Ferry from North Haven > Rockland

Traveling to Maine for the first time next month and despite all of my preparedness, I didn’t call early enough to reserve the morning ferry out of North Haven (I called at 9:30am, a month in advance, and was immediately 9th in line). Once I got through only the latest ferry was available, and the person on the phone said to show up at the ferry office the day prior to get a line number.

For my own peace of mind, can someone tell me if it’s especially difficult/cutthroat to get on a 7:30am ferry out North Haven on a Monday? Apparently they only accept 4 reservations per ferry — but I don’t know how many slots that leaves for those who didn’t reserve.

Royal Canin S/O: new formula?

For years, both of my boys ate Royal Canin S/O, soft loaf. One gobbled it up (tabby), the other one had to be convinced (tux). Finally, I decided to switch it up and try Hills C/D, and that went okay for a while. The other day a neighbor offered me a case of the Royal Canin and I figured I’d give it to my less picky boy. Well, both of them ended up having it and my pickier boy is now obsessed with it. So my question is, in the past year or so, did your cat seem to be more excited about Royal Canin? Is there any chance that they changed the ingredients to make it more enticing?

Here we go again. Meet Captain. Bullied stray cat needs your help.

Feeling like a real cat magnet this summer for the most pitiful kitties. This is Captain. He's been trying to survive in a backyard but the other cats in that area have been bullying him nonstop. Finally, the homeowners' daughter managed to bring him inside and now he's back from the vet and, whadya know, super friendly. Poor guy needs to decompress from what he's just been through. Would anyone be willing to foster this guy? He's just a baby, not even 2 years old...

Desperately seeking fosters.

This subreddit has come through for me before so I’m hopeful it will again. We are rescuing more cats than we have crates at this point!

Gabrielle the tabby basically walked into her rescuer’s arms. She is spayed and ready for the indoor life.

Midnight’s owner has to move because their building was sold and somehow this means Midnight is being evicted altogether.

And of course: the kittens, Little Gem and Cress. Found along with their mom and siblings in the dumping ground that is the junkyard next to a post office.

You know what comes next: does anyone want to foster any of these babies? Happy to answer any questions about what this would entail. Please reach out! The sad truth is that we can’t help any more cats until these guys are in foster and we have room.

Hanukkah ‘25 encore

On the eve of the presale, I feel compelled to ask about something I’ve been thinking of for 7 months. I was at the 12/17 Hanukkah night where they covered Patti Smith’s “Free Money,” and Fred Neil’s “Little Bit of Rain.” At one point both were on YouTube but now long gone. Does anyone here have videos of either? I would be eternally grateful.

Please help: Cats discarded like trash.

In the span of 24 hours, two young tabbies were dumped. One, right on the street. The other was “luckier,” given away for free on Facebook. Each one now desperate for a foster home.

Both are getting vetted on Friday. And then maybe they can bunk with you for a little bit? Please note, they’re not a duo! They just have the sad fact in common that their humans failed them.

If you’re interested in fostering, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Happy to answer any questions you may have!

Beautiful tabby needs a foster.

Hope this kind of post is ok! Looking for someone local who can open their heart + home to this poor cat that was found drenched outside in last week’s storm. Please reach out if you have any questions about fostering, in general or for this kitty specifically!

Local cats desperately seeking foster homes!

I was inspired by a recent post about fostering that appears to have been successful so I’m hoping for the same outcome. 🤞

Several kitties recently rescued in Carroll Gardens are looking for a place to stretch their legs. If you’ve ever considered fostering, please let this be the post that convinces you! Happy to share more details so feel free to DM…
