Are you able to do “magic eye” pictures?
You know those books where you focus on a weird image and it becomes 3d? Fwiw I can most of the time

We had a little situation recently that's a good excuse to revisit why this sub exists.
Someone posted their hair. Another user decided it was their job to inform that poster that their hair didn't qualify.
That's not their job, and that's not something we do here.
Here's the thing: the risk of "accidentally" including someone with straight hair is essentially zero. Having some texture when wet indicates that there is a pattern there, maybe it's not a very strong one, but that's not something you see on truly straight hair. Maybe they'll try a new routine and find out it doesn't work well enough to be worth it. Many of the products are still going to be useful (I use gel when I wear my hair straight) and none of them are going to be harmful. Even the weakest pattern can do a beach wave look.
Meanwhile, the risk of making someone feel unwelcome in the one corner of the internet that isn't telling them their waves don't count? We don't need that here, this is a place where you can experiment without being judged.
The sub's position is that truly straight hair is straight whether it's wet, dry, or anything in between. It is a well-studied phenotype that maybe some people aren't familiar with but once you've encountered it you'll know that people with truly straight hair do not wonder if it's actually straight or not.
That's exactly who this place is for. If you want a sub that gatekeeps curl patterns and debates whether someone's hair "wavy enough," you can go to the larger textured hair subs. This sub exists because people wanted to be free from that.
Welcome to everyone. Please be kind to each other.
