Can I go back to working out postpartum if I feel ready (pre 6 week checkup)?

5 weeks PP had an uncomplicated VBAC. I feel pretty good physically. Even picked up my 35 lb toddler a few times.

Mentally am deteriorating. Working out, especially weight lifting, is a big tool in my mental health kit.

If I feel ready can I start with some light weights (3-8lbs) until I have my 6 week check up where hopefully I’m cleared to do more?

Walking isn’t cutting it for me and I’m sliding into depression. Had PPD last time and can tell I’m getting it this time.

How to mentally prepare for a chance that VBAC fails?

Not sure if this is the right subreddit tbh.

I’m a big planner but want a VBAC, and we all know that labor and delivery is hard to plan.

37 + 2 and having some signs of that labor is progressing (dilation and effacement has started, mucus plug loss, Braxton Hicks). If I don’t go into spontaneous labor in the next week I have a membrane sweep scheduled at 38 + 3, if that doesn’t work I have another one scheduled for 39 + 1 and if that doesn’t work I have a c section scheduled for 39 + 4. I have medication controlled GD so I can’t go over 39 + 6. It’s a pretty tight timeline.

While I really want a VBAC and have been preparing for that I know there’s a chance that I still end up with a c section. Whether it’s the one that’s scheduled or an unscheduled one after I TOLAC. My last pregnancy I attempted a vaginal delivery and ended up in an unscheduled c section.

I feel … kind of like a failure already if I can’t successfully VBAC and end up with a c section.

How do I mentally prepare myself for that scenario and not feel like a failure?

VBAC, too late for a doula

I’m less than 4 weeks away from my due date and have been flip flopping between a VBAC and a scheduled c section.

The more I look into VBAC the more I realize there is so much I didn’t know the first time: positions, breathing, relaxing my pelvic floor etc.

I know it’s too late to find a good doula who can talk
us through options on the day.

Did I screw my chances of having a successful VBAC?

FreeStyle Libre 3 constantly low

Trying to see if other people are having this issue.

I was using the Stelo CGM out of pocket for the last few months and it was fairly close to my finger pricks.

My insurance finally covered the Libre late into my third trimester. It’s been 36 hours with a new monitor and it’s at least 40 - 50 points lower than my finger prick checks. I keep getting constant low glucose readings.

Has anyone else used the Libre and/or Stelo?
Wondering if the Libre just doesn’t work for me.

I checked the serial number and my Libre monitor is not one of the impacted ones.

Chances of early induction?

Second time pregnancy with GD. Diagnosed at 16 weeks this time. Started insulin around week 24 and just got put on metformin at week 33 (plus insulin). Last time I was diet controlled through out.

Baby #2 was measuring at 48th percentile (4lbs 1 oz) at 32 week growth scan. My first ended at 87th percentile 8lbs 7oz emergency c section but GD was diagnosed much later.

Wondering what my chances are of an early (pre 39 week) vs 39-40 week induction.

Not sure if my age (37) / weight gain (23-27 lbs at week 33) has anything to do with it too.

Would love to hear what other folks have gone through.

Birth prep for scheduled c section?

I’m leaning towards a scheduled c section for my second baby (my first I labored, pushed and ended up with an emergency c section).

I know there’s a lot of birth prep for VBAC / TOLAC / vaginal delivery but I was wondering if there was any birth prep for a scheduled c section?

Extremely fatigued and exhausted at 28 weeks. Any tips?

2nd time mom. Have a 2.5 year old. Just hit 28 weeks and I am dragging. Mentally can’t think of anything past survival (food, sleep, basic needs).

Am taking iron and calcium for anemia and low calcium levels.

Toddler does go to daycare during the day. I work full time job, just stopped going to the office because of exhaustion, pregnancy aches / pains, etc etc.

Husband helps out but also has a full time job.

Wondering if I should ask my doctor to test for anything. I was exhausted last time but this feels like a whole new level of fatigue.

Factor or other meal services to manage GD?

Wondering if anyone has had any luck with Factor or other meal plans in managing the headache of figuring out what to eat / the boredom of eating the same thing when you have GD?

Flag Cities and road closures

Wondering if anyone knows how bad road closures / parking will be with the FIFA flag cities event tomorrow?

It’s Marin blocked from Columbus to Montgomery I believe but I’m wondering if it will bleed into the surrounding streets.

Where to inject??

The pharmacist told me the best place to inject was my stomach even after I told him I was pregnant (which he could see).

Is that where everyone is injecting or is there a different body part?!

I’m just starting insulin for high fasting numbers for the first time ever so fairly confused.

My endocrinologist is also MIA and never responds to my messages so no help there…

How hard will it be to manage 2 (toddler and newborn)?

Have a 2.5 year old and will be having #2 in September. Plan is to have my mother come help first after birth and then my MIL when my mother has to go back to work. We don’t want the grandmas there THAT long. For just our sanity’s sake. My husband gets 3 weeks of pat leave, I have 4 months of mat leave.

Everyone in my family and extended family keep telling me that having 2 will be hard and I will need a ton of help.

Toddler goes to daycare 8:30-5:30. Husband usually gets home by 7. How much help do I need and if so what would be the most beneficial with a toddler and newborn?

Tips for job hunting before, during and after maternity leave

Was laid off from FAANG after maternity leave in my last pregnancy in 2024. Took a lower paying and more relaxed role at a legacy old school tech company. Needed a job, didn’t want a gap in my resume and flex WLB worked out because I have a young child. But the role is not what I interviewed for and I am bored out of my mind.

Currently 23 weeks pregnant and due in September with #2. I want a new more mentally stimulating job post mat leave #2 (it would end in early Feb’27). My background is investment banking and strategy consulting (consulting firm and at FAANG). I’ve spoken to my current manager about aligning my role more to business (which is how the role was presented to me during the interview) and even though she’s supportive the head of our team wants me to focus on internal social media and engagement for a not so hot topic at our company. So I know there’s no future here.

Am wondering 1. When to start networking 2. When to start applying 3. Anything to keep in mind when interviewing for new roles with 2 young kids.

Thanks in advance!

More pain in second pregnancy?

Pregnant with #2 and I’m in significantly more pain all over than I was with my first and wanted to see if anyone else experienced this with their subsequent pregnancies.

- I had SPD with my first. This time I have significant SPD, sciatica, hip pain and lower back pain. And everything is happening much earlier.
- My breasts hurt all the time even just taking my clothes off to shower
- My muscles and joints hurt, moving to any degree is painful. I did not have this much mobility pain last time.
- My uterus hurts, constantly
- Fatigue all the time (I am taking iron + vitamin c and calcium pills as requested by my doctor for low iron and low calcium)
- GD both pregnancies expect this time my numbers are spiking more

Just wondering if others have experienced this too with additional pregnancies. My first is 2 years old right now.

Traveling 3 months PP with a 3 year old and a newborn.

I know it depends heavily on recovery and how erveryone is sleeping but we usually go away somewhere for the holidays because our first’s birthday is right around then.

Was wondering if anyone had flown with a 3 month old and a 3 year old soon after birth.

Looking for advice from any other moms who have had or are having prenatal depression and anxiety. I’m 20 weeks and I’ve started having unexplainable bouts of sadness and low energy combined with some anxiety and rage around work & home life.

I had bad PPD / PPA in my last pregnancy, but didn’t have this type of depressive feeling last time during pregnancy and so early.

Unfortunately I can’t speak to my last therapist because of changes to insurance and jobs. I’m trying to find a new therapist covered by insurance but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone had found any good free CBT videos or groups online.

I want to get ahead of it since I have a 2 year old and want to make sure things are still good in home life for him.

Thanks in advance!
