Tamarind in Malaysian Beef Rendang?

Tamarind in Malaysian Beef Rendang?

Hi, i’m non-Malaysian and wanting to make Beef Rendang for the first time. I have all the core ingredients but i’m seeing mixed recipes online—some with tamarind paste, some without. That’s the only thing i’m having second thoughts about so wondering if anyone can help?

Do i add tamarind paste to beef rendang or no?

Month 3ish of being woken up in the middle of the night by my brain🥴

Typing this from my timezone where i should technically be asleep😩🥲 My bf tried to confiscate my phone earlier to try and help me sleep but ultimately realized i’ve been way past my half awake state and resigned to giving my phone back. Bless his heart he knows i’ll probably be cranky around the middle of the day but loves me anyway🤧😂 anyone who can give me tips feel free😂

Hekisuien Chiyo no Sakae

Second pic didn’t do it justice, first pic was from my 1st cup of the day.

Alot more on the bitter side, with a hint of vegetal and umami notes, good amount of nuttiness with a creamy finish. Not my favorite for lattes but great for when i’m craving my matcha flavor ‘strong’.

4g matcha
20-30ml water
130-140g Trader Joe’s shelf stable oat milk
8g agave
1tbsp or so of water to flush out leftover matcha from chawan

Tip: I mix the agave into the 1tbsp of water when I’m flushing the leftover matcha from the chawan. I eliminated having to stir the syrup afterwards as i prefer swishing my matcha and sipping instead of wasting a straw or spoon

I am very close to giving up on paying for commercial matcha lattes

Pic 1 - first matcha of the day
Pic 2 - my first experience traveling with my matcha tools and making them in my hotel room

I’m so close to giving up on commercial matcha lattes. I already spend a fortune on purchasing my own matchas, milk, tools, etc. and* *I already know how I like my matcha lattes made. Plus I’m guaranteed it’ll come out great every single time.

I just came from a trip to the east coast in the US and spent nearly $11 including tip for a tasteless, watered down, horrible matcha (thank goodness it was still green) and I didn’t even bother taking a picture of it cause it was that bad. It was so underwhelming the matcha lattes I made in my hotel room during the trip (Pic 2) blew that single one to the ground—hands down way better than the $11 one.

Anyone else feel the same way or is it just me?

Hindi alam ng boyfriend ko how much his gesture meant to me

So kakagaling ko lang sa isang out of town na kasal ng kaibigan ko. For context I live overseas and yung kasal was on the other side of the country I now live in. Yung bf ko mixed foreigner and less than a year palang kami magkasama. The day before I left magulo yung bahay ko—hindi ako nakapaglinis ng pinaglutuan, nakapag-laundry, nakapagtapon ng basura. I don’t expect him to pick up on any responsibilities in my house.

Anung gusto mo kainin?” Ako naman I wasn’t expecting him to really do everything but the dinner. I said I wanted Kaldereta and just thanked him. I didn’t wanna expect too much from someone I’ve only dated for awhile.

Nung asa grocery din kami nakakita ako ng dalawang C2 na peach at lychee flavored sabi ko “omg i grew up drinking C2 lemon i had no idea they had these flavors!” Sabi niya “baby get them, get whatever you want” 😭 Tae girl C2 lang yun pero touched na touched nako 😭

That was a major realization for me bakit nakipaghiwalay ako sa kanya—lahat ng ng energy and oras niya napupunta either sa work or sa parents niya, ako afterthought nalang kahit na asawa ako.

To be seen is to be loved nga talaga.

Philippines Matcha Haul 🇵🇭💕

They’re heeeereee🥹

A good friend from the PH was kind enough to purchase the full lineup of Kyoto House, a PH-owned matcha store sourcing their matchas from Japan❤️ She even brought their matcha cup and box along with the tins😭

Chashakus and chasen were purchased separately from online sellers in the PH😋

Help: How does my sourdough starter look like? Should I be feeding both?

It’s my first time making a sourdough starter and need some help with experts. For context, S1 was made fron scratch on 6/4, I did not measure the flour or water but just kept feeding it and followed some TikTok lady who suggested just that🥲. On 6/13 I decided to take out some of it to make S2 with a 1:5:5 ratio.

Now I’m not sure how to go about both because of so much info inline that i’m not sure which advice to follow and I feel bad discarding if I can just give it away to neighbors in order to start their own. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
