i get more spam form submissions than real orders

ran an ad.spent money. check analytics - 100 submissions in one day holy crap i think, it worked

start processing. first - spam. second - spam. third-spam too. all 100 - spam. perfect names, perfect phone numbers, identical questions. bots

i spent an hour cleaning. then another hour. then gave up

now i just delete anything that looks suspicious. and almost everything looks suspicious. im missing real customers because i thought they were bots. or im processing bots thinking theyre customers

i dont know whats worse anymore

found hardware human verification. eye scanner, local processing. for my store it sounds like a nuclear bomb

but you know what if it filtered out bots, maybe i would agree. put a machine in the corner of the store. "scan your eye to submit a request"

customers would think im insane. but at least no spam

although shopify probably wont add that. they cant even make a proper captcha

An implementation being "99% correct" means it's 100% broken

Im losing my mind looking at some of these github repos lately where people are letting standard llms write their cryptographic primitives

Large language models just guess the most likely next token. they don't do actual rigor. a probabilistic model cannot guarantee a secure state transition. it is kinda refreshing seeing the broader tech world finally admit this - like how the latest ai reasoning benchmarks are suddenly prioritizing strict formal verification and machine-readable proofs over standard chat outputs

unless an automated system can mathematically prove its logic step-by-step, keep it far away from anything requiring high-assurance security. stop trusting autocomplete with math.

Menopause skin really just hits you like a truck overnight

I swear I went to bed with normal skin and woke up a few months later looking like all the moisture was permanently drained from my face. the hormonal drop is just brutal and im so frustrated with how much money ive wasted recently trying to fix the sudden dryness.

and don't even get me started on the skincare industry right now. every time i look for something to help, these companies want $180 for a 1oz bottle of "clinical" serum that just feels like sticky water anyway. it’s genuinely insulting how they upcharge women over 40 just because we're trying not to look completely exhausted. the prices are just totally out of control for what you actually get

Im officially done with the complicated routines and overpriced tiny bottles tbh. lately when my face feels tight I just grab a Lululun from the fridge. I keep a bulk pack of some anti aging face mask things I ordered and just slap one on while watching tv in the evening. the Lululun ones are just easy and don't cost a car payment

it doesnt miraculously reverse gravity or whatever but at least my skin doesn't physically hurt from being so parched by 3pm anymore. im just too tired to care about the luxury skincare hype at this point, sometimes you just need basic hydration without taking out a loan.

What's something you've gotten noticeably better at just by paying more attention to it?

Not practicing deliberately. Just watching, noticing, thinking about it more. The thing that improved almost by accident because you started caring about it

🎰Hey r/onlinegambling, based in Malaysia and i’ve been looking around for decent online casinos that actually work well here, checked out quite a few options, EU9.Asia is the only one that looks genuinely good so far. I like the fast local bank deposits/withdrawals and the game selection seems solid, but I haven’t cashed out big yet. anyone here from Malaysia using plays there? how are the payouts in reality, speed, reliability, any hidden issues?

also open to other recommendations if you have better ones that work smoothly in Malaysia. especially interested in sites with quick and hassle-free withdrawals.

play responsibly. 🎰

not big life changes
just small things every day

like
checking phone first thing
sleeping late
saying “i do it later”

feels nothing in the moment
but it adds up over time

i tried one small change
drink water in the morning
actually helped

Is it just me or is owning an older house in this state becoming a total scam?

I just got my new assessment and my property taxes are jumping again. On top of that, my home insurance premium just leaked into "insane" territory because my roof and HVAC are apparently "too old" for the current standards.

I’m at the point where I don’t even want to deal with the spring market circus. I looked into what it would take to get the place "listing ready" and I’m looking at like $40k minimum just for the big ticket items. I work full time, I don’t have the energy to babysit contractors for six months.

Has anyone here skipped the traditional realtor route and just sold to one of those local Maryland cash buyers? I keep seeing mailers but I want to know who’s actually legit and doesn't just lowball you into the dirt. I'd rather take a fair price as-is and go rent something modern than keep sinking money into this pit.

Any local recommendations or companies to stay away from?

I’m moving to Austin soon and trying to narrow down neighborhoods

I’d like somewhere with stuff going on (cafes, bars, just walkable in general), but not full-on party chaos every night

been looking at a few areas online but it’s hard to tell what they actually feel like day to day

for people who live there - where would you point someone who wants a balance?
