I need a setting on my phone that recognizes it’s my toddler trying to unlock my phone, doesn’t unlock, but doesn’t lock me out

I would pay extra for this setting not gonna lie. He is some kind of hidden phone finding Olympic champion.

The absolute worst PDA is when I need to pump for the baby

I have a week-old baby. The worst demand avoidance in my life is right now when I tell myself it’s time to bust out the breast pump. I would do almost anything else in the entire world than stick to this schedule and I would do a lot to make it easier to stick to this schedule omg. Except all I get is paralysis and doom scrolling, so my bathroom isn’t even getting clean. I want to be doing this—what gives, brain???

(Yes I have explored many different ways of feeding the baby and he is healthy and well-fed. This is just a rant/vent)

Battle of the bottle washers: Papablic, MomCozy, Eufy, Grownsy, something else?

If I’m going to spend the money I want it to be worth it. I will be using it for Pigeon glass bottles and Spectra pump parts, including if they fit the Legendairy Milk cups. I know they all take specialty tablets, so I’m trying to factor that into the cost as well.

We will soon be 2 under 2, mom is working full-time and dad is a SAHP for now. Budget is important but I’m most interested in what cleans the best and is the easiest to use. Not needing to run it 8 times a day would be nice too.

First world problem: MIL won’t stop helping when we need her to entertain the toddler so we can get stuff done

My MIL and I have had our ups and downs, but for the most part we have a good, functional, supportive relationship and she is very careful to check our boundaries if she is worried she will overstep. She is a great grandma.

BUT

She is staying at our place for the week specifically to entertain the toddler while we prep for baby #2. I’m a teacher due in September, it’s going to be a whirlwind once school starts. So why do you let the toddler toddle off while husband and I are elbows deep in a project, and why instead of coming after him do I hear the dust buster? She’s been fixated on some boxes we have collected for Amazon returns, so she consolidated all of the things in the boxes and is cleaning up the floor. Which is great, but not the priority task we were trying to finish in the toddler’s room before bedtime!

So now I’ve hurt her feelings because she was just trying to help, despite us being explicit about what kind of help we needed. I don’t know how to reassure her I don’t need her to be productive, I need her hanging out with her grandson so I can do a load of laundry or load the dishwasher without him.

Online/social media brands

Like 80% of my algorithm is double strollers right now. Something I’m seeing a lot of is what I call “social media brands” that I haven’t really heard of outside of ads and really obviously sponsored content. Maybe I’m not shopping in the right places, so I haven’t heard of them.

Any opinion on bands like Auslen, Strollee, Valco? I know some brands are just entering the U.S. market like Inglesina so I don’t count those the same, but maybe I should?

Laid off, employer covering Cobra for 3 months. How do I extend self-pay coverage?

I got RIFfed while pregnant. My former employer is covering Cobra until 9/30, which happens to be my due date. How do I extend Cobra into a self-pay play until I can get insurance from another job after my former employer stops paying?

Happy Father’s Day to my dad, I’m so proud of myself I picked a better father for my baby than you ever were to me

That’s the post. My husband is a good husband overall, but more than that the man will move heaven and earth for our wonderful little boy. He is such a good dad. I’m proud of myself for breaking the cycle.

What to expect at a fetal echo?

We are scheduled for a fetal echo for the incoming baby at 22 weeks 5 days. What can I expect the service and procedure to be like?

Position eliminated at work. I will not qualify for FMLA and leave when my baby arrives in September.

Employer will keep covering COBRA until what happens to be exactly my due date. Fan fucking tastic.

My first baby was an emergency birth at 34+0 and I was back at work the following week until he came home from the NICU six weeks later. I just wanted a chance to get to be home with my brand new baby and my toddler and now I don’t get that this time either. This sucks.
