Software to use extra buttons Gamesir

I've only ever used a standard Xbox controller and got a Gamesir G7 Pro recently. It's cool that it has all these extra buttons that I was hoping to map to combos or macros, but all you can do is map them to existing buttons. All I can do is map e.g L4 to another existing button which is basically useless for me. As far as I can tell, this is a limitation of XInput.

So is there a good way/software to actually map useful functionality to the extra buttons? What do you all do with all these extra buttons when they can't do anything?

My life is heading to 40-year old virgin

My life is becoming like the movie 40yo virgin slowly. For many reasons I never dated before and now i keep getting older and part of me wants companionship and sex and love and all that, but it’s just more comfortable to not do any of that. There’s always a million distractions and time sinks, chores, stresses, excuses and im just kind of sinking into a puddle of taking it easy all the time. Rarely cook, order food or readymade meal kits. Spend all day playing games or watching YouTube. I was more ambitious with my career but after so many setbacks and the gradual corruption and enshittification of capitalism I don’t really care that much anymore. Is this just what getting old is?

What a shit first experience

I've played and beaten plenty of FPS' and horror games so I picked hardcore. Turns out, its basically impossible to beat the "Survive the attack" 30 minutes into the game now. Even if you kill some enemies, there doesn't seem to be a limit to them and they grapple onto you within 6 feet and you have no idea who's behind you. I can't go back to try to conserve ammo or something earlier in the game, I can't change the difficulty either? It doesn't offer to change the difficulty no matter how many times I die either, and I'm tired of dying 50 times already and do not want to run this fucking part again. So now I'm just stuck.

What a shit experience man :/ I know its fucking trivial to allow changing difficulty mid game, who makes this shit?

Double completing tasks because of notifications

I have a daily recurring task at say 8PM. I get notifications on both Mac and iOS to complete it. I mark as complete on Mac and the next instance of task is tomorrow. Now the notification on iOS doesn't go away, it stays in my screen - why? where is the syncing? It's marked as time-sensitive notifications on both. And worse, if i mark as complete on iOS now, it will mark tomorrows task complete and move the next instance to day after - so I will miss tomorrow's instance without knowing.

This is just... really stupid? I don't always remember if I've marked a task complete on one or the other already, but I now need to remember this to not silently skip my tasks? is there a way around this?

Warning: CIBC has a scammy "fixed overdraft" fee

I haven't logged onto my CIBC account in a long time, mostly just keeping the credit card open. Saw they've been charging me a $5 monthly "fixed overdraft fee" every month, on an account that has plenty of money. It's not a monthly account fee, its not $5 for actually overdrafting, its a fixed $5 that you pay regardless of if you ever overdraft lol...

I never signed up for anything like this, apparently they opted me in and you have to go in and opt out of it. I dug through my email and found a notice, so technically they informed me to cover their asses but its still crazy to opt you in to something like this.

Its not a lot of money but this is just so incredibly scammy, had to tell everyone. Wealthsimple is getting better every month and has 0 fees, meanwhile CIBCs website has been unchanged for a decade now and they're tacking on bullshit fees. Going to be closing my account here.

"Only some accounts can reply"

Over the last few weeks, I've started seeing this "Only some accounts can reply" on a bunch of posts, locking me out of replying.. I can even see some accounts who aren't followed by the poster can reply, so its not just limited to people who the OP follows. So this seems like some kind of shadowban bullshit by the algo now? Anyone else seen this?

Pi/Codex/Claude Code integrations with Openclaw/Hermes?

I've been using claude code for a while and am moving to Pi now. I also set up openclaw earlier and moved to hermes recently. I understand the technical details of like what Pi is and what Hermes is roughly... but for some reason I just cant wrap my head around what the workflow should look like and interaction between these 2 tools if any.

Right now I guess I have a wezterm session with a bunch of pi agents running that ill SSH into, and hermes runs separately and isn't doing much now, but i plan to give it access to my notes, todos and build some simple automations and use it more like a Jarvis/secretary. So thats the separation i have in mind - Pi is a coding agent, Hermes is a personal assistant.

But then I keep thinking there are probably many times I want these 2 things to be part of the same system. I'd like my assistant to have knowledge of all my coding sessions, id like to have one centralized cross platform view of all my coding sessions with PI as well as all my chats and crons etc. with Hermes.. so is there a good way to integrate these tools together? Do you just spawn Pi threads from Hermes? Have you found benefit in some deeper integration, or do you keep them separate?

Defending vs attacking french

French is such a piece of shit civ man, unbelievable. To defend you have to constantly micro spearmen to dodge their archers and run them around your entire base at 1/2 the speed of knights while microing your archers to kill their archers and microing villagers every fucking 5 seconds when their knights rotate oh and make sure to V the spears so they brace but don’t V too long before the knights move away. Oh don’t forget you need to manage economy for production of spears and archers/horsemen while constantly being idled. Maybe build a tower. Remember to garrison and ungarrison when the knights come!

Meanwhile to attack as French, you A-move knights, rotate away when the spears come out and A-move again.

What the fuck is this.. i hate this fucking game and most of all i hate the french.

I have social anxiety but its not false beliefs

Social anxiety is framed as false beliefs about how you're perceived and so the solution is exposure, to go out into uncomfortable situations and learn that you aren't broken. But mostly when I do that, I do find signs that people truly begin to dislike me. It will be fine in the beginning, but after some time things shift. At a conference the best case is I will talk to someone and the conversation is fine but it just kind of goes nowhere and fizzles out whereas other people somehow build a rapport and keep going. Maybe I say something too political, or too weird or just don't have the right filter and the vibe starts to shift - maybe they slowly try to leave the conversation, or it just doesn't work. Someone who was friendly one day becomes cold the next. Then I know I've done something wrong, but I never know what, and they would never tell me.

I tried working with therapists earlier but its a totally artificial environment with them, i don't behave the same with them because I'm not afraid of being judged as much, im not trying to get them to like me so much, and they don't judge me the same as normal people do. I have worked on my social skills to some extent and they are decent I would say, but they never get sophisticated enough to handle real situations.

So it feels like an unsolvable problem to me. You can't simulate the game, and no one ever tells you what you did wrong in the real game and anyways there is no room for mistakes there. You can read books or watch videos or whatever but its not really learnable like that. So you're just fucked. What am I supposed to do?

I want to move to YT music from Spotify, but my main problem is when I listen to music on YT Music, it starts flooding my main YT homepage with music recommendations and drowns out the videos I want. I don't want to have to constantly switch accounts or something. Is there any way to avoid this? If you mark the music as not interested on YT a few times, does it stop doing that?
