eMotos are getting a LOT of heat now
Seeing more and more posts like this on socials. Directly underneath it was a video from the North Vancouver RCMP talking about illegal e-motos.
You know the saying that "when the shoe shine person gives you stock tips, the top of the market is in"?
Yea, this is like that. Days are numbered for unregistered e-motors.
Not sure about the mullet thing. Change my mind?
I'm planning on buying an ex-demo bike from my LBS in September once the MTB rental season comes to a close. The bikes in question:
- Norco Sight VL2 Bosch A2
- Norco Range VLT CX C2
- Trek Rail+ 9.7
- Santa Cruz Bullit 90-Kit
- Santa Cruz Vala 90-Kit
Every single one of these is a mullet.
I currently ride:
- Orbea Occam H30
- Norco Bigfoot VLT
- Surface604 Shred mid-drive (custom build)
What's missing is a full suspension eMTB. However, I have an aversion to the mullet setup for whatever reason and I'm not sure why. For those that ride mullet, why? What do you like about it over straight 29" wheels?
The disparate in-app capabilities are mega frustrating (but also easy to solve)
Sometimes it feels like Govee has arbitrary disconnects between its products, often on functions that don't demand it from a hardware POV.
For example, I just got the new Lantern, and in the settings you can adjust what it does after a power cycle (keep its current settings, return to a default, etc). This would be SUPER HELPFUL for all their bulbs and ceiling fixtures, yet the bulbs - and most fixtures - don't support this. Why not?
Another example: why can the ceiling lights not have the top ring lights on when the illumination feature is being used? Why does it have to be one or the other when they are two different parts of the fixture?
I've learned about a lot of random stock tickers because of typos I make when I Google things.
reddit.comMy LBS had this on sale for a great price. 114 km on it, with 720 wh battery and studded tires. I had to have it.
I wanted it to replace the 2023 iGO Torngat I have since I just blew out the hub on the Torngat, and since the rear axle is a dropout, you can't actually upgrade the hub (as far as I know, I'd love to be wrong).
So here we are with a very expensive replacement and a lesson learned!
I took the Bigfoot for a 15 km ridge carving shakedown last night and had a blast. It handily ounterforms the iGO Torngat and Himiway D5 mid-drive I have in my garage, and it's only 55 lbs (13 lbs less than the Torngat, and 22 lbs less than the Himiway).
