I grew up watching ATLA (currently 21) and I genuinely believe his character is the reason why I now prefer the “villain” and or “morally grey” characters in fiction, specifically Romantasy.

(He was thought to be a villain all the while having daddy issues and trying to be an honorable man, which he proved to be time and time again. And his redemption arc proved to be the best one throughout the series in my opinion.)

((Also I would have loved him and Katara to be together but that’s a complaint for another time))

Octavia from the 100 is such a badass (who had every reason to have a villain era btw)

Her love story with Lincoln was such a romantic tragedy it broke my heart but I loved them together.

I loved them together in GOT they were so peak(to me they should have been end game((as I’m not really into rape or incest)) he was the best option for her imo)

Anyway he was basically like a guard and advisor and I loved that he swore his life to protect and follow her.

Is this book written in the future, telling the events of the people in it, like a war love story or something?

Does this mean everyone in this book is dead and someone is telling their story?

Just finished Iron Flame by RY, and I need something to take my mind off of it.

So that leads me to Throne of Glass.

What’s something I won’t know until I read the series?

I just finished Iron Flame. Oh my gosh.

I don’t know where to begin other than saying this book finished me.

The journey of Violet and Xaden in this book was realistic and beautiful. In most books I see how the author skims over issues as if they were nothing, and issues get fixed over night (to me that is unrealistic) Violet and Xaden clearly struggled with trust in this book, for good reason, and they never gave up, and continued to work together in order to make things work.
I can understand why people were so annoyed with them constantly fighting, but sometimes that’s how it is in relationships. Your boundaries are crossed and you want to do everything you can to make things work.

The war and politics were phenomenal. I love a book with a great revolution, fighting the hidden history for its people.

The world building in this was truly magnificent as well. The description of the scenery was well written. I loved the character development of Violet and Andarna in this book.

Here are a couple of things I have issues with:

In my opinion, I did not read enough of Xaden. Wish I could have had more of his pov.

Sometimes it felt as though there was information overload in a very short period of time. It made it a little difficult for me to understand certain aspects and concepts within the story. But I made sure to do research so I could understand!

I would also like to mention the timeline was a bit off and possibly a little confusing for me during this book. It did not make sense at times but maybe I was reading too quickly and not really digesting what I was reading.

I do wish I could have seen more of Xaden and Violets relationship within this book but the war, politics, and other characters made up for it.

This is the only book that has ever made me cry, and it was because of Liam and Lilith.

Whilst reading this book, I couldn’t help but notice some subtle foreshadowing (not that I haven’t read the third book) but I could tell that RY likes to leave hints in her books (from my experience with FW at least)

I read Fourth Wing back in February and finally decided to pick up Iron Flame because I kept rereading FW. I have decided I’ll wait to read OS until the actual 4th book comes out. My self control will be immaculate after this.

(I have been hated on for waiting to read the next book in this series before, so I’d like to state: I am in this subreddit because I want to be, and I don’t care for spoilers. I don’t want to read the third book yet because it’s just my personal preference. So there’s no reason to get mad at me and tell me to leave just because I choose not to read the third book yet, especially if I don’t care for spoilers)

First time reading the series…

This is my first time crying over a book, let alone book character. I never thought this would happen, yet here I am, bawling my eyes out for Liam throughout chapters 35-36.

Liam. You will forever have a special place in my heart.

Hoping somehow he will be brought back in a future book, for good.

Background info: I downloaded tinder about a month ago as I’m a student in uni just on it for funsies.

Ended up matching with this guy and we haven’t stopped talking since.

This is my second time seeing him and he gifted me the whole throne of glass set!
