal state.

That's why the US is really against authoritarianism.

1a. Election allows foreign powers to install puppet leaders for their own interest eg. Zelensky, Pahlavi

  1. Authoritarianism boost economic development rapidly because there are no obstructing projects, political differences/ideologies in implementing projects.

eg. China, Singapore, UAE, Dubai.

Authoritarian or highly centralized systems can have an advantage when they combine political continuity with competent institutions.

1 vision = 1 leader.

There's no endless debates whether we need HSR or what policies are more important.

What must be done gets done.

Wala na yung, "kailangan ba natin yan?", "sayang pera jan", "pano na ang kalikasan?"

  1. When you have political parties in constant disagreements, slow paced development becomes inevitable.

After the leader finishes his term, the new leader who is likely from the opposition party will discontinue the previous admin's legacy to erase any traces of accomplishments.

This creates an endless cycle of build and destruction after election.

eg. Philippines

  1. Huge infrastructure projects take 10~30 years to mature. With our current system of 6-year terms, it becomes susceptible to being redesigned, renamed, delayed, cancelled, investigated, or replaced.

eg. Subway, Mindanao Railway

  1. Because there's no 1 vision, it becomes unpredictable for foreign investors.

It becomes difficult to invest if tax policy, industrial policy, energy policy, foreign investment rules, trade policy

can change any time.

eg. PNOY cancelled Belgian project

  1. Short term leadership such as 6-year term barely produce anything significant.

They will only work for 4 years. The next 2 years will be a preparation for the next election.

eg. Impeaching political rivals, stealing government funds for election campaigns.

Makes me wonder bakit yung senador 12 years then congressman 9 years. Dapat yung presidente rin 10+ years to make a difference

What happens if the leader is incompetent?

We kick him out. That's it. Just a vote of no confidence.

No need to wait for another 6 years or election to install a competitive leader.

Pero ganito din naman ang America?

In the US it's 4 years with 2 terms. Pero look what America has become?

Sobrang gulo ng pulitika nila. Wala para rin sila HSR until now pinagdedebatihan.

Note:

The goal is not for permanent leadership. The goal should be the permanent national direction.

And no, I don't want BBM to continue.

BBM redeemed the Marcos name

Prior 2022, if you don't know history, the Marcoses are vilified because of human rights abuses, torture, assassination, disappearances, and plundering the nation.

2022, the loyalists wanted Marcos back. The DDS gave Marcos a chance to redeem their name; fooled by golden age. The pinklawans are still remembering and reminding the Marcos atrocities.

2026, the loyalists are still loyal. The DDS experienced the greatest betrayal. The pinklawans have now become Marcos apologists and we will probably see a tandem come 2028.

The once great rivals are now united. Ironically, the result of uniteam.

BBM redeemed their name by telling their once great rivals "I am not your enemy."

People actually hate democracy

In any democratic country/society, people are brainwashed to love and enjoy democracy.

But reality speaks differently. People subconsciously don't like the will of the majority.

Democracy breeds resentment to the losers. They would rather see the winning candidate fail than support it.

They would even sabotage, spread disinformation to prove the majority made the wrong choice.

Democracy is only "achieved" when it favors them. If not, they would say democracy is dead or under threat.

Para saan yung Rocket ng pangulo?

It is too random.

Ang daming problema.

May infrastructure na mas dapat i-prioritize.

I watched aunt Claire's press briefing, she only said it is part of progress.

What problem is it trying to solve?

BBM endorsing Leni is a disaster

It will be a huge humiliation if she lost twice.

She will not get INC vote because of BBM vs Marcoleta.

She will not get Muslim vote because of Robin.

VisMin/OFWs are still solid Duterte.

There's no more solid north without Singson.

BBM's negative trust ratings just means +0 advantage to her

The only advantage is campaign funds dahil sa trilyon na ninakaw.

Better protect Leni from humiliation.

I really like this design.

I've always been drawn to chain designs ever since I was a child. It's just so cool.

To me, a chain symbolizes restraint. Growing up, I didn't have the freedom I wanted because I was bound by school. After graduating, that feeling didn't disappear—I simply traded one set of chains for another through work and responsibilities.

But a chain doesn't only symbolizes restraint. It also represents connection. Every link is connected to the next, reminding me that discipline, consistency, and responsibility are all connected. The very things that can feel like chains are often what lead us toward growth, purpose, and eventually, true freedom.

I like wearing these because they remind me that freedom is never absolute. We are all bound by something—our desires, responsibilities, or ambitions.

You will own nothing and rent everything.

With the latest news that physical copies will no longer be produced starting 2028, i can't help to think that sooner or later digital games will only be for rent.

As someone who owns properties, it is logical for me to lease them than sell them. I'd rather have $2,000 every month than sold my properties. I think that's the logical thing to do since there's really no point hoarding more money in the bank.

In the early 2000s, I remember owning 1-time purchase softwares such as Microsoft, Adobe, etc. Today, I have to pay as a form of subscription monthly or yearly. They realize people stop paying if there are physical copies since owners just re-sell them.

Sooner or later, digital games will be next. They gatekeep online-play through subscription and people comply. They can try on games being rented. It's inconvenience for the consumer but infinite cashflow for the producer.

Imagine 1 billion people paying $10 a month to play games, their children will pay, their grand children will pay, and all their descendants will pay since they don't own the physical copy. That's $10 billion per month to infinity and that's just 1 billion people. There's approximately 3.5b gamers.

Do you guys think Physical copies will skyrocket?

For me yes especially rare copies. Far in the future, they will become a "relic from the past" and people will collect them from the pawnshops.

Leni Robredo lacks charisma

Leni lacks or no charisma like Risa et al.

Her base support comes from the persevering dilawan cult and the new born voters.

She failed to pull the votes from the working class because of her boring speeches.

Her speeches don't move mountains. There's no emotions. Puro play-safe yung speeches nya.

Afraid to offend. Critics perceive her speeches as nothing but motherhood statements.

Unlike the likes of Meriam Santiago or Rodrigo Duterte. They speak their minds. People laugh. People can relate.

These leaders express emotions; Anger. Frustration. Passion. People feel and see they are just being human, alive.

They don't need scripts to talk to the people.

Leni on the other hand. I never see her show emotions. Parang puppet lang ng Liberal Party.

Totally scripted yung sinasabi niya: "Oh eto mam yung sasabihin mo.. at eto"...

Every time she tries to speak for herself, it starts with "Ang sa akin lang..."

A strong leader speak his/her mind and won't give a shit on the upcoming backlash.

When she criticizes the Duterte admin for the "EJKs", walang ka passion2x, walang emotions, parang galing lang sa script.

Not authentic. She wasn't a strong opposition driven and thirsty of just and good governance.

Ngayong bilyon2x or mahigit trilyon ang ninanakaw, she should lead the opposition pero waley maybe because alam nya sa sarili nya na wala syang charisma to move people into the streets.

Inday Sara has no charisma

Despite being at the top of the surveys, I find it hard to connect with her.

Unlike Digong, who is relatable; mukhang dugyot, speaks the language of the masses, down to earth.

Maybe it is the way she talks; matigas mag tagalog. Maybe her masculine sound and appearance makes her unattractive. Mukhang si Fiona.

But to be fair may aura talaga sya. When I saw her in person , iba yung dating. Mapapalingin ka talaga. Maybe because of her height and skin tone.

I made a personal artwork for my childhood heroes.

These are the games that shaped me to love JRPGs.

In my early years, I only played games in the Japanese language because they were the only games I had.

I had no idea what was going on, but as a child with limitless time, I just kept on exploring, killing monsters, pressing random menus and options to figure things out.

Chrono Trigger – My first JRPG. I really loved the art and the music. The combo abilities are very cool.

Somehow, despite not understanding what was going on in the story, I kept going back against a one-eyed monster with a giant spiky shell.

I managed to finish it. The last boss was tricky though. No matter what I did, I wasn’t able to kill it, only to find out I had to target its left arm. Amazing game. Amazing characters.

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War – My first tactical role-playing game. I finished this game multiple times. My first JRPG where I had to save and recruit heroes.

I find the art really amazing. The critical attacks really astonished me, very flashy. The Holy Weapons making shimmering sound before entering a battle is WOW. The reason I played this game multiple times is because of the parental system, where I could pair heroes to produce talented children. The story is kinda tragic. I don’t know what’s really going on since it’s in the JP language, but looking at the faces of the characters and the corresponding music, something sad is happening.

In the end, I was still able to finish it. I was able to avenge Sigurd.

Tactic Ogre: Let Us Cling Together – My second tactical role-playing game, still in the JP language. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish it. My SNES kept erasing my save files.

I remember the game being very deep. There were too many items, too many maps, too many classes and races, and too many choices.

What I remember most is going to a certain map and threw stones against my own characters to level them up. I kept repeating it until I was OP enough for the next battle.

I finished the game when it got ported to the PSP. There are a lot of things I missed, and there’s still much to do, so I bought the PS5 version for the next playthrough.

Suikoden V – Finally, a game with English voices and language, played on the PS2. Every playthrough felt different enough that I didn’t get bored. I find recruiting heroes kinda addicting due to my previous experiences.

100+ recruitable characters, to the point where every new NPC made me suspicious: “This one has to be recruitable.”, all with unique abilities. I can’t remember enjoying the gameplay, but I invested a lot of time researching how to recruit miss-able heroes.

Final Fantasy X – My first “modern” game at that time. Man, this game was so ahead of its time. The graphics blew my mind. The game is so deep. So many hidden missions.

So much to do. Like many JRPGs I played, there’s always that side content, and man, this game’s side content is huge: The Arena, the Celestial Weapons, the Dark Aeons, and Penance—content that felt optional at first, but slowly took over my entire playtime. But it was the story that made me love this game. It’s the reason I played FFX-2, because I wanted a happy ending.

Final Fantasy XII – At first, I didn’t like this game because I was still attached to FFX/FFX-2 and couldn’t let go of them. The map (Dalmasca) is very hot; it hurt my eyes and made me sweat.

So I put it down. I gave it another chance, and oh boy, this game probably has the best gameplay mechanics there are. Like FFX, I kept discovering new systems long after I thought I was done with the game. The world is so huge.

No more random encounters. I played this game like Ragnarok Online because I could see the monsters now.

The Gambit system is probably one of the reasons I became a programmer. Configuring how your characters should act in battle so that you can play with less human intervention just feels so good.

Honorable mentions:

Suikoden Tactics – more recruits

FFX-2 – better gameplay than FFX

Now that I’m in my mid-30s, I draw my childhood heroes and hang them on my wall—not for nostalgia, but to remind myself where this journey started. It took me about two years to finish because, you know… life gets busy.

Takedown my post if bawal. Can you recommend me a self-winding watch?

Ordinaryong Juan lang ako and gusto ko magka Rolex not because of prestige but because it's economic. No need na mag switch ng batteries because it is self-winding. I love the idea of "perpetual motion".

Can you recommend me a self-winding watch? Yung maganda sana ang quality, much cheaper, and lasts longer.

I checked the market, marami pero not sure ano yung proven and tested. Not sure if meron na nasa range of 10k~20k

People who quit tech jobs, what did you pursue/your job after?

Sorry if the question is stupid since malamang yung former programmers wala na dito.

The rise of AI coding is already here. Before sabi ko, no way AI can replace coding due to complexity and I WAS DEAD WRONG. Talo ako in every aspects.

Speed. Accuracy. Self-correcting. Error handling. Best practices. Always available. Hindi reklamador. Yung lamang ko nalang siguro is understanding business logic but even managers can do it.

The realization came when:

  1. A task that I estimated to be finished in 3 days, less than 30mins lang tinapos ng AI.
  2. Yung COO, manager ko, built an entire site without any knowledge of coding by himself and now has become our #1 product. It replaced yung previous #1 product namin built by 8 developers. That's a big slap for me since ako yung go-to programmer nya now I felt useless.

Since then, a year ago, the company I'm working with made a rule that we will no longer code and we will vibe-code onwards.

What we are really just doing right now is maintenance. The lack of meaningful tasks is demoralizing. Nawala na yung sense of accomplishment in solving/building complicated tasks.

Right now I'm only working 1~2hrs per day since ubos na yung tasks and I think termination is on the way. We terminated 5 developers 5 months ago and so d malabong mangyari din sakin.

So I wanna ask, what adventures/jobs in life are you on right now after leaving tech industry? No IT industry jobs please since ayaw ko na sa tech because of competition with AI.

Nakapagpundar naman ako ng rental properties at age 36 so I will survive even if losing a job but I don't want to live a meaningless life, i want to work at least 4hrs.

As proof that I own gold.

I want to listen or read why you should not buy gold. Why it's a scam.

I want to hear a differing perspective or opinion on the matter. Because listening to the other side may bring wisdom.

But I can't find any.

If you go to other arenas: Crypto, Sports, Politics, Brands, etc. you can find polarity/opposing views. People are debating who and what's best. There's always a backlash on something that is popular.

Is gold really just valuable and there's no debate about it?
